I actually prefer Awakening a lot more than Fates, and just a bit more than SoV. SoV is great and introduce some... WELL KNOWN characters, like the pegasus sisters and Camoo. The cast is amazing and pretty cool. Tho that's not a game I would play again and again. Because... every playthrough would be just the same. What I like about Fates is... I guess the fact that every unit can turn into every class. I use a Master Ninja Camilla. Maid Effie. And all those weird things possible. It's just funny. Tho the bad parts of Fates are obviously the story and the characters. They are good/great, but hum... I guess that they don't deserve development since they don't really have it ? Heroes develops them more than Fates, especially Camilla. And the Lord... well since it's your Avatar, it's "you" and Corrin is... fucking dumb. That's really annoying. Also there's that amazing main character, Azura. The fact that Azura actually has the same role as Robin in the story, like the main non Lord character, is actually a shame. Because she's INCREDIBLY useless. She sings. And then she stares at a lake. And jump over a cliff to find an another world. Yay. What ??? Also I actually think that Scarlet is the best character from Fates, objectively. She has traditions and all. But she mostly dies. I think that Awakening is the best because I spent too many hours on it. I personally like the story, and yeah mostly part 1, because part 2 is somewhat messed up, especially the end. I think that the cast is great for the main part. I love Emmeryn, she's surely my favorite character of all time. And I want to say that I actually dislike Lucina. I mean. Just shut up for a moment, you're just saying that we're going to die again and again. It'S tImE tO sToP. Anyway the rest of the cast is fine, I feel like they are all good even if you can dislike some of them. I don't see any character as a bad one. Except Say'ri. Because they did a good character aaaand forgot to develop her. So. Hum. Sorry Say'ri. "Hi I'm Tiki's bogyguard." "Why ?" "... I'm just her bogyguard." AnYwAy I talked a lot lolz. Oh and about Warriors, who cares about its story ? It's a Warriors game. Just punch people in the face. Very enjoyable game btw.
I picked up Warriors on Switch, and the special edition at that. However, the only reason why I did was because it was on sale, for only $50. I wasn’t planning on getting it originally because it didn’t seem too different from any other Dynasty Warriors game, but once I got it, I actually enjoyed it.
I agree with shadows being at the top because I remember learning about overclassing and I spent days grinding every character up. I loved that new idea they put in the game along with the fact that it was a dlc and not just a part of the game. Along with that, I agree with all of your points.
For me, Worst to Best (Love all of these games a LOT still) 6. Birthright. I loved the music, and atmosphere more than the other two routes, but I had to force myself not to ground because it's to easy 5. Revelations. Same thing as last but more characters (I hate Gunter btw I married Scarlet 4. Awakening. I agree with you, amazing story in the beginning and then it fell off near the end. And the characters I forgot a good few of. 3. Conquest. My favorite gameplay wise, and Nohr had a better cast imo (Laslow, Benny, Leo, Camila (IDGAF ABOUT FAN SERVICE SHE ACTUALLY A GOOD CHARACTER WHEN YOU LOOK INTO HER BACK STORY)) 2. Warriors. I LOVE Warrior games. And the voice acting is so nice to hear and characters from one game talking to another about their world is amazing. I'm fine with the clones also because of how the stats work. Some skills and weapon skills etc. stuff fit others better 1. SoV because Fuck You it's good :) But nah the only problem I had was the once you played it once it's hard to have a different run. The pitchforks are the only way to reclass and they kinda made the unit too strong then. But I think it has the best music, characters, and villains (Next to Sacred Stones I love that game so much please don't try to tell me it's bad I will laser you)
Never played Echoes but here’s my list. 1) Awakening, this is the game that got me into Fire Emblem, so it’s probably just nostalgia, but the cast is all around phenomenal and the plot up until the second half is nearly seamless and perfect. 2) Revelations, didn’t know people hated this so much. I personally like it mostly because of the large cast. Problem with such a large cast is most end up stale and boring. The story is the best of the three fates games imo. 3) Conquest, this one is just meh. I didn’t like the classic feel of it and the whole story is just poor decision making out of fear. I just happen to like the Nohrian characters the most and can we talk about Azura’s performance in this one? Amazing. 4) Warriors, it’s a fun casual game, but it’s completely unlike standard FE games and due to it being a spin-off it was hard for me to get into. Also the lack of Gaius, Roy, Ike, and Hector as playable characters is saddening. The story is alright I guess. Really random though. Also the VA changes are horrible. Hinoka is soooo annoying to listen to. 5) Birthright, dear god the only good thing about this one is the soundtrack. Takumi, Sakura, and Ryoma are good characters and work as the royals, but... Hinoka? She feels like a random useless NPC they were like ‘uhh maybe she could be royal idk?’ And went with it. The entirety of the cast is mostly bland and forgettable. Saizo and Oboro are the only two I can actually remember. The story is just awful. Don’t even get me started on how Xander was portrayed...
Awakening, Shadow Dragon and Birthright remain my favourite. Normie but I know what I like. Never quite get the love for Echoes but you helped me understand somewhat.
My List worst to best 5. Shadows of Valentia: Oh man I absolutely hated the gameplay of this one, probably the only FE I've played that i didn't like the gameplay of. Which is a damn shame because its characters and music easily became my fave in the series 4. Revelations The maps are pretty gimmicky and the story sucks, not the best one to replay 3. Birthright The maps in BR are pretty uninteresting but overall its not that bad 2.Awakening It's pretty good, not great and it certainly has its flaws, but its pretty fun and the music is great 1. Conquest It's just fun to replay, it's music is great, the gameplay is some of the best in my opinion and the map design is pretty good. Story sucks but i think the gameplay is good enough for me to completely ignore it
Trash is trash no need to explain. If the rest of the FE games are gonna be anything like garbage ass Fates, this series can burn in hell where it belongs.
Tharja Yeah the story wasn't particularly good but honestly pretty much all of the FE games have pretty average stories, so while fates wasn't good, the bar wasn't set very high to begin with. Most of the characters are two dimensional and sorta just fill out a checklist of traits people like in characters, most lack depth or even much development. All that aside i do think the gameplay still holds up incredibly in conquest, most of the maps are fun that provide some cool challenges and interesting map design, the music is also fantastic. But yeah fates has a lot of flaws so i can understand why some people don't like it. I just wished more people actually explained why they dislike something as opposed to just throwing their opinion out there
correction, it is the 8th best selling Fire Emblem game every if you add the 3ds and switch together. At a whopping .59 Million sales, it is beat by: Fire Emblem Awakening (2.1 Million units), Fire Emblem Fates (1.98 Million units), Fire Emblem (GBA) (.97 Million units), Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones (.89 Million units), Fire Emblem: Monshou no Nazo (.70 Million units), Fire Emblem: Shadows of Valentia (.67 Million units) , and Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon (.61 Million units). I have no idea where you got that number for sales totals, but it is simply, not accurate.
I've really only played Awakening and SoV, so out of the two I'd have to say Awakening is my favorite. I love SoV's gameplay, I will admit. But do I ever hate the story. It just feels so one note to me. Nothing surprised me and everything happened exactly how that kind of have plays out. Well, except for (spoilers Bellow) Alm's father being Emperor Rudolf. While that is a pretty cool plot twist and could be really effective if done right, the problem is..... it wasn't. I mean, I'm all for secret parentages being revealed and all, but the problem comes with the game's theme of "You don't have to be novlevorn to be a hero!" The narrative hits you over the head with this over and over, drilling it into your skull and holding Alm up as the posterboy for this ideal. Then suddenly he's ACTUALLY been not only nobleborn, but ALSO he's suddenly one of the highest ranked nobles in the entire world! That is one of my least favorite kinds of twists in stories in general. When the narrative beats you on the head with how you don't have to be special to be a hero and have the main character be pushed around because no one in their elitist society thinks they're specialo only to go "Surprise! They're more important than you!" That just completely ruined the story for me.
