you're welcome!!!!!!!
Can't find video on merging to highway. Both the rear view & side mirrors only have limited view of the oncoming highway traffic as the merging lane is at an angle, shoulder check & head turn can't see properly too many fast moving cars ?!
Hello, thanks for the comment! Yes, that would be a great video for us to make! Merging onto the freeway can be challenging for sure, and like you mentioned, it requires that you do continuous mirror and shoulder checks over and over again until you find a safe gap to enter traffic. Also, it's important not to lose site ahead of you in case traffic is stopping or slowing. It takes practice to gain confidence when merging onto the freeway, but you can get there as long as you always take your time and really use your mirrors and look over your shoulder using QUICK glances. Hope that helps!
What is the best way to work this in when using traffic checks? I’m having trouble knowing when to use both and it feels overwhelming to try to incorporate both simultaneously
Hello, thanks for the question! Doing traffic checks can be challenging for sure, and like you mentioned, it can feel overwhelming at first. First and foremost, it's important not to lose site ahead of you in case traffic is slowing or a hazard is approaching. Traffic ahead is ALWAYS your most important visual target (unless you are reversing of course). It takes practice to gain confidence when using your mirrors and doing traffic checks, but you can get there as long as you use your mirrors and look over your shoulder using QUICK glances. While it's good to always know what's around your vehicle by checking your mirrors from time to time, you especially want to quickly check your mirrors and look over your shoulders when you are changing lanes or turning. Always do your traffic checks in the direction you are moving: if you are lane changing left, then check to the left. Turning left, then check to the left.
Hope that helps!
@@DriversEdDirectthank you. Very helpful
Do they do show me tell questions during the dmv test?
Hello! I am not sure what you mean, can you please clarify and I'll do my best to answer, thanks!
@@DriversEdDirect I read that they do show me tell me questions before your drive test. But I guess not?
@@averageperson10 Thanks Autumn, maybe you are referring to the DMV pre-drive test questions? Here's a video on that: ua-cam.com/video/jxOEhKd1V9w/v-deo.html - Please let me know if that's what you were looking for, thanks!!
@@DriversEdDirect that is what I was looking for, thank you so much :)
@@averageperson10 Glad we could help, thanks!!
Do you do this all the time while driving? I tend to only look straight the whole way
Hello and thanks for watching! While straight ahead of you is definitely the most important area to be scanning, a good defensive driving technique is to always know what's going on around your entire vehicle, and glancing in your mirrors from time to time will help you accomplish that. That way, if an unexpected obstacle presents itself (like an animal or child running into the road), you already have a good idea of what escape routes you have available to you and can react more quickly. Hope that helps!
