Lolz! - I cant see why a hand full of sad-sacks would 'dislike' a video that shows you how to make a fabulous new cook stove that is powered by the raked up rubbish from your yard!
TinyHouse and Offgrid Resources Great idea! I may attempt to make one, but I may try interchangeable grill plates to also use as enclosed type Bbq. One side had the grill ridges and other side is a griddle that can also be used as griddle or burner surface for pots. I may even build a warming oven in the back by leaving a small damper with tiny holes at the rear that can be opened up while its cooling down. You have inspired me for sure!
That is a new twist on rocket stoves nice build . Even the welds look like they will hold haha. A welder joke. I just retired from 47 yrs in the trade.
Best rocket stove set up I've ever seen, nicely done! I especially love the various heat levels. All good cooks putting a large meal together know how important that is.
Thank you very much! and I totally agree- Im very pleased with it. The Combination Char BBQ- Pizza Oven- wood fired Cookstove that Im about to unveil will blow you away!
I just discovered rocket stoves recently. I had a similar idea as the model that you have built. Yours works beautifully! It is exactly what I had envisioned!
Wheres this page? for straight out heat, a long insulated riser has always been the go , But really who cooks at 900f !? I knew that a long heat path would be good for cooking multiple pots but I wanted to come up with something compact. Im perfecting an oven for it now -look at the latest videos . Ill be doing a full how to vid with all the measurements as soon as Im sure its as good as I can get it
There’s a project in Mexico bringing this type of rocket stoves to use at home, to use in place of the three rock fires that they use. You should check it out, they are made of clay but work the same way as yours does. Fantastic to cook for large families. Great video, would’ve liked to see the inside to see how it works. Keep those videos coming mate. Thumbs up!
I found the opposite to be true in the fuel consumption area when burning in a rocket stove, I could go through a stack of wood in about an hour because the fire is so intense. Very nice idea with the stove you built, the u-shape under the cooking surface is good engineering!
Excellent idea. Looks like a wood burning copy of a US military small unit stove from the 40s-50s. But with a few improvements us the wood burning part. Really nice
That is a most impressive piece of kit. I like how the pots get to stay clean, compared with the conventional rocket stoves. Congratulations on making it work FIRST TIME.. That was one of the problems when designing the first aircraft!
ok, now i'm gonna need like a 4" oven underneath it so I can bake.- Pizzas. Biscuits. Thanks. Excellent stove build. I really need to learn how to weld.
Very cool. I was watching a video the other day and they made a Dakota fire hole which just looked to me like a dug out hole formed like a rocket stove. Very handy camping/survival.
awsome stove im totally impressed with it...ive made rocket stoves in the past for back packing and it works great for 1 pan ,,, your stove is gonna go into my motorhome
That is a cool design. I want to make a prototype stove with my everlast welder and some scrap metal I've got around. Once I get the design down make it with some better materials.
Very nice, best design so far and very simple idea, lots of places in the world would love to have one of these. Could be modified for any configuration, add other additions such as heating water or, an oven, could add a damper, test out the control of heat. makes me want to take up welding.
That's pretty effective and very efficient. I use the small branches off the tree and hedge cuttings to fire in mine also. Probably this is the best I have seen actually and I've seen tons on U tube. You had it down draughting as well with the plate on the back.Well done will have a go at this because it's like having a 4 burner gas stove all on separate heat settings. The heat bricks do look like they make the difference, also forces the heat closer to the plate. Great in SHTF scenario.
One thought what about an ash pan under the firebox lets it drop through a grill into an enclosed pipe for cleaning out, the problem for mine is eventually the pipe becomes clogged with ash so have to rake it out just wondering if the inner fire box on yours will accumulate ash in and around the fire bricks. If its hot enough there shouldn't be a build up with ash. Idea is to burn it down to minimal ash residue by the time it gets to flue pipe. Don't talk to me about rain we've had enough for this winter thanks.
Bill Porter that's what I do. I've put a brick just before the u bend and it stops the ash going all the way around. I just rake it out the side air flap. I'm putting an oven underneath next week so I can't have a ashpan without getting dirty pizza.