Conquest belongs in the #1 spot because it has the best pure gameplay in the series. The customizations in characters and classes makes it fun to replay, and I skip all the story and cutscenes anyway because they're garbage (except Azura singing in chapter 13?). SoV is great, but I can't imagine playing it more than once or twice because it would be exactly the same. Anyway, my favorite is FE7 anyway so here's to hoping for a remake of that and FE6 soon.
seriously here we go 6 & 5. I have no experience with Birthright or Revalations so idk 4. Warriors. I don't like hack and slash games tbh but niles is hot so there's that 3. Conquest. I've played and gone through it and I really like it, but I can't really remember the game very well? There are also just too many plot holes and confusing story decisions that keep me from liking it as much as I could. 2. Awakening. It was my second Fire Emblem game so I have a lot of nostalgia. I also enjoy the male supporting cast a lot admittedly. Henry and Lon'qu are very good bois. 1. Echoes what did you expect saber is daddy mae is best girl yay
Something about Conquest that I'd like to say is that 90% of the first 7/8ths of the game have amazing map design that are giant delights to play. I feel as though the game kinda dropped it in the last 5 chapters though as each of those maps were boring, monotonous, and unfair in a lot of places. As for the cast, I feel like there aren't really many characters I hate. I actually thought many of the characters were pretty interesting and endearing (i.e. Nyx, Niles, Laslow, Xander kinda, Effie, etc). I also feel like that besides the main lords most of the cast is fairly balanced and with the addition of certain new tomes, swords, and bows (especially that new shining bow) pretty much everyone can be viable. except like arthur and odin they really suck As for Birthright, idk i havent played it geez but Takumi is Innes done right so I'll say that
Here are the objectively best 10 Fire Emblem games: Sonic and the Black Knight Crusader Kings 2 XCOM 2 Warcraft 3 Valkyria Chronicles Shining Force Smash Brothers 64 Fire Loveblem Kingdom: Come Deliverance Skyrim
Valentia is so great. The story isn’t perfect (Alm is pretty vanilla, and Celica makes some poor decisions), but the presentation is amazing. The voice acting, character design, and great side characters like Saber, Mathilda, Boey, Mae, Sonya, Forsyth, and Python make the game something special. The best FE I’ve played so far (I want to play PoR and RD soon)
If you want to see Celica's 'bad' decisions in a different light, look no further than the character analysis Ghast made. I liked her before, and understood why she made the decisions she did (desperation, blackmail, savior mentality etc..)but he goes into such small details that it made me like and appreciate her so much more.
Sandra C. Even with that i still agree that celica is kinda dumb ( not that is a bad thing, everyone have silly moments but what breaks celica for me is how the world of echoes treats her like the most perfect and wise person
Heh, wait until you meet Shinon the guy is the best shit ever imagined in a Fire Emblem game. Also, I do have both the games and I can tell you this as a fan of the series. I have played Shadow Dragon remake (Although I did not finish the game,) Echoes, Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn, Awakening, and all of the Fates games. Path of Radiance to me is the best starting point in any Fire Emblem game. It's not as fast as Awakening's beginning but 3 or 4 chapters teach you general stuff including the Weapon Triangle and fighting/healing. However, unlike Awakening it has the best thing going for the enemy reinforcements don't get to move when they spawn which was a terrible idea on Awakenings part! Combat animations can be old and dated but map attacking makes it quicker if you don't like it. The major selling point for Path of Radiance is its storytelling, characters/supports, and level design. Radiant Dawn, however, is not as great as the predecessor, worth playing on Easy and *MAYBE* normal? Combat animations are better but the level design except for maybe half of them was good. The game gets ridiculously unbalanced in favor of the AI on harder difficulties and requires more luck than skill to even clear one of the early maps, unlike POR where it was calibrated on the harder difficulties to be a fun and fair challenge not sacrificing the hit rate. Radiant Dawn is much harder and cheaper with the combat and kicks Gaiden harder difficulties from the get-go. The story is good but Micaiah gets maybe 1/3 or 1/4 of the game, Elincia maybe gets a tenth or a fifth of the game and the rest goes to Ike which is alright but Micaiah gets little time to develop herself and her army and you can see the rushed development everywhere. You also can't take the "canon" ending seriously because the support system was completely scrapped in this one and has little character growths throughout the game and the "canon" support endings are all nonsense because only one not both of the characters follow through with the choice to bond them. Fe Heroes proves my point on this because its stance on the Heroes is much different than the "canon" endings some people go by like Ike and Soren being gay which is nowhere near the case. Another supporting point to this is the save file where the easy transfer difficulty does not work and the others do but how all the supports with Ike are thrown out, never to be seen again.
My favorite was Code Name STEAM. Who could forget the epic story of Ike fighting for his best pal Abraham Lincoln? Truly the perfect sequel to the Radiant games.
Bret Ginn Oh yeah that one was certainly up there as well. I always wanted a steampunk Fire Emblem game about blasting Aliens for the glory of President Lincoln himself.
I don't know why, but it feels like most people are trying to forget about awakening. I only ever see digs at its story now and people speaking their hate for Lucina.. I mean it's not this video but more the comment sections of this and many others... I don't care of awakening saved the franchise or not, I like it for what it is, but i don't feel like people can accept that from me anymore.. I say Lucina's name and I get stuff like "boring" or "bandwagon" or "overhyped" but that's just who I like, man. Oh well, hopefully the hate will die off soon enough.
You can find them usually on voting gauntlet related videos. Other than that, whenever I would say her in my own comments the reaction i get is negative. Usually people defending tharja or Lyn
My list (From Best to Worst): 1. Echoes SOV (good presentation and is the least dumb of the 3DS games) 2. Awakening (good game, but not a good Fire Emblem game) 3. Revelation (at least they tried. Failed, but tried. Also I liked having a large cast to choose from) 4. Conquest (I don't know what it is, but every time I play this one all my units get totally RNG screwed. I can't damage the enemy with Resistance and nothing else. Also bad story) 5. Birthright (I remember literally nothing from this game, despite playing it twice) 6. Warriors (didn't buy it, but played the demo in Best Buy for ~15 minutes and it just felt like you press buttons. Not a bad game, but just not for me)
i will never understand why SOV recieves so much praise, i mean i played it loved it (because every time i play an fe game i always had fun) but the story is kinda avarage and gameplay is not good after i finished i try to replay it once and i couldn't end it because i was bored the fuck out, even the "good story" didnt keep me to atleast give it a second try, please i really want to know ,what is so special of this game to you storywise i serously trying to see all the appeal everyone is saying, i seriously want to understand even if i don't agree, because for me alm and celica are pretty goddamn boring and the game praise them way to much, without alm everythins is lost, celica made some questionable decisions and alm calls her wise........, please tell me why this game is so special to you?
It's hard to pin Echoes SoV's praise on just one or tow things, but I think a lot of the praise it gets is that is has really good presentation, with it's top-notch full voice acting and really fight choreography (for the 1st time in FE history, the fights look like actual fights), and also does a lot of little things well. The story is pretty basic when you summarize the major points, but I think it's told really well and paced really well. Yeah, Celica's decisions towards the end of her path were...questionable at best, but as a whole all the characters are really well written and the vast majority of them aren't gimmicky, but instead have actual personalities. Something else I really liked about it made every playable character feel important through gameplay. I loved the ability to bring every unit to every battle, since in most other FE games you settle on your main squad of 12-15 dudes about halfway through and then everyone else rides the bench the rest of the game. Bringing everyone made it so that everyone felt like they were contributing. Also I really liked the conversations with each character in the towns & shrines and learning both about their backstory and how they felt about the current events in the story. Gray and Tobin would even chime in sometimes during regular cutscenes. It felt way more genuine and interesting than the 50+ support conversations each character would have in Fates where they mostly just talk about food or Corrin. The biggest flaws of Echoes SoV stem from the fact that it's a remake and has to stay at least somewhat faithful to the original. The drab map design, odd enemy placement, pretty basic story, lack of class variety, and repeated boat maps & desert maps are definitely byproducts of it's time, being the 2nd FE game ever and they were clearly trying to figure things out. After Fates left such a bad taste in my mouth, SoV was a breath of fresh air. I was so hyped for Fates before it came out (I'm a longtime fan but still enjoyed Awakening), but I absolutely hated Fates when I finally played it. Fire Emblem is my favorite game series, but after playing Fates, I thought about ditching the series if more entries were made with Pair-Up, and a focus on shipping and fan-service, but Echoes SoV gave me hope for the future of the series. It was the closest thing to "old-school Fire Emblem" of the 3DS games. The best "fan-service" a game can have is just being a really good game.
