A lot of people think Luffy‘s dream is the biggest party in the world. But if you look at the reactions of every straw hat, I think it has to be more than that. It will be something that no one of us can imagine.
Over 1000 episodes into the series and we still don't know the main goal of the MC. I love how Oda takes his time with the story, it makes the payoffs so damn fulfilling
To have a dream, that has everyone laughing and mind blown because they think it’s an impossible feat, and to think Shanks teared up! Luffy’s mind and imagination has always been out this world 😂. Thousands of episodes later and we still don’t know his real dream…crazy
Shanks teared up because Luffy said the same thing Roger did, he told that to Rayleigh when he met him in Sabaody. Luffy's dream I believe is the very reason Shanks choosed to give him the hat.
nah completing a goal doesnt make you cry. Finding a person who reminds you of and says the same thing as a mentor, a loved one long lost in combination that elicits these tears. Just a thought.@@migueltrinidad736
The fact that all the strawhats are taken aback by whatever he says after knowing him so well is what makes it so mysterious and jarring, and that Everyone had the same reaction when Roger said it as well. Ussop saying "it's impossible" to Luffy really says a lot in this scene
I never realized until this episode that the cliff Luffy jumped off of in the first opening was the same cliff where he proclaimed his dream to Sabo and Ace. 😢 How does One Piece keep hitting me?
Tears. Chills. Joy. This reminded me of the beginning and the amazing journey it took to get here. The crew being the crew. Frank and Brook’s tears. Zoro keeping them all level headed. Amazing

What a beautiful scene. This series time and time again never fails to remind me of the journey we've all taken along with Luffy himself. It's been about 10 years since I started OP. Growing alongside the cast makes this so much more impactful. This means something to me.

The best part of Luffy's Dream is that it's something so simple and childish yet it somehow escapes us. It's an answer that's probably right in front of us but we still don't see it. And we know that the moment it's revealed it's probably something we once related to as kids, that we can't help but laugh at how silly, ridiculous, and simple it is. And that's what makes this secret genuinely wonderful.

