Me too. And I'm a girl. :) I had to fight to be able to watch any of these shows. Because it was a show "for boys." I now have taken some martial arts classes to be able to defend myself: karate, ju jitsu, etc. It's cool. :) I was annoyed how they only let April kick people a few times and didn't let her become a successful ninja and they were always having her get rescued. So then I found the female martial artist I liked and could look up to when watching Xena the Warrior Princess. :) as an older kid.
I can't even express the sensation of listening to this track on cassette as a kid. The sheer coolness/awesomeness/badass-ness was just almost too much to handle. I think I literally got butterflies when I'd hear the final 4 bars of verse 3 and into the chorus lol
same! i had it taped off the radio and i used to listen to it over and over and imagine the scenes from the video. i still love it. for what it's worth, i think the second of the recent live-action films is actually great. give it a shot even if you disliked the first micheal bay one
This movie is damn near perfect. Perfect blend of the gritty comic books and the fun kid friendly cartoon. Also the battle with shredder still gives me goosebumps.
It really is a masterpiece. It made 15x at the box office what its budget was and it was well deserved. It holds up amazingly, in fact it's even more topical now than it was in 1990. I doubt we'll ever get another Turtles movie, or even a New York movie about crime as good as this one. Don't sleep on small studios and the power of Jim Henson puppetry!
I loved this movie as a kid. I remember my mom buying the DVD of it for me at the store. I would watch and rewatch it all the time. It was gritty, fun, and felt adult. Shredder felt dangerous, and the Turtles were actual warriors. I remember dancing to this song and pretending to be a ninja as the credits rolled. Good times, really good times.

I've scoured the internet and I can't find anything on these guys. The momentum they had after this was incredible, very sad that they never had a full album. I don't know what it is about this song, but it's strongly nostalgic and it's very, very powerful. When I hear it now, sometimes I get a lump in my throat. Maybe it represents my unfulfilled hopes and dreams as a child, I don't know. But this is such a great song and takes me right back to my childhood.

When I was 7, a DJ at my aunty's 40th birthday shindig played this song. I danced to it on the dancefloor all on my lonesome and afterwards he called me up to the booth and handed me the vinyl. This has to be the only rap song that I genuinely enjoy in any way. I get actual chills, listening to the lyrics. (which, thankfully, have no swearing in them, making it all the more easy to understand)
I remember first hearing this song when I was an impressionable 16/17 year old kid. By the time the song finished I swear I was ready to move a freaking mountain.
This was one of the first films I had seen in the cinema that made me feel that the 90's was gonna be different than the 80's after I had already seen a few films up to that point as a kid in the cinema. This did not feel like the 80's at all for some reason despite being probably in production in 88-89 and this song helped do that.

well in the song they say THE not A, so the wrong is still messed, they were called out on it years later too but it's too late to do anything now. those things don't scream leader to me, they scream rebel...which is fine too, it's who he is.
When I was 7, a DJ at my aunty's 40th birthday shindig played this song. I danced to it on the dancefloor all on my lonesome and afterwards he called me up to the booth and handed me the vinyl.
It remains, to this day, the single greatest moment of my existence thus far. Including the time I found the cure for Ebola.
I Had this on 7 inch vinyl used to rap this every day ha ha our childhood was so much better back then, compared to today's kids

This has to be the only rap song that I genuinely enjoy in any way. I get actual chills, listening to the lyrics. (which, thankfully, have no swearing in them, making it all the more easy to understand)
I remember first hearing this song when I was an impressionable 16/17 year old kid. By the time the song finished I swear I was ready to move a freaking mountain.

I remember when i was a young kid i watched this everyday after school for at least a year straight, such a great movie.
This was one of the first films I had seen in the cinema that made me feel that the 90's was gonna be different than the 80's after I had already seen a few films up to that point as a kid in the cinema. This did not feel like the 80's at all for some reason despite being probably in production in 88-89 and this song helped do that.