Captain Astronaut I felt the gameplay in Echoes was pretty dumb. The story and art were really really good, yet the gameplay was incredibly frustrating and they never improved it from the original.
Captain Astronaut Revelations is not trying lol. The balance is horrible and it's so rushed. Your argument for Conquest is literally just personal experience. Conquest> Revelations anyday.
Lmao I started with echoes and could never understand why people shit on the map design but after playing a lot more fire emblem games and coming back to echoes very recently I can completely understand. Still my favourite game out of them all tho
As much as I think of Fates as an average series of games, I don’t think warriors should be higher. Y’know, cause it’s a dynasty warriors game, not a FE game.
Same, ain't played it but this is how I feel bout hyrule warriors. They are fun games but they're not *zelda* games, it's a dynasty game with a zelda skin
My own ranking 01 Fates (all three ways are part of one great game) 02 Awakening 03 Echoes 04 Warriors (which shouldn’t be on this list because it’s a Dynasty Warriors game, not a Fire Emblem game)
My favourite will prob always be awakening, got me into the series and ive played it at least 13 times at this point. Honestly there all great games, i think my least fav is Shadows just because those maps were such a slog to get through. Even then its still great
King Daniel The Dandy TH-THIRTEEN TIMES? I can understand whois playing rekka no ken 19 times over the course of when it came out til now, BUT YOU PLAYED AWAKENING 13 TIMES IN 5 YEARS?
SharpFE Gamer How you gonna rate Echoes 2nd when it's your profile pic. Lol jk, but I mostly agree, I enjoyed Echoes the most, it reminded me of the old Fire Emblem games I fell in love with.
Awakening gets too much hate. It was the first one for me, as well as many others, and I just get really nostalgic for it. Even after playing all the GBA, ds and 3ds games, when I think back to my favorite times playing Fire Emblem it always comes back to exploring Ylesse w/ Chrom and Robin.
Payton Malstrom Awakening is my favorite as well. I just feel like the characters are so well done. I was able to fall in love with most of the characters and I really enjoyed all aspects of the story. Spoilers further below just to let people know. The way the game makes you feel for the characters and then kill them off (Emm and Basillio being the main ones) only to make you feel excitement and happiness for what they were able to achieve through their deaths. The excitement when Bassilio came back was incredible. Awakening was also the only one that made me cry and continues to make me cry when I replay in almost annually. The ending scene after you sacrifice yourself always gets me.
When I started up shadows of Valeria I immediately fell in love. Amazing atmosphere, beautiful art, and a great soundtrack. Awakening and fates both felt rather cliche anime, despite being fun in their own right, but echoes felt real. The extra character interactions from the towns and such did wonders for making it feel like a breathing world, and the darker tone of the dialogue, where characters acted like the tragic events had weight really sold it. Admittedly I'm less fussy about challenging map design.
THIS!!!! I agree! I just finished Shadows of Valentia and it reminded me of the feelings I got when playing FE4. It felt a lot real and just awesome. Also, Celica and Alm are adorable. Some of their scenes together made me cry. They remind me of Squall and Rinoa from FF8.
awakening's always going to be my favorite FE game. not bc of the marriage system but the supports themselves made the cast more rich and lovable for me
While I won’t defend the maps in Echoes (Even though they’re not to bad to me, I completely understand their faults) I will definitely defend the gameplay in this game. Now you’re probably thinking, “You just said the maps were bad and you wouldn’t defend them!” I’m not talking about the maps, I’m talking about the combat. In my opinion SoV the best and most balanced gameplay in any Fire Emblem, for a few reasons. My first praise is the ability to only carry one Item. Simply put, this adds a much more emphasis on strategical planning the items your party will cary. Do you want a shield to protect from damage? A ring to boost your stats? A better sword? Or food to recover health? Plus the addition of having a base attack without requiring a sword or bow or tome, is an excellent way of dealing with having only one item slot. Not to mention how no durability is better balanced by only allowing you to carry that one item. Now for Magic and Spells. I think having Magic tied to health is such a great idea. It adds a risk and reward type situation which is rather fun. Not to mention how it’s permanently tied to your characters, meaning if they die that spell is gone for good. Plus the warp and summoning spells are fun to play around with too. And thirdly, probably the biggest change is no Weapon Triangle and the removal of Axes. Some might not like the removal of the Triangle but I personally love it. By getting rid of it, it places much more emphasis on other types of advantages, that were important in other FEs but not as important. Such things include Archers and Pegasi Knights, Magic and Armored Units, and Rider/Armorsbane type weapons. These things become much more important with no weapon triangle. I also love the forging system in this game. I don’t think I need to go to in-depth on this one since you get the idea. It’s a refined forging system which is a lot of fun to mess around with seeing the weapons you can get. And finally skills. Skills are interesting since they’re tied to weapons which adds even more emphasis on choosing the correct item to proceed with in battle. So yeah. Long post but I hope you understand where I’m coming from. I’d add another section defending Awakenings second half but this post is already long enough as is so I’ll save it for another day. But anyway thanks for reading!
i agree with all of this mostly because FE really needed something fresh for the combat system and not something stupid like adding magic, bows, and daggers/concealed weapons to the weapon triangle. Seeing how i doubt many people (myself included) ever experienced FE Gaiden before Shadows of Valentia it was a good idea to make a remaster to bring back the completely different combat system from it.
I actually didn’t hate Revelation’s map design as much as everyone else, especially when you compare it to the Echoes maps, it just look like a fun little gimmick they tried. My main complaint to Revelation is of course the story, and the difficulty level. You get Birthright’s most broken samurai, and Nohr’s most tanky Paladin, put them together they just obliterate like 99% of the game. Even on Lunatic Xander and Ryoma working together can destroy just about everything. Revelation’s difficulty in my opinion is like playing through Birthright just with a bigger selection of characters this giving you an advantage. At times you may find yourself getting a tiny bit overwhelmed, but nothing like Conquest’s difficulty...
Zach Carter It’s not that easy, you get Xander so late that once you finally unlock Siegbert’s paralogue it’s nearly impossible to beat on Lunatic. I found that out the hard way unfortunately, he was one of my last pairings and I couldn’t clear it, but I will admit that that pairing is quite the build especially for Siegbert, he comes out pretty good if she’s the mother...
555redkid It wasn't a joke about Siegbert's stats but rather Charlottes S support pair-up bonus making Xander dodge everything and one-shot most things, as well as doubling everything.
Misterlinux You don't qualify as a hardcore fe fan unless the Jugdral games are your favorites (always so much fun to make fun of the vocal minority within the veteran community) I wish my all of my fellow veterans shared my oppinion that people can like what they want.
I legitimately dislike the fates games because of the amount of unnecessary fan service that's in them. Most of the female Nohr classes are sexualized and the private quarters is dumb. In awakening even if you had your character S support someone the relationship would always seem as if it was between the Avatar and the other character. But in fates the game makes it personal and dumb. I am new to the series (Awakening was my first game) However I do agree that Echoes is the best 3ds FE
Revelation has never satisfied me. BR is my fav despite Elise *cries* Rev always seems to screw Camilla over every time, to the point where I actually bench her. Rev made Camilla go from God to weenie.
