    In the facebook groups for each of these there are other homeschoolers have done a combined list using both together. They’ve detailed out which chapters to do with/after each other as there is different info between them. That’s how we are going to use both together

    Regarding the audiobooks for Curiosity Chronicles, they've updated them and they've significantly raised the quality.

    The minecraft activities seem so fun. We personally use History Quest. I just liked the audiobook samples more for History Quest but it was a difficult choice for us between the two ❤ they both seem pretty great choices

      I agree. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. It really is just about personal preference on the extras. Thanks for watching and sharing!

    We started with a secular history and keep coming back to these books as it seems to grab my kids attention most!!! My teen is getting into accent history but my other kids don’t care for history!!! I don’t think we can use a history curriculum that is too wordy!!! My kids make their own book of centuries and I think all my older kids look at them!!! The history hops sounds awesome!!! We seem to jump around in history!!! The mapping activities look awesome!!!

      @@Homeschoolology do you use the audiobook and if so, which one?

    • @Homeschoolology
      @Homeschoolology  Рік тому +1

      @@melissamoore280 I plan to use the Curiosity Chronicles audio book for sure as we move through that program. If I feel like we have time/need to/want to we will add in the audio book for History Quest. I'm going to play it by ear. Both audio books seem to be comparable to me. The CC is two characters talking, which I feel is a little more engaging than just one person reading. But that is just my/my kiddos personal preference.

    Great review! Are you using CC with your Kindergarten and 4th Graders? Can I ask what you are using for your 8th Grader? My 8th Grader loves CC, but I feel like I need to supplement with something more substantial.

      @Homeschoolology  Рік тому

      My 4th grader will defiantly join us for CC. We will see about my K. He may or may not depending on how interested he is. We don't push too much on the "extras" in the really early years.
      For my 8th grader, we will be using a combination of Big History Project, CC, and BYL Level 8 History of Science. I will be putting out a video sometime soon to explain more!

    Im looking at torchlight so i will be buying Curiousity Chronicles, i was a little confused looking at their website though( probably just me🤪) What package did you buy? Did you find the website clear on what extras such as workbook activities that come with each package?

    • @Homeschoolology
      @Homeschoolology  Рік тому

      I'm going to have to try out a Torchlight level soon. It is always one I look at each year!
      I would agree that their website isn't the most user friendly. I defiantly spent some time looking around. I landed on getting the "Hardcover + Audio File Bundle" and the "Activity Guide PDF Bundle". You can get the whole thing in one bundle, but the book is soft cover, and I really wanted the hard cover since I know we will be using it more than once. I did also add on the "Lapbook/Interactive Notebook Package". My kiddos much prefer that style of notetaking, so I knew it would be good for us.
      I believe that Torchlight does not require you to get anything other than the book, but I would highly recommend the Activity Guide Bundle. I am very impressed by it and think my kiddos are really going to enjoy the activities (which will lead to better learning!). And I really do love the Lapbook/Interactive Notebook bundle. I would say if you had to leave something off, that would the it. But also it is on $10 and I feel the value is way more than that!
      Hope you found that helpful. Let me know if you have any other questions!

    Prince of Egypt 🇪🇬 might to check it out for Studying Egypt 🇪🇬 it is fast. I remember seeing it years ago with my grandparents RIP my grandmother.. Noah’s movies for that as option.. I been labeled a history nut a lot , with my site I use for my Hiset schulde. I tend to split into 3 days. The paragraphs re” crazy long I am actually doing ancient Africa right now I do binder for that… once I finish that 6th grade course & have notebook 📒 for 6th grade SoCal Studies I finished about two years ago. Just review for the quizzes & practice chapter exams do placement tests.. I tend to listen to music 🎶 while doing my quizzes & practice chapter exams.. the placement tests of the idea having to do them gets me rather nervous anxiety disorder I had since grade school worst of it I could not express it very ll especially 5-7 years old. I do map drawing ✍️.. sometimes the maps re” very small I am like who is supposed to read that very very small print?

      Have you thought of selling your copies of Story of the World to fund something new? That being said, it is a solid program and core knowledge is great if you are able to put in the prep work. Also your local library should have tons of resource books for history. That is one of our favorite ways to learn about anything through resource books.
