    Great review, Mike. Love the white color. I didn't care too much for the black option. I needed the greater weight on the head, which is exactly what this racquet delivers. Very satisfying to hit. I started tennis as a scrawny kid with a 374g racquet that I could barely swing properly. Now almost 30 years later, I could not have imagined being able to hit bombs from inside the baseline. It makes for great rallies (I haven't played matches, but getting there).
    I also have the Speed MP version. I found that to be too weak when countering heavy or fast shots. The Speed Pro is what the MP would be if I added weights to it. Think of it as a custom weighted Speed MP. The Speed Pro has the 18x20 string pattern, something I was not used to since I have been a lifelong 16x19 string player. I am not good enough to feel the difference, but the results are clear. I can strike the ball with 80% power and still land inside the court and in the general direction I intended. I have no fear of going all out in the cross-court direction. I do notice that high topspin is harder to achieve compared to lighter 16x19 racquets. I have to expend more effort to get those loopy, deep forehands. The tradeoff is I can hit more powerful, flatter drives (with an adequate amount of topspin). It's a good tradeoff, in my opinion.
    You're here watching Mike's review because you are on the fence or considering it. I was between the Speed Pro and the Pro Staff 97 v13, both of which received top reviews from Mike. The PS v13 is easier to swing and has the weight to counter fast balls, but I feel it is not as forgiving. In the end, I think I made the right decision in getting the Speed Pro. It fit my intended play style the best. Thanks, Mike for pointing me in this direction in the first place.

    Just got back into tennis this year after a long hiatus, but I bought this racket and I absolutely love it. I'm a bigger guy, so the lack of power is a plus for me. I finally have something I can control and if I need power, I can produce it myself and the racket responds well and gives me that power if I want it. Love the heavier feel too.

    Hi, very good review!!
    What do you think about Speed Mp?
    I think that maybe Speed Pro is a little bit too heavy and in a long match could be very tiring..
    (I’m an advanced player, who hit “few” spin shots and also flatter shots..I would a racket that could give me power and control). You have to consider that I have a Babolat Pure Aero at the moment..
    Do you think the Speed Mp, maybe adding some weight, could be a good racket for me or I should look for the Pro version?
    Thanks!!

    • @MikeKomen
      @MikeKomen  3 роки тому +1

      My recommendation if you’re a flat hitter with a more linear swing path, go with the pro. The extra weight will make your shot feel heavier. If you want to experiment with customizing your racquet nothing wrong with the mp.

    • @gekgamestv9657
      @gekgamestv9657 3 роки тому +1

      @@MikeKomen Of course I use modern handle, but I don’t play with much topspin..Maybe with the Mp I could generate more power and at the same time I could have control? I would just add 4-5gr to make the racket a little bit more stable.
      The only thing that stops me is that the Speed Pro maybe is too heavy and not much handy..

    • @gekgamestv9657
      @gekgamestv9657 3 роки тому

      @@MikeKomen And though I’m an advanced player I’m not very trained and also a little thin..
      Anyway do you still think that I should take the Speed Pro?

    • @MikeKomen
      @MikeKomen  3 роки тому +2

      Based on what you said there I think the MP would be a better choice. Only way heavy racquets are useful imo is if you have great biomechanics that let you get the weight moving without forcing it from your arm. Otherwise they are a liability and injury machine.

      @@MikeKomen Thanks a lot for answering man!
      And what do you think about Yonex Ezone 98 or Wilson Blade 16x19? Do you think that one of this two rackets could be better than Speed Mp for my playing style? Or the Mp with some extra weight anyway is better?
      Thanks again!

    Thanks for the review mate 👍🏻
    How would you compare that with Prestige Pro what you have recently reviewed?
    I'm thinking to switch from my blade 98 V7 to the Prestige Pro. Need some more stability and plow. I just feel I could struggle with a sweet spot in 95 sq.in, though many say including you that sweet spot in a Prestige Pro feels larger than in usual 95 sq.in rackets, is it?

    • @MikeKomen
      @MikeKomen  4 роки тому

      The speed felt a bit more muted for me but I had great control with it. The frame and sweet spot definitely feel big for a 95. I think it’s the oblong head shape that helps with that. You get extra room above and below centre which is usually where you’ll hit if you’re off so it helps you out in those situations. Thanks so much for watching!

    I switched to this one from Pure Strike 2017 100, and was very happy with that.
    Accuracy was awesome. Flat shots and flat serves are much better.
    Spin, easy power, slice serve are what have to be sacrificed.
    However, this Speed Pro 360+ is what I need for my current level and game style.

    Great review. Really struggling to decide between gravity tour vs speed pro vs speed mp. I used to use a IG speed mp and also blade 18x20. Really enjoy a 320-330 swing weight but a lighter static weight. Approx 4pt headlight seems to be my sweet spot

    • @MikeKomen
      @MikeKomen  4 роки тому +2

      I personally like the gravity tour better than the new speed pro. I found that it played like the 2011/2012 speed pro that I loved with the more round head shape and it had a huge sweet spot.

    i always thought it's weird scoring power when a low power is not necessarily a negative.. but everyone does it and it brings the score of the racquet down

    • @MikeKomen
      @MikeKomen  3 роки тому +1

      But at the same time those racquets with low power have a higher score in control, while powerful racquets typically have a lower score in control, so it balances out for a good score comparison. Thanks for watching J !

      I think he just prefers the darker colour, kind of like how Federer uses the all black prostaff and not the newer one with white accents. Maybe something to do with white being a distraction from the ball?

    I had the control to go for my shots, which gave me a lot of control, and the stable control of the racquet, centered around control, with the 18x20 for more control. Not sure if I mentioned the control aspect of this racquet. Ok, let’s talk about the paint. Lol

    HEAD’s advertised Novak endorsement of the Speed is such a joke given that his actual racket is so far removed, it bears zero similarity to the Speed aside form the paint job. At least Zverev uses a pro stock version of the Gravity Pro that bears his endorsement, and Cilic uses an old version of the Prestige.

    • @MikeKomen

    • @MikeKomen
      @MikeKomen  4 роки тому +2

      I only tried the gravity tour and while both are great I’d say the speed pro is more focused on control while the gravity is more all round. I also found the gravity to be more forgiving because of the head shape. Hope that helps, and thanks so much for watching!