Personally I would put Conquest like, the tiniest amount over SoV. Those maps are just so boring on Alms side, and tedious on Celicas side that I just can't put it over a game that I still have fun replaying.
Echoes is my favourite as well. While the story did seem generic at parts, I still found myself increasingly invested in it. That made for one of the most intense and enjoyable final boss battles I’ve experienced. What really made the game special for me was the music and voice acting though. I feel that most games in the series either have overall good soundtracks, like Conquest and Birthright, or have several incredible pieces that stand out, like Awakening. Echoes has both: there’s not a single song I dislike and everything fits so well. “What Lies at the End” and “Twilight of the Gods” are two of my favourite songs ever, not just from a video game. In short, 10/10 sounds amazing.
My favorite fire emblem games 1. Mario tennis 2. Pokemon paint academy 3.fallout 4.final fantasy 7 5.undertale 6. Monster prom 7.guitar hero 8.wii party 9. Just dance 10.halo Honorable mention: fates was pretty good
1 - Birthright 2 - Awakening 3 - Echoes 4 - Conquest 5 - Revelations 6 - Warriors ...Well, not really, Ive only played the first 2 on the list XD (200+ hours each one)
If the 3DS era for FE really is over, it ended on a beautiful game. SoV was brilliant despite some of the flaws it had. The characters were mostly likeable and well written, the art and the music were god tier, and the story was great. It will remain my favourite FE for a long time.
With the map design in SoV being so poor I struggle to call to call it good even with the decent plot. Conquest is my favorite thanks to it's fantastic map design and gameplay. Oh and the characters are mostly pretty enjoyable.
Theoretically you can play every fire emblem game up to the 3DS games aside from Radiant Dawn and Path of Radiance, through the usage of emulators or things like New Super Ultimate Injector. This includes all NES / famicom, SNES / Super famicom, GBA, DS and 3DS Fire Emblem games. Thankfully the Dolphin emulator is really good so Radiant Dawn and Path of Radiance shouldnt be too difficult to emulate.
Conquest had nice map design but the gameplay is not perfect. It suffered from the rest of fates’ flawed game mechanics. Pair up, although less broken than awakening, was still too good and I always used it in conquest because it was better than having unpaired units. Felt like more of a necessity than an option, why imo I’m hoping they drop it in fe16. Just my experience though. Also the weapon system is bad
My list #6 Warriors- I just didn't like Warriors on the 3ds, its so much better on the Switch, and even then the story is crap and boring #5 Conquest- Goddamn fuck this story, just fuck this story, sure its maps are better but no tge story just sucks, My only reason that makes me choose Nohr is Leo ( shut up man he just needs love) #4 Revelations- I think its better than CQ only cause at least some of its maps are fun to play and while its story sucks its not ome to piss ypu off as much as CQ does at least imo #3 Echoes- ITS NOT THAT GREAT, Its a good game one of FE best but its still got WAY to much wrong with it, ITS MAPS ARE SO FUCKING BAD #2 Birthrighy - It has the most induring story of yhe 3 Fates games, While its not a good story its not irritating or pisses you off, God its music is so good, its characters design and everything #1 Awakening- I just love Awakenings beginning story, and whike its a bit shoehorned in Grima was still good ( remove Walhart) and its music isnt as good as Birthright its still amazing( looking at you ID Purpose)
Alright so my introduction to the series is through the fates games, and I LOVE the fates games, probably my favorite in the series. I wanted to play Awakening so bad for so long because of how much I played Fates, and I finally did, and I LOVED Awakening. It felt like scratching and itch I've had forever. However, I don't really like Shadows of Valentia. The reasons are: I don't like how the cut-scenes are. They look clunky, and I think the 3D modeled Cut-scenes looked way better. The maps aren't really good, like Mamodxx said, and I also don't like how the classes work. Also marriage and character customization was so good! It adds immersion and customization to the way you play, as well as liking characters more. Yes, I understand that it's a faithful remake, so I'm gonna say it's bad because of that, Fire Emblem as changed a lot over the years. Obviously, I like the modern ones better, but I just wish they would keep with the 3D cut-scenes, character customization, marriage, dialog, and the way the stats of classes are in Awakening/Fates, In newer games.
My ranked list! (I like all of them, but here goes nothing) 1. SoV 2. Awakening 3. Conquest 4. Warriors (Rowan is worst lord imo) 5. Revelation 6. Birthright
Pretty much my list. I honestly found the overflow of characters so annoying and the maps so gimmicky that I never even finished Revelations. Conquest was way better
can i as? why is echoes your favorote, you probably are going to say because the story but i want to know why is so special to you because i don't see the appeal
While I do love all games featured on this list, Shadows of Valentia just didn't do it for me as well as Fates and Awakening did. The plot, while extremely well presented, felt very standard overall and my gosh those maps were just...ugh! Don't get me wrong, Fire Emblem Echoes is an amazing game and is a must buy if you love Fire Emblem but for me, I actually walked away feeling less satisfied than from what I got from Awakening and Fates.
I'm probably the only person in existence who loved Revels weird ass map design. Except the elevator map. We can all agree that the map can burn. I loved the attempt at a stealth chapter and the whole thing taking islands and such into concept. God. I'd kill to see more like it. It makes me take certain units and try to think who I should divide up into teams. Whether I should use pair up or not. Stuff like this.
wackpendejo3000 I get that Thracia did it first. But it's not a concept that is explored much. Sure you can say it isn't revolutionary per say but I love the attempt at it. The hefty reward from it I like. I haven't played the game so I wouldn't know. I mean Thracia. Plan too eventually tho.
I generally enjoy the attempts at map gimmicks in Revelations, and they were generally better-balanced than those in previous games. That being said, balance was awful; retainers were terrible, especially Sakura's not being able to do any damage whatsoever even with WTA the very next chapter, which happened to be among the hardest in the game since they ripped it from Conquest, but royals are all top tier if they're not named Hinoka.
Honestly? I find that with a little work all units can be viable except Gunter not counting early game. I've done a run with no royals and it's entirely doable. A pain, but doable. See thing is that for me, unlike most folks I meet (in my personal experience of course) is that they don't have the patience. I try to take my time to enjoy the map and how much design was put into its creepy aesthetic. I love Revel just for that alone. Seeing this barren wasteland that had nothing remaining but corpses wanting to kill you and just these massive islands. It's honestly unappreciated in my opinion. I hope Mammodox see's my comment and gives it a new shot being similar to what I said in opinion. I try to appreciate what there is. Ya it's not perfect but the levels can be fun
Also to respond to Wackpendo. Define innovation because let's be honest. That's just a stupid term folks slap around everyday as an excuse for something being repeated so that it can be "original" and when we do get something "original" most folks compare to the original work most of the time thinking THIS IS WHAT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN!
Here is my list: 6. Revelation: story and gameplay are both trash 5. Conquest: good gameplay, but the story was an oof 4. FE Warriors: preety good game, but the switch version is visually better 3. Birthright: for newer players this is an amazing game. Has the best story in fates. Gameplay was preety lame, but it is good enough for newer players 2. Awakening: It isn't known as the game to save the series for no reason 1. Echoes: Everthing about it is good except for Alm's character and the maps
Orbital his character isn't relatable. Most of the SoV's cast has amazing characters that people can relate to. Alm on the other hand is shown to be a little too perfect or a Gary Stue. It was hard to connect with him in my play through.
I dont understand how everyone likes echoes the most the game dungeons were horrible for me and I sold all my food supply things got worst I cant trust cecilia at all to fight anyways I so wish so bad to ship Faye with Alm but they had to put the story bullshit in front of this all and Saber and Cecilia is what we need.
