I’ve just finished my SIA course yesterday with a different company which have been a nightmare, 16 day course turned into a months course, I regret not going with get licensed. I done the exams yesterday, feeling confident with 3 of them but the PI I’m unsure of. I’ve been doing the mock exams you have online which have been really helpful.

All new guards need a first aid qualification from April 2021. Current guards renewing their licence need one from October.
How would this work is it a course that we need to do in a writing exam or just go to a class and listen to the teacher speak??

I have course EFAW Emergency First Aid at Work. I passed this month I need to renewal my SIA door supervisor licence in December 2023. I need to do a level 2 award as well or enough only EFAW. And is approved EFAW course online and level 2 award. Top up course and level 2 award a the same course or not.

Hi there, when you renew your licence you will have to get your Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.
When you do the test do you do any practical? Like self defence?

Hi Muhammad, all candidates must have a basic understanding of English before they can complete the course. There is a small English language assessment that you must pass on the first day of your course. I hope this helps.

Get Licensed I really liked and thank you very much indeed for this and your other videos, it is not an easy job I know that and you did great. It is my problem not yours sir it is easier for me to store the information in my brain if it’s given in short period so there are 20 chapters, what I was saying it would have been more easier for me kind of people to have deeper understanding if you could make each chapter in one short video.

Hi Fadi, that sounds great! You need 5 years work history and the only age requirement is that you must be over 18 years old.

If during the past 5 years there was a period of time when I was our of work during that period would that make a difference ? Would it matter if the past 5 years that I have been abroad ? Yes the SIA licence is just a requirement for the UK. In the US, Unarmed security guards may work under the licence of their employer, which means they themselves do not need to hold a licence.

How is the exam based on? It is my first time, so is written or verbal exam? Multiple choices. Your help would be much appreciated. Can i also skip the training if i want to Door Supervision and just sit for the exam/test?

The course is taught in English and speaking and writing English is a regulatory requirement.

Rafa to start with, make sure you keep a clear criminal record and study hard at school. Then take a course of some description. You shouldn't have to move country as I'm sure your own has many VIPs.

No, it's not exaggerated, I work security in a NHS hospital doing 12 hour shifts. Take home after tax for me personally is £2880. It all depends what you're doing job wise and how many hours you do, and of course what the hourly rate is because some security jobs pay more then others naturally 👍

@@jordanmarazzi3548 based in UK, like I said I work in a hospital doing specialized 1 to 1 security with aggressive and violent patients with mental illness' it all depends on what type of security you're doing man and how many shifts you pick up with your company. 👍

All good having this glorify video about SIA badge and how wonderful it is to be security Door supervisor , or security Guard, when you are not protected when you get harm, stab or even killed, as per say as a Police officer in the Uk, you have to buy your own liability protection cover. your own suit, or uniform, which not all companies do provide for??
Most Door supervisor guards do not have a clue or being trained properly in Self defensive techniques to protect themselves, or ongoing First aid, or even CPR. except on the very first time they done their SIA exam? or even been taught how to write a simple report in the English Language, as so many cant even write or speak English properly? yet they have their license! why is it that you don't make a video about the Dark side of being a A door Supervisor Guards etc, and be totally transparent about the dangers facing old and new guards and what they can or cant about being a guard, its not just about Customer service, what about poor numeration for working long hours, at £9, to £12 an hour for 12 hours shifts, etc, what about those who get their licence, from a school, then pay for Sia badge from the Homeoffice, then nobody would employ them, because they don't have the necessary 3 to 5 years experience to be a ble to get a job? that is my gripe. with youtube videos like the one you are promoting sir. yes I know I am going to get some negative comments, because I have touched ona sore subject here, . cheers . i know because I am a Guard.
It is all a load of nonsense. According to these videos there is a massive shortage of security staff since Covid. As you know many security staff were laid off and some never received any Furlough or other benefits. Nothing has changed, the industry is worse than ever. Where are all these jobs and this massive void waiting to be filled? All there is on offer is two days worth of work and zero contract positions. With some companies you get paid on the 5th or 6th week because the employer wants to cream the interest, no sick pay and that pittance of a pension called Nest. For a position that demands a lot of responsibility the treatment is atrocious. In addition one is working for nothing but dodgy companies using multiple names and aliases with undisclosed addresses because they want to avoid tax. There is no incentive in working in security. The best thing you can walk away with from this is having experience with good customer service and conflict management skills. Also showing that for the duration of your time in security you have passed multiple DBS checks successfully, meaning whichever kind of job or career you want to apply for this will look good on your CV especially if you have both a standard and enhanced current DBS.
That is just about it, nothing else positive to say about this joke of an industry.

Why are more and more SIA licence holders acting and posing like police officers even dressing like them and patrolling in part public areas ?? How is this legal (since we all know it is clearly not) ?
Hi there, this should not be the case. Impersonating a police officer is a criminal offence. Training is provided to SIA Licence Holders to ensure they are educated within what is allowed within the law.
It could look like law enforcement but it could be a private security company hired by the local council borough like the new west end company who helps secures the streets near Mayfair and so on if it clearly states police on the uniform but there not then that’s illegal but if there wearing all black and look abit like police idk the full letter of the law in that sense but I don’t think it’s illegal
I've noticed it also. some even have the thin blue line badge like they are a part of the police. btw if you see a police officer with a black thin blue line badge. it is not the uniform they get issued with. They purchase them themselves from ebay etc. as for security lmao I've seen batman and sponge bob badges.
Because SIA are expected to do the police's job for them with no adequate training ( all SIA course modules in reality are unworkable) - a 5th of the wage, no kit and no back up.
SIA is just a money making scam putting people at more risk.

Listen to the video again and perhaps pay attention this time 😂. He isn’t saying DS & CCTV licenses are interchangeable. He is referring to the Unit 1 of the training which is common between DS, SG, CCTV and CP.