It’s been a very long journey watching and reading this amazing story. We’re really getting towards the end here now. Toei did an amazing job with this scene.
A lot of people say Luffy's dream is to party with everyone in the world, and while that's fitting of him, I'm not so sure precisely BECAUSE that is fitting. Everyone's reaction seems to be shock and amusement, like they never expected it from Luffy but only he could say something so crazy. Usopp's reaction also makes it seem just too far out there, beyond even world peace. I have a feeling Luffy's dream involves changing the world in a big way
This scene summarised all these 20+ years I've watched One Piece in the most beautiful way possible! It's a reminder of that our dreams will never die!
I truely believe Luffy's dream is something impossibility yet so simple. Based on what hes been doing throughout the world and most recently in Wano, I think his dream is that he wants himself and everyone to simply be free. Channeling the Nika side of him
It must be simple enough for him to express it when he was still a little kid, but also "crazy" enough that even adults have this kind of reaction...hmmm.
I love these type of straw hats moments they're just hanging out and getting to know each other a little bit more because despite being family, you never know EVERYTHING about people
Some people criticise them adding a new dream for Luffy, but this makes sense. Shanks told Rayleigh he was impressed because Luffy said the same words Roger said, but I'm sure there are countless people who say they will be king, so it must have been something more unique that impressed Shanks.
one thing i love is how the two most childish strawhats not counting luffy (chopper and robin) seem almost excited by what he says (although robin schools her expression a bin) it kinda fits how roger was told whatever it was was a boys fantasy
U could narrow down what would be Luffy's dream based on the reactions of each crew member. Example what would made Franky, Sanji and Brook laugh, the concern in Ussop's reaction (he did not laugh), etc.
See, what gets me is Robin's expression. It's surprised, yes! But there is an understanding in her eyes, like something just clicked in her head at that moment.
We get goose bumps with a simple verse of the first opening... Whether it's 5 or 25 years before the end of One Piece, we're not even remotely ready for it.
I bet Mayumi and the rest of the Japanese voice actors of the strawhats must know the weight of this scene, they're really are in the endgame of this story and everyone will not be ready to see "The End" after 25+ years of adventure
I’m convinced the treasure in laugh tale is a rocket ship of sorts that requires luffy’s power to utilize it. Luffy as a child, when talking to Ace and Sabo about his dream, was looking at the sky. He was trying to one up his brothers. When Luffy mentioned his dream to the crew in Wano, he was laying down looking up to the sky! What dream could a child think of?! Going into space! Luffy’s dream is to be an Astronaut. Astronaut is Greek for star sailor. He wants to sail the stars. Look at the individual expressions from each crew member when Luffy mentioned his dream and it aligns with how each member would attribute to the trip. The thousand sunny has a questionable expression like how am I gonna do this? Jinbe is interested and Franky is excited since he is the tech one. I believe luffy’s trip to the moon will align with Enel’s story, the lunarian, and the eternal flame. Roger was laughing because it’s ridiculous to think of going into space even for the world that one piece takes place in. Roger said they were too early because they don’t have the ability to power the ship. They had to wait for the nika fruit to make it’s appearance!
Zoro, the first on his crew, reacts, then Jimbe, his final crew member, and they go in order of who joined going forward and back until they get to Chopper and Robin! Poetic!
The over teenage (Nami, Sanji, Ussop and even Zoro) reacts as if it were something really childish, like “are you serious?” The youngest and innocent (Chopper) reacts with admiration with no doubt at all The olders (Robin, Brook, Franki, Jimbe) take it seriously, they accepting the fact that he’s being really serious about it
Luffys dream > The one piece I can honestly say if I had to choose between the two, knowing what my favorite character of all time’s dream takes priority.
This is the episode I got caught up on. I was binging the series and trying to get it done before Egghead. When this rendition of We Are started playing I was in shock. Roger kind of did the same thing, instead of just keeping it for him and the crew, he just gave everyone the opportunity to find it, and started a new era! And Luffy's dream surely is crazy and impossible enough to be shocked and laugh!
I definitely think going to space is at least one of Luffy's goals, if not his main dream. If the series ends with him leaving the planet and taking the One Piece with him, he would begin an age of space exploration that would dwarf the great age of piracy in scale.

100% IM SO CONFUSED
The easiest pathway to answer this surrounds with Shanks, Ace, and SaBo.
Okay bro pfp is wild
BOOBA
@@donlee.4308I bet is what that shark man did for boa and the others luffy dream is somehow going to help others even tho he himself didn't plan to like what the old who drunks luffy will be the one is going to shake everything its makes more sense now why red hair shanks his movements throughout the show so secret he helping luffy getting ready I can't wait to see everything unfold
This reminds me of how well done the "He Laughed" scene was
Oh, this is so beautiful! I didn't expect to hear We are again!😊😊😊
I think his dream is everyone to be friends
0:04 ❤❤❤❤😭😭😭😭😭😭 MDS!!
This scene and Roger's Laughtale scene, although short, have some kind of magic and feeling that is impossible not to feel nostalgia. It's like watching a loved one leave in slow motion.
Criminal how you left out the last line…”that’s what I want at the end of my dream” 🙃
I wonder what he say, just look at everyones reactions
Zoro, robin and nami were surprised
Jimbe was in chock
Franky, brook and sanji laughed
Chopper was just happy
And considering usopps reaction it was something really big
As new fan to one piece(been on for 6 years) I feel bad to those who didn’t make this far, I wish I can spoiler when I see you all again.
"I want to turn the world upside down"
Breaking the Redline and turning the world into one piece
This is what I hope it is, with one of the mythical weapons from the void century. But kid luffy would never think of this
@@jacobisweird280 yeah, of course kid Luffy had no idea of the big picture, and neither does current Luffy. But his natural instincts would of pushed him, unknowingly, into doing something that would change the world physically.
That's his real power, he's lucid dreaming without realising he is and bending the world to his dreams as he does.
A stupid dream he has a child turning out to be exactly what that world needs to return to a balanced state feels like how Luffy's story would end.
Luffy's dream is: I want all people dream's to become true.
"I... want to be the Sun of the world!"