Ya mean 4 games. FE14 is not 3 separate games, but 1 game with 3 different campaign paths. Nintendo purposely cut FE14 into 3rds, then sold it the player in piece meal while lying about them being 3 separate games, just to appease shareholders. Sure FE14 got records sales from the piece meal release from those who didn't know any better. But at the same time destroyed a huge chunk of Nintendo's reputation of always having the full game on the cart at launch.
Not counting Revelation because I haven't played it. Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest (Despite the story issues, this is my favorite FE game and one of my favorite games in general.) Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia (Great cast, fun gameplay, and possibly the best writing in any FE game.) Fire Emblem Awakening (Not much to say other than I love the characters and the gameplay.) Fire Emblem Warriors (Some of the WORST writing in the series, but damn is it fun to play!) Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright (Medicore with a side of meh.)
*Prepares to be flamed* Birthright is my favourite mostly from nostalgia since it's the first Fire Emblem game I ever picked up (Heroes doesn't count here) and I just really liked the gameplay, the characters and (God save me) Corrin, because they just kinda clicked with me. Leo is best Fates character, and not because husbando.
Tharja Accurate. Although I do still like them and enjoy playing them. I actually don't like Awakening very much compared to Fates, but again that's probably nostalgia.
glad i'm not the only one who likes conquest more than awakening, birthright and revelation. not sure if i can rank echoes since it's a pretty different fire emblem though
My top 6 is: 6: Revaluation 5:Birthright 4: Conquest 3:Warriors 2: Awakening, it’s what got me into the franchise 1: Echoes, it’s also my third favorite FE after RD and Binding Blade
For me it's: 1. Awakening 2. Revelations 3. Conquest 4. Echoes 5. Birthright Warriors isn't even worth mentioning as it is a Dynasty Warriors game with Fire Emblem skins and not an actual Fire Emblem game.
My top 5: 5. Revelation 4. Conquest 3. Birthright 2. Awakening 1. Echoes I find it hard to put Warriors on the list due to the difference in genre, but if I had to, it'd be either 3rd or 2nd. I like warriors games a lot, and despite the story being predicatable, and the fates section sucking harder than a horny octopus, the rest of it i found enjoyable. The cast has problems, clones are a problem, ESPECIALLY in the DLC, those have no excuses, but the ones in the base game i dont mind as much, quality over quantity, (the obvious HW comparison will come up, and I found that I enjoyed playing as less than a third of the movesets in HW, despite putting 174 hours into it, and for those who ask, i have 210 hours in FEW) Reasons for the fates listing: The Map design really doesnt feel that different to me... like i didnt feel like conquests maps were that much better than birthrights, they were, but not by much, Rev on the other hand i do get the difference, being that 90% of them just need to stop with the gimmicks. And while birthrights plot is safe, I don't like either of Conquests or revs plots, and a bad plot in my eyes is worse than a safe plot. Also REV and CON SPOILERS: Both kill off my girl Scarlet, one in the most dumb fashion possible, and the other in an unceremonious offscreen death in one of the dumbest sections of the game IMO SPOILERS OVER Awakening has a good first third of the story, but I barely care about any of the first generation characters, whereas I love a lot of the second gen characters, the game is very unbalanced, but as someone who enjoys finding ways to break game balance and such, you can start a new playthrough and break it in an entirely different way, which i do enjoy, so bias bonus points. Echoes plot, at least on Alms side, is fantastic IMO, while Celica's was though to sit through near the end, both sides have great presentation, and overall, i enjoyed Alms cast more than Celicas too but both sides are good on the character stand point, the maps, while plain and simple, i still find enjoyable.... unless they are in a swamp and/or desert (anothet thing which is almost exclusively on celica's side) the movement on them just stalls the game, I love the way it handles magic and archers, and it is a really unique FE experience. The infinite respawning enemies i didnt find too big a deal tbh, just target the summoner asap and its fine, its what the fliers and ranged units are for.
In my case the 3DS cast would be: 6. Revelations (it starts nicely but quickly bcam unfun to play for me). 5. Warriors (it's no what I wanted, but at least it's nice mindless fun). 4. Birthright (Simple, not great but enjoyable for the most part). 3. Awakening (Really fun, but incredibly easy to break, and the second half becomes just grinding for the most OP child units, instead of being motivated by the story). 2. Conquest (the most fun out of Fates). 1. Echoes (love almost everything about it).
I love fates for its story and music Awakening was heartwarming with support convos Warriors... 3DS version sucked Shadows nice gameplay and somewhat free roam
Also, FE aint Pokemon. Pokemon is where the company sells ya the same game with the only difference between the versions is the kind of pokemon that are exclusive to that version over not.
Imo Echoes is only better than the previous in story and the effort that went into making it feel real. I also appreciate the forge and all those FE staples that were really improved upon previous iterations. Dungeons are also freaking awesome, I want more of that in the future. I'm more leaning on the game play side when I think a good FE game. Frankly put, it's core gameplay feels like child's play next to the complexity of the Fates games. I never felt I had to think too much, and Echoes hard mode felt no more difficult than normal mode.
My personal list: 1.) Fire Emblem Echoes:Shadows of Valentia 2.) Fire Emblem Fates:Conquest 3.) Fire Emblem Awakening 4.)Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright 5.)Fire Emblem Warriors 6.) Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation Basically, I almost agree with the list When I first played Fates, Corrin‘s decisions made sense, since I hadn’t had that many situations that were dire (my parents are a bit protective). But as I grew to know the internet, I realized how some of the decisions weren’t smart. But, I liked it. Fates was my first FE game (yeah, I didn’t start at Awakening. Shush)
Haven't played warriors, so I'll be ranking the games I've played. 1- Shadows of Valentia 2- Conquest 3- Awakening 4- Birthright 5- Revelations My list is actually pretty similar, but switched Birthright with Revelations. Number one was a hard pick, but I went for SoV even if I had more fun playing Conquest. The reason is the positive outlook on the franchise SoV gave that made me appreciate it more, especially after the mess Fates was. And considering FE16's trailer, it's clear that a lot of the presentation was inspired by SoV.
My ranking is: Echoes >>> Awakening > Conquest = Birthright >> Revelation (haven't played Warriors) The reason I put AW over all of Fates is because, in my eyes, both games tried to do things, and Fates failed at them more than AW. Like you said, The 1st half of AW is great, but I don't think the rest is bad, just not as good (kinda like pre-timeskip vs post-timeskip Death Note). I enjoyed the Valm campaign and didn't think the Grima reveal was random or out-of-place. Ofc, problems remain; all the villains except Gangrel and Walhart are god-awful, the reinforcements system is horrible and the lack of originality in chapter missions hurt it. But the good overwrites the bad and I rly enjoyed the game. Fates tries to copy too much from AW and some of those things left a very sour taste in my mouth (especially how children were used). As for the Fates ranking, I hate Revelations. My problem isn't as much the maps, as it is the story, pacing and logic, the latter of which is near-nonexistent. Having a good concept is one thing; executing it properly is another and RV failed hard. It had decent style but awful substance and I hate that in any story. CQ has a more ambitious story than BR and the maps are much better and interesting than BR's average ones; however, I like the entire cast of BR while I only like half of CQ's cast and even then not as much as the BR characters. For me, characters are more important than the story; I much prefer following good characters in a bad story than bad characters in a good story. Another reason why BR = CQ is because of the results of the respective stories. CQ's was more ambitious and interesting, which I appreciate, but it falls flat on several fronts, sometimes to the point of no return. BR's story is average and doesn't take many risks but in return it doesn't fail as hard and isn't as headache-inducing as CQ. Taking risks is good and all, but you trip over and over again, it's not really an achievement. Echoes being the best 3DS FE game is a no-brainer for everything you mentioned and more (I love the dungeon system)
I'm'a be honest. The only 3DS FE games I've played is conquest, but I've watched all of them done in LP'S on youtube, so I'll give my rankings anyways. 1) Valentia 2) Conquest 3) Revelations 4) Birthright 5) Awakening 6) warriors The only one that needs justification is awakening at #5 and my reasoning is that saving the series means literally nothing. I'm studying business at university, and I can tell that Awakening's success was almost entirely marketing, and not the product itself. The reason I have it under all fates games is because pair-up is an absolutely garbo mechanic that they made no attempt to balance. The perfect way to show this us fates's removal of weapon durability. Was it a good idea? No. Did they try to balance it? Yes. Does it detract from the game in the end? I think not. Those questions can't be answered the same way about awakening's pair-up
Awakening is my fav Fe game of all ive played, I don't have to many complaints about it I agree it took a turn downhill but I didn't find it bad. I loved Conquest for how difficult it was, took me a year to beat freaking chap 10 then Hinoka took Me ages. I enjoyed Shadows of Valentina I Just wish Alms path was just as hard as Celicas 1 time vs 3 or 4 times on atleast 10 diff maps, in which I lost. I needa play the other 3, and get a switch for 3 Houses and warriors
Alexander Licentia just keep trying xd don't rely on tanks like Effie, Xander and Shura are your best units if you spared him. Personally what got me through was staying in one place til I killed all units that moved then slowly went up
Kisara Meow When I’ll try that, I’ve been relying on having at least one character survive to make it to the boss and last second seize the objective with barely anyone left, but it hasn’t worked out so far.