TinyHouse and Offgrid Resources I'm in the so called Super City north of you and looking to break out sometime in the new year.after I retire. I saw your home made crimper and it brought smile on my face, typical kiwi with #8 fencing wire mentality, if you don't have one make one lol worked a treat. Ahh so you created an ash trap inside the heat chamber, like it. I was wondering why the heat bricks didn't run round the whole chamber. Now it makes sense.
Is a good stove..Insulate the walls and bottom. IF they are not and they are hot to the touch then is heat you are losing that is not reflected on the top. Do bricks inside or frame with clay or some insulating material outside. Let only the top surface hot and all heat will only be sent there since it cannot escape alsewhere.
Remember the old wood kitchen stoves with covered holes? They were "almost" rocket stoves. Several years ago I saw a Russian R.S. that "reinvented" that design. If you can submerge pots into the firebox the heat transfer is maximized. Your use of fire bricks to line the firebox is a nice touch many overlook. It greatly extends the stove life and contains heat. I would have put in a slanted, taller feeder channel for "load & leave".
There are a number of designs out there which use the sunk pot approach. Apprevecho institute had a number of stuff and oven designs worth looking at for ideas. The developed a commercial kitchen sized skiryed stove to boil water in large pots. As well as a low cost barrel oven for baking bread.
From what I've seen, pellet hoppers are a little tricky and may need an electric auger to evenly dispense the pellets and keep them from clumping. Will be curious to see how you adapt the design.
If you added insulation around the outside and on the bottom of your stove it would warm it up a bit more I would think. Plus, it would push the warmer temperatures more around the stove. At least it seems it would to me.
Lovely video mate. If you make another one, how about setting the perimeter flanges off your cooking plate face down. My suggestion will allow your pots, pans and the kettle to slightly overlap the edge so it's easier to use. Thanks for posting
Some years back I wanted to build me my own rocket cookstove, but I never got around to getting a welder or learning to weld. The biggest flaw I see with your design is the draft doesn't seem overly good which is letting smoke escape back out the feed tube. Perfectly fine for outdoor use, but if someone wanted to build a "summer kitchen" and bring the cookstove indoors, that would make the kitchen smoky. With that design, it could probably be fixed by using double-wall chimney pipe. That might just be enough draft to keep the smoke going in the right direction.
Yes I see you have the welding skills after watching your tiny house build in two weeks. Always interested in cheap energy production devices. fascinated with the rocket stoves.
NOVA = NO Volts or Amps You are the developer but... What if you made the stove only as wide (or less) than the biggest pot. Then you make the stove long enough for three or four pots. The temperature gradient would go from high to low in a smooth, linear way. Final dimensions, insulation and locating the firebox (high or low) are for the builder. What a cool build!
I agree. I love cooking with mine but it's not easy to Carry around. It's heavy and the bricks move. I'm just uploading vids now about the new version. Built on a trolley in aircrete. Real easy for anyone to copy
This is by far, none even close, to a "Wife Friendly" attractive Rocket Cook Stove. I'd love to have one. I'd use a Coleman Camping oven to place on the grill for any Oven requirements. If it were for sale, I'd buy it. My only metal working equipment is an old arc welder from when I raced cars. If plans were available, I'd buy them then find a local shop to fabricate this.
This is awesome! You could put one of those fans that run off of heat and blow that heat in the rest of the area! Love it! This could be fitted into and out my kitchen! How much would you charge to make and ship to New York?
This is so cool I just had to subscribe to see if u have any other cool ideas, was gonna ask if u had a video showing the inside but as I was scrolling down to comment I think I saw a video of it and will watch, I will have to find someone to wield this up for me, thank u
Check out my latest videos- Im building the NEW VERSION right now- videos added every few days.😛
@Ciaran Rooney see pinned post
Awesome
I'm using an gas camping stove currently , but plan to migrate to twig rocket stove
Please upload your 2019 footage to bitchute
Check out my prototype flat rocket stove still needs some work any suggestions would be more than welcome Bobby Martin UK
Do you have a blueprint that you csn share, would love to try this out. Awesome build by the way
I like that rocket stove development is open to anyone to improve on. It will keep getting better every year and is a gift to humanity.

