Great arrangement and tutorial. Love it!!! Thank you for posting this. You really know how to share your knowledge. Have you considered posting your intake on "Washington Square" (The Village Stompers) ?
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman No worries. It's a 1963 song/melody usually heard with a banjo & trumpet. When you'll hear it, I'm pretty sure you'll say "Ah yes, that one"... 😀 Here are 2 interesting links : ua-cam.com/video/cUqgoMfgro0/v-deo.html & ua-cam.com/video/x-8Vsjzo010/v-deo.html (this guy is absolutely great). I think you have a great site. Thanks
Guitarversum Sandra Sherman spring and summer here are not really hot. Naow it's 18 C and in summer it's Maximum 28 Celsius. But I guess it's more comfortable than Austria now ;) Thank you again. You seem to be a really kind person
even i m not fluent in english speaking , i can follow your instruction and explanation cause you're so clear and patient to show us any note and why and how to play it , it's a lesson with a big value and you demonstrate you're knowledge , if i was in the neihgboor i take a place to be student directly for four years !!!! subscride and follow !!
gusofgal merci! Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm glad you can follow my lessons. Maybe you want to try the subtitles created by UA-cam. They are English, but at least you can look up a word in the dictionary then. Keep on swinging!
Really great lesson! Thanks for the really clear explanation and for going into your voicing choices and arrangement, that is very welcome indeed. I'll be buying the notation from you shortly and this will be the first jazz standard I learn to play on guitar :) I'm a long time bassist going back to guitar, my first instrument, after a very long time away and I've decided to stop messing about and finally properly study jazz.
Hi Sandra. Wow, at last a nice and easy goung person teaching in understandable english (for me as a dutch Guy) everything about playing jazzguitar. I am a selflearned - no lessons 😐 - strumming player. Most country/pop. But always liked tot listen to gipsy-jazz, Wes Montgomery, George Benson, Lee Ritenour, Toots and so on. I like to start studying jazzguitar - 61 yrs 😁 - with help from your tutorials on UA-cam. I have a couple highend dreadnaughts, but no jazzguitar and thinking about buying a 2nd hand Epiphone 335/339/Sheraton or Ibanez or Farida SA16 for less than €350. I already own a AER 60/2. Any helpfull advice would be appreciated very much 😁. Thanks in advance. Jan -aus der Niederlande - spreche auch Deutsch aber bevorzüge English
Jan Kattelaar Hi Jan, thanks for the praise ❤️ I think the Epi 335 or 339 are a pretty good deal. Go get em. An Epi Sheraton 2 is also an excellent guitar, if you find one for sale. I have some more Montgomery up today! Btw, my dad was born in Haarlem , Nederlands, but moved to the US at age 3. He still speaks dutch fluently. Unfortunately I don't.
Excellent Sandra!....I play it in Am....but I like your chords better!...How about a chord solo of "Sunny"?...I would love to hear your arrangement on that tune!
Thank you again for this great lesson,Sandra. You are the one!! May i give you a request for a new song in relation to the upcoming Christmas Holiday Season. It's the song of Mel Tormé called: The Christmas Song.
love your videos plz could you do chord arrangements on all the things you are , satin doll and blues jazz etudes (in Bb and F) , it will be awsum , thank you

You can do it! Make it a long teem goal and only learn one bar a day. That way you also memorize the tune better.

Hello Sandra , thanks' s for sharing … I like to play a G instead of Ab mesure 6 for the melody note
That's totally fine too! Just play what sounds best to your ears.

ok I already have the tab, classic song, but a little modern sound just a little :)
You mean, my arrangement is too modern or you wish it were more modern?
Guitarversum Sandra Sherman I believe your piece a is classic one with a little modern touch. I love it. Sorry for my English
Yes - nice. A bit high-pitched in the beginning for my taste ...
Yeah, I wanted to keep it in the original key, bc people often complain when I don't 😊
Thanks for all. Please let me know which is your ampli set up for this video.
Cello62 I don't use an amp for my teaching videos. I go into an active D.I.Box and from there into my audio interface (RME Hammerfall). I use a software plugin to emulate the amp.