Well here's mine 1) revelations (I actually liked all the gimmicky maps and almost all chars in one game. Idk I am weird I guess :/) 2)echoes (story and supports are just amazing and it had interesting and fun gameplay. Unfortunately the map design was… eh…) 3)conquest (AMAZING map design, gameplay and just fun to play, really) 4)birthright (birthright has also interesting maps but not as amazing as conquests and (people will hate me for this) revelations. That doesn't mean they are bad. Heck even for the fates gameplay/unique classes alone it is worth to play the games over and over again imo.) 5)awakening (I liked awakening for the story and some charackters. But the game was even easier then birthright (even on hard mode) and the skill/reclass system is h o t garbage. I am *REALLY* glad that they fixed that in fates) I haven't played warriors so I don't have an opinion on that.
marylovesdavidcook Fanservice is nothing new to FE. The series has been been a dating sim with a fun chess game on the side to mess around with since FE4.
In my case it would be: 1. Fire emblem Echoes 2. Fire emblem Awakening 3. Fire emblem Revelations (Both sides, FEF has mostly not the best story, but I kinda liked Revelations to play, even the weird maps) 4. Fire emblem Fates: Birthright (Love actually most of the characters music, and I enjoyed it actually a lot I like hoshido as design most and the classes) 5. Fire emblem Conquest (Hated most of the maps, some of nohrs characters are annoying to me(in my case Charlotte,Peri) this story was the least enjoyable to me, because it ruined Xander kinda) 6. Fire emblem Warriors (Hyrule warriors is much better, why these new voice actors, the twins are hella annoying) so much for me, can we have more remakes like Echoes please.
"I'm remaking this video because the original is trash"
Probably the best opening line I've heard in a while
you could say the this opening was better than awakening's
Mamodxx ranked list = MasterEnex ranked list
This is not ok... lol
Enex pls
I guess that just means that great minds think alike :^)
MasterEnex a
For me
1 Awakening
2 Echoes
3 Conquest
ofc you put in Alight Storm the best song from Birthright
EJ Lennon is anyone gonna bring up the song from the last chapter from birthright?
Storm is so epic i often play it on full blast LOL!
I'm just her bogyguard."
AnYwAy I talked a lot lolz.
Oh and about Warriors, who cares about its story ? It's a Warriors game. Just punch people in the face. Very enjoyable game btw.
I talked a lot more than I should. JeSuS.
@@pearlgalaxy its ok
Please do a ranking all the Fire Emblem Games (that you played) it would be so cool
I do plan on doing that sometime after FE16 comes out
Mamodxx ok
I picked up Warriors on Switch, and the special edition at that. However, the only reason why I did was because it was on sale, for only $50. I wasn’t planning on getting it originally because it didn’t seem too different from any other Dynasty Warriors game, but once I got it, I actually enjoyed it.
I agree with shadows being at the top because I remember learning about overclassing and I spent days grinding every character up. I loved that new idea they put in the game along with the fact that it was a dlc and not just a part of the game. Along with that, I agree with all of your points.
For me, Worst to Best (Love all of these games a LOT still)
6. Birthright. I loved the music, and atmosphere more than the other two routes, but I had to force myself not to ground because it's to easy
5. Revelations. Same thing as last but more characters (I hate Gunter btw I married Scarlet
4. Awakening. I agree with you, amazing story in the beginning and then it fell off near the end. And the characters I forgot a good few of.
3. Conquest. My favorite gameplay wise, and Nohr had a better cast imo (Laslow, Benny, Leo, Camila (IDGAF ABOUT FAN SERVICE SHE ACTUALLY A GOOD CHARACTER WHEN YOU LOOK INTO HER BACK STORY))
2. Warriors. I LOVE Warrior games. And the voice acting is so nice to hear and characters from one game talking to another about their world is amazing. I'm fine with the clones also because of how the stats work. Some skills and weapon skills etc. stuff fit others better
1. SoV because Fuck You it's good :)
But nah the only problem I had was the once you played it once it's hard to have a different run. The pitchforks are the only way to reclass and they kinda made the unit too strong then. But I think it has the best music, characters, and villains (Next to Sacred Stones I love that game so much please don't try to tell me it's bad I will laser you)
Having just finished Echos, gotta say I loved it.
My List worst to best
5. Shadows of Valentia:
Oh man I absolutely hated the gameplay of this one, probably the only FE I've played that i didn't like the gameplay of. Which is a damn shame because its characters and music easily became my fave in the series
4. Revelations
The maps are pretty gimmicky and the story sucks, not the best one to replay
3. Birthright
The maps in BR are pretty uninteresting but overall its not that bad
2.Awakening
It's pretty good, not great and it certainly has its flaws, but its pretty fun and the music is great
1. Conquest
It's just fun to replay, it's music is great, the gameplay is some of the best in my opinion and the map design is pretty good. Story sucks but i think the gameplay is good enough for me to completely ignore it
Trash is trash no need to explain. If the rest of the FE games are gonna be anything like garbage ass Fates, this series can burn in hell where it belongs.
Tharja No give me actual reasons, you can't call the games trash and not explain why. Why is fates so bad in your opinion
Story trash, characters trash, the game itself is trash.
I just wished more people actually explained why they dislike something as opposed to just throwing their opinion out there
The 3ds Fire emblem games have to be one of the weakest. Poor story, poor maps, unbalanced game play, gimmicks, and split parts.
But your Top 5 Fire Emblem Games is already that
correction, it is the 8th best selling Fire Emblem game every if you add the 3ds and switch together.
Warriors isn't the 3rd best selling game, it sold about 400,000ish. Don't confuse shipments for sales. Props for SoV tho, it's so good.
I've really only played Awakening and SoV, so out of the two I'd have to say Awakening is my favorite. I love SoV's gameplay, I will admit. But do I ever hate the story. It just feels so one note to me. Nothing surprised me and everything happened exactly how that kind of have plays out. Well, except for (spoilers Bellow)
Alm's father being Emperor Rudolf.
If we're talking non heroes, Echoes was my first FE game
Number 1 is Fire Emblem Dates
seriously here we go
6 & 5. I have no experience with Birthright or Revalations so idk
4. Warriors. I don't like hack and slash games tbh but niles is hot so there's that
Biscuit WHYYY don't you mean Fire Emblem harem Royal battle ( ͡◉ ͜ʖ ͡◉).
Boo 👎
The cast doesn't get any better in Awakening?