TinyHouse and Offgrid Resources 30 bureaucrats from the power company no doubt
That’s a great design idea. For an off grid summer kitchen for me in Canada, this would be perfect. Kudos to you.
This is the best design I've seen yet, love it!! Thank you
This was the prototype - Im just building a brick version with oven that you can build yourself with simple concreting tools. Its EPIC!

I have a similar design about 10 years ago.
Thanks for sharing!!
That's very nice. I'm going to try it.
The pork Sausages are getting me hungry.
Nice job! Reposted on my Community page! This is a fantastic design!

Very nice. Would be awesome to see a breakdown or at least opened up so we can see the internals of the build. Great looking setup!
Coming soon .
I hope so

I'm quite familiar with rocket stoves and this is one of the best adaptations that I have seen.

Just amazing! I really need one of those.
You kind sir are amazing! You deserve millions of subscribers! I think your on your way!
I could listen to you ALL day! Amazing product and love your cheeky idea for the name..hehe
'Sweepings from ya yaaard' is now stuck in my head!
Hi Helen- I hope you subscribed?- Im almost back into stoves here as our summer comes to an end. more videos coming soon
@@t.h.o.r. yes I am already subribed! Brill, looking forward to the videos!
we need an international rocket stove show
Like it, draw up plans comrade. Many people could benefit from your experiment!
Great JOB! I want to make one. Do you have the plans?
Your definitely a tall poppy! Great work, efficient and comfortable to cook with!
ok, now i'm gonna need like a 4" oven underneath it so I can bake.- Pizzas. Biscuits. Thanks. Excellent stove build. I really need to learn how to weld.
Excellent design and construction. Might have to break down and build one of these for myself!
The best one I've seen yet and the best commentary, nice one pal atb from Glasgow Scotland
The best I found yet.
Now this is pretty cool how about a video on how you built the bloody thing !
Very cool. I was watching a video the other day and they made a Dakota fire hole which just looked to me like a dug out hole formed like a rocket stove. Very handy camping/survival.
A very efficient use of the heat produced, yes others have similar ideas but still this is a nice stove.
Great design! Making a variable heat space to do your cooking as you don't always want to be cooking on a "rocket engine". Thanks for the video.
Great design, and video. Looking forward to more.
Thank you Carl. Im just dragging my first ever Rocket Stove out for you to look at. stay watching
Excellent idea, I love the ridiculous efficiency.
Great job and pleasant vid. Thanks! Quite ingenious.
Fabulous Fabulous Fabulous bloody awesome mate!
Cudos to your ingenuity! I'd like one.
awsome stove im totally impressed with it...ive made rocket stoves in the past for back packing and it works great for 1 pan ,,, your stove is gonna go into my motorhome
I certainly like that!
Very nice. Great design! Thank you for sharing
Seriously well done!!
And we have a winner. Need to add a water warmer. Great video,Thank you.
Right now im playing with tiny meths stoves made from soda cans- faster boil than on the gas ring!

Great project!!!
Great stove,gives me some ideas.Thanks
I absolutely want one of these-this would be an ultimate camp stove.
It’s magic !! Perfect job !!
Im well chuffed with the stove itself- Ive now made a brick version with an oven vid coming in a couple of weeks.
Just had a look at the other design mentioned. This one is a more permanent design, with interior firebrick pathways. Nice.
Top kit I made something similar about 5 years ago but yours looks better and more portable well done
watch the next vids for more info
Best thing since sliced bread.

I really like this design well thought out, could you hook this up to produce an out door shower setup?
Potato’s boiling, fire roaring, sausages simmering.... I’m hungry
love this!
Very impressive!
Form up a sheet metal box with piano hinges for folding up to place on top and you could dehydrate foods ,or use as an oven . nice design !