EXCUSE ME HENRY JOINS IN THE SECOND HALF and some of the children are cool i guess idk
I also feel like that besides the main lords most of the cast is fairly balanced and with the addition of certain new tomes, swords, and bows (especially that new shining bow) pretty much everyone can be viable. except like arthur and odin they really suck
As for Birthright, idk i havent played it geez but Takumi is Innes done right so I'll say that
Biscuit WHYYY Actually, Odin was my best unit in Conquest because I made him a Dark Flier. You also get him really early.
elijah huggins
Really? Interesting. I heard he wasn't good until you reclass him to a swordsman
Henry is the Messiah of that world, I swear. Tiki means nothing when you have Crow Boy.
Biscuit WHYYY What was wrong with Innes to begin with? I personally though he was way better then Takumi.
Here are the objectively best 10 Fire Emblem games:
Sonic and the Black Knight
Crusader Kings 2
XCOM 2
Warcraft 3
Valkyria Chronicles
Shining Force
Smash Brothers 64
Fire Loveblem
Kingdom: Come Deliverance
Skyrim
Bret Ginn fire whatblem?
Vilonosk Fire Loveblem.
What about kirbys dreamland 2?
Samuel Martinez
Nah I think Nightmare in Dreamland was a better FE Game
Bret Ginn really. It's so obvious
Sandra C. ^
Sandra C. Even with that i still agree that celica is kinda dumb ( not that is a bad thing, everyone have silly moments but what breaks celica for me is how the world of echoes treats her like the most perfect and wise person
Sandra C. Oh yeah, I remember that one. Talk about scratching the bottom of the barrel.
My favourite 3DS Fire Emblem game is Smash Bros. for 3DS
Project X Zone 2, that’s the best FE game ever
Goddamnit If they just made an advanced wars for the 3DS.

There's definitely a lot less hate for Awakening than there was in the previous years. It'll be more accepted soon. People are just immature.
Mamodxx I suppose it is a vocal minority at most. But you're right, I'm sure it will go eventually. Like your channel btw, keep up the good work, dude
Tactician Magician point me to the people speaking blasphemy on Lucina 😤😤
"People speaking their hate for Lucina"
And where may I find these "people"? *'sharpens Devil Axe'*
You can find them usually on voting gauntlet related videos. Other than that, whenever I would say her in my own comments the reaction i get is negative. Usually people defending tharja or Lyn

My number one will always be Awakening. I wouldn't be a Fire Emblem fan today if it wasn't for Awakening
Samee!
I had low expectations for Awakening and that game blew me out of the water. Honestly it would be the same if I had high expectations for the game.
That was the FE game that got me into the series as well.

Same, bow.
im starting with conquest and then shadows of valentia
I started with three houses
My list (From Best to Worst):
1. Echoes SOV (good presentation and is the least dumb of the 3DS games)
2. Awakening (good game, but not a good Fire Emblem game)
3. Revelation (at least they tried. Failed, but tried. Also I liked having a large cast to choose from)
4. Conquest (I don't know what it is, but every time I play this one all my units get totally RNG screwed. I can't damage the enemy with Resistance and nothing else. Also bad story)
5. Birthright (I remember literally nothing from this game, despite playing it twice)
Captain Astronaut While I love the Warriors gameplay they should've had more Characters from games that weren't Shadow Dragon, Awakening, and Fates.
Captain Astronaut
I felt the gameplay in Echoes was pretty dumb.
As long as Conquest is above the other two routes Im fine with anything...
I didn't get disappointed. Good video!
All 3 are garbage ass games

@@AnnalinaSR21 yeah Fates is complete trash
Lmao I started with echoes and could never understand why people shit on the map design but after playing a lot more fire emblem games and coming back to echoes very recently I can completely understand. Still my favourite game out of them all tho
As much as I think of Fates as an average series of games, I don’t think warriors should be higher. Y’know, cause it’s a dynasty warriors game, not a FE game.
Thomas Molina agree
agree I mean it is a 3ds version which is cringe.
And it's shit. I love FE, love hack and slash but FE Warrior's is shit in every way.
Same, ain't played it but this is how I feel bout hyrule warriors. They are fun games but they're not *zelda* games, it's a dynasty game with a zelda skin
My own ranking
01 Fates (all three ways are part of one great game)
02 Awakening
03 Echoes
04 Warriors (which shouldn’t be on this list because it’s a Dynasty Warriors game, not a Fire Emblem game)
Shadows of Valentina’s art style and character design had me in love from the get go. It’s so beautiful.
1. Awakening
2. Conquest
3. Echoes
4. Revelations
5. Birthright
I can’t be the only one that really likes the map design in SoV. I don’t know, it just seems like an actual war and I really like that.
My favourite will prob always be awakening, got me into the series and ive played it at least 13 times at this point. Honestly there all great games, i think my least fav is Shadows just because those maps were such a slog to get through. Even then its still great

SharpFE Gamer How you gonna rate Echoes 2nd when it's your profile pic. Lol jk, but I mostly agree, I enjoyed Echoes the most, it reminded me of the old Fire Emblem games I fell in love with.

Thank you
Awakening gets too much hate.
Let's be real, you only like rev because you can make your ships real
U can ship a furry with a dragon thats epic!
Completely agreed
i agree with all of this mostly because FE really needed something fresh for the combat system and not something stupid like adding magic, bows, and daggers/concealed weapons to the weapon triangle.
555redkid Dude you want easy? Just get Xander and Charlotte to an S support and you just beat the game on lunatic (both conquest and revelations)
Zach Carter Yeah, they make quite a pair together too. I do remember her being quite useful to Xander during my harder Conquest runs...
555redkid I do however agree with you, f**k Siegbert's paralougue.

Elliepopcorn bruh as someone who loves echoes conquest maps are 10 times better
yea, it's not great. Still better than all of Celica's side tho.

MrToonlink53 yeah the map design is its primary downfall and that's a large part of the game.
Docaccino I thought Awakening maps were more bland then outright terrible like SoV's maps
I dont get it do you like Echoes the best because of how the gameplay mechanics are in Awakening and Fates?
Awakening
Echoes

#6 Warriors- I just didn't like Warriors on the 3ds, its so much better on the Switch, and even then the story is crap and boring
#5 Conquest- Goddamn fuck this story, just fuck this story, sure its maps are better but no tge story just sucks, My only reason that makes me choose Nohr is Leo ( shut up man he just needs love)
#4 Revelations- I think its better than CQ only cause at least some of its maps are fun to play and while its story sucks its not ome to piss ypu off as much as CQ does at least imo
#3 Echoes- ITS NOT THAT GREAT, Its a good game one of FE best but its still got WAY to much wrong with it, ITS MAPS ARE SO FUCKING BAD
#2 Birthrighy - It has the most induring story of yhe 3 Fates games, While its not a good story its not irritating or pisses you off, God its music is so good, its characters design and everything
#1 Awakening- I just love Awakenings beginning story, and whike its a bit shoehorned in Grima was still good ( remove Walhart) and its music isnt as good as Birthright its still amazing( looking at you ID Purpose)

If Echoes wasn’t number 1 you wouldn’t be my dad anymore

Warriors is dynasty warrior trash
can i as? why is echoes your favorote, you probably are going to say because the story but i want to know why is so special to you because i don't see the appeal
While I do love all games featured on this list, Shadows of Valentia just didn't do it for me as well as Fates and Awakening did. The plot, while extremely well presented, felt very standard overall and my gosh those maps were just...ugh!
Don't get me wrong, Fire Emblem Echoes is an amazing game and is a must buy if you love Fire Emblem but for me, I actually walked away feeling less satisfied than from what I got from Awakening and Fates.
tbh my number 1 is awakening, it's such a good a game
I'm probably the only person in existence who loved Revels weird ass map design. Except the elevator map. We can all agree that the map can burn. I loved the attempt at a stealth chapter and the whole thing taking islands and such into concept. God. I'd kill to see more like it. It makes me take certain units and try to think who I should divide up into teams. Whether I should use pair up or not. Stuff like this.
Benjamin Abiyakiy if you look at stealth... fe 5 did it first.... so no inovation here...
wackpendejo3000 I get that Thracia did it first.
Here is my list:
6. Revelation: story and gameplay are both trash
5. Conquest: good gameplay, but the story was an oof
4. FE Warriors: preety good game, but the switch version is visually better
3. Birthright: for newer players this is an amazing game. Has the best story in fates. Gameplay was preety lame, but it is good enough for newer players
2. Awakening: It isn't known as the game to save the series for no reason
1. Echoes: Everthing about it is good except for Alm's character and the maps
How do you dislike Alm?
Awakening is my fave 3ds emblem
Not counting Revelation because I haven't played it.
Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest (Despite the story issues, this is my favorite FE game and one of my favorite games in general.)
Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia (Great cast, fun gameplay, and possibly the best writing in any FE game.)
Fire Emblem Awakening (Not much to say other than I love the characters and the gameplay.)
Fire Emblem Warriors (Some of the WORST writing in the series, but damn is it fun to play!)
Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright (Medicore with a side of meh.)

3. Revelation
4. Awakening

Birthright is my favourite mostly from nostalgia since it's the first Fire Emblem game I ever picked up (Heroes doesn't count here) and I just really liked the gameplay, the characters and (God save me) Corrin, because they just kinda clicked with me. Leo is best Fates character, and not because husbando.

Warriors isn't even worth mentioning as it is a Dynasty Warriors game with Fire Emblem skins and not an actual Fire Emblem game.
Switch Birthright with Revelations and you'd have my list.
Rundas preach
My top 5:
5. Revelation
4. Conquest
3. Birthright
2. Awakening
1. Echoes
I find it hard to put Warriors on the list due to the difference in genre, but if I had to, it'd be either 3rd or 2nd. I like warriors games a lot, and despite the story being predicatable, and the fates section sucking harder than a horny octopus, the rest of it i found enjoyable. The cast has problems, clones are a problem, ESPECIALLY in the DLC, those have no excuses, but the ones in the base game i dont mind as much, quality over quantity, (the obvious HW comparison will come up, and I found that I enjoyed playing as less than a third of the movesets in HW, despite putting 174 hours into it, and for those who ask, i have 210 hours in FEW)
Reasons for the fates listing: The Map design really doesnt feel that different to me... like i didnt feel like conquests maps were that much better than birthrights, they were, but not by much, Rev on the other hand i do get the difference, being that 90% of them just need to stop with the gimmicks.
And while birthrights plot is safe, I don't like either of Conquests or revs plots, and a bad plot in my eyes is worse than a safe plot.
Also REV and CON SPOILERS:
Both kill off my girl Scarlet, one in the most dumb fashion possible, and the other in an unceremonious offscreen death in one of the dumbest sections of the game IMO
SPOILERS OVER
Awakening has a good first third of the story, but I barely care about any of the first generation characters, whereas I love a lot of the second gen characters, the game is very unbalanced, but as someone who enjoys finding ways to break game balance and such, you can start a new playthrough and break it in an entirely different way, which i do enjoy, so bias bonus points.
Echoes actually looks kind of cool. I want to play it soon.
In my case the 3DS cast would be:
I love fates for its story and music
Awakening was heartwarming with support convos
Warriors... 3DS version sucked
Shadows nice gameplay and somewhat free roam
My list:
1 Awakening
2 Warriors
3 Echoes
4 Conquest
5 Revelations
6 Birthright
Also, FE aint Pokemon.
Pokemon is where the company sells ya the same game with the only difference between the versions is the kind of pokemon that are exclusive to that version over not.
1. Fire Emblem Fates
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
The rest don't matter
Alexie Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Agreed
Great joke fam
Yikes.
Alexie something tells me this was the only fe game you pla-
Oh wait nvm I think it's just a troll
Imo Echoes is only better than the previous in story and the effort that went into making it feel real. I also appreciate the forge and all those FE staples that were really improved upon previous iterations. Dungeons are also freaking awesome, I want more of that in the future.
I'm more leaning on the game play side when I think a good FE game. Frankly put, it's core gameplay feels like child's play next to the complexity of the Fates games. I never felt I had to think too much, and Echoes hard mode felt no more difficult than normal mode.
Awakening and Echoes are by far my favorite.
My personal list:
1.) Fire Emblem Echoes:Shadows of Valentia
2.) Fire Emblem Fates:Conquest
3.) Fire Emblem Awakening
4.)Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright
5.)Fire Emblem Warriors
6.) Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation
Basically, I almost agree with the list
When I first played Fates, Corrin‘s decisions made sense, since I hadn’t had that many situations that were dire (my parents are a bit protective). But as I grew to know the internet, I realized how some of the decisions weren’t smart. But, I liked it. Fates was my first FE game (yeah, I didn’t start at Awakening. Shush)
1. Awakening
2. Shadows of Valentia
3. Revelations
4. Warriors
5. Birthright
6. Conquest
Most of Conquest hate is pointless anyway. It doesnt deserve it.
Haven't played warriors, so I'll be ranking the games I've played.
1- Shadows of Valentia
2- Conquest
3- Awakening
4- Birthright
5- Revelations
My list is actually pretty similar, but switched Birthright with Revelations.
My ranking is:
Echoes >>> Awakening > Conquest = Birthright >> Revelation (haven't played Warriors)
The reason I put AW over all of Fates is because, in my eyes, both games tried to do things, and Fates failed at them more than AW.
1) Valentia
2) Conquest
3) Revelations
4) Birthright
5) Awakening
6) warriors
The only one that needs justification is awakening at #5 and my reasoning is that saving the series means literally nothing.
I'm on hinoka's map right now, conquest is my first fe game so it's extra challenging. (any tips?)
Kisara Meow also of course I spared him, he’s just a little behind the main team.
Well here's mine
1) revelations (I actually liked all the gimmicky maps and almost all chars in one game. Idk I am weird I guess :/)
2)echoes (story and supports are just amazing and it had interesting and fun gameplay. Unfortunately the map design was… eh…)
3)conquest (AMAZING map design, gameplay and just fun to play, really)
4)birthright (birthright has also interesting maps but not as amazing as conquests and (people will hate me for this) revelations. That doesn't mean they are bad. Heck even for the fates gameplay/unique classes alone it is worth to play the games over and over again imo.)
5)awakening (I liked awakening for the story and some charackters. But the game was even easier then birthright (even on hard mode) and the skill/reclass system is h o t garbage. I am *REALLY* glad that they fixed that in fates)
I haven't played warriors so I don't have an opinion on that.
Marketting saved the franchise.
Come on, give Awakening some merit
You know marketing can only do so much. See last year's the mummy starring Tom cruise
Samuel Martinez fine. It gave us Gangrel and Excellus. There's your merit.
Luna's Peridot Marketting and fanservice saved the franchise*
marylovesdavidcook Fanservice is nothing new to FE. The series has been been a dating sim with a fun chess game on the side to mess around with since FE4.
In my case it would be:
1. Fire emblem Echoes
2. Fire emblem Awakening
3. Fire emblem Revelations
(Both sides, FEF has mostly not the best story, but I kinda liked Revelations to play, even the weird maps)
4. Fire emblem Fates: Birthright
(Love actually most of the characters music, and I enjoyed it actually a lot
I like hoshido as design most and the classes)
5. Fire emblem Conquest
(Hated most of the maps, some of nohrs characters are annoying to me(in my case Charlotte,Peri)
this story was the least enjoyable to me, because it ruined Xander kinda)
6. Fire emblem Warriors (Hyrule warriors is much better, why these new voice actors,
the twins are hella annoying)
so much for me, can we have more remakes like Echoes please.
