@jules2545 Cheers, I was actually born in London, moved here when I was a kid. Went back last month and gained 5lbs of weight from all the amazing food
@jules2545 I am surprised no one else copied the product and made a cheap knock off. I imagine they think not enough hobbyist would purchase them but I disagree, most hobbyist would want a seaswirl device if they where around $100
Fantastic design and great to see it in action and what it consists of. 👍 Been planning a similar thing. Just about exactly like you have the pump below the water level in the back. However instead of this piping and outlets coming from on top i was thinking of having a pipe going inside the tank to the back and bottom and having multiple random flow generators blowing between rock bommies and behind them. Perhaps i go with your way of doing it. 🤔
Thanks, The way you mentioned is a good way too do it - aslong as you have the depth to make it work. However, after seeing mine in action it has no issues getting flow to the back everywhere in the tank. Plus I like the ability to customize it as needed. Also, not a fan of those random flow generators, there is no velocity that comes out of those and they reduce the flow same way as a valve does, I think just ramping the flow up and down is more the sufficient to get random flow.
Nicely done Sir. Very much agree with your ideas on the powerheads in the tank. I plan to do a center tower overflow box and add similar outlets for the inline recirculating system on the center tower, the conceal everything with epoxied rocks to make the tower and water outlets look like little caves in the rockwork. I’m a big proponent of no visible pumps or tubes. Love this hobby for the creativity. Questions. Any issues with your overflow not pulling the surface film out as I’ve got a peninsula tank and if the powerheads pointed up they could drive the surface gunk away from the overflow box. Looks like you probably have so much agitation that it isn’t a problem.
It has no problem with removing junk from the top. I will say I did have to play around with the positions of the outlets to achieve this as initially I found the left side tend to build up surface gunk. I never have the seaswirls pointing at each other. When one is pointing at the back glass the other one is pointing towards the length of the tank. Aslong as you have options to play around with the outlets and everything is stiring crap will find the overflow or a dead spot on the rock
See link below. These things increase velocity pretty good, probably 6 feet. www.bulkreefsupply.com/cpr-threaded-eductor.html?ab_version=A&EL+%7C+ACQ_Prospecting_PMax+%7C+ROAS+%7C+Open+Targets+%7C+Low+Margin&hsa_acc=7373341438&hsa_cam=17740353356&hsa_grp=&hsa_ad=&hsa_src=x&hsa_tgt=&hsa_kw=&hsa_mt=&hsa_net=adwords&hsa_ver=3&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0ruyBhDuARIsANSZ3wqloSTJdiunFM2AbXpn_irHDcF86xwerXYYZyq7dyuRNuXUw7lci5oaAhvqEALw_wcB
@andibandi1190 yeah I definitely could use some flow on the bottom. Only thing that's holding me back is I don't want to look at those pipes. Maybe ones things are grown in it won't matter
I got them 3 years ago...Go to sea swirls aquarium currents website and msg them. I am sure they will be back eventually. Parts can't be on back order forever
In all my years of following reefing (and now a successful reef of my own), I'd never imagined running a closed loop OVER the tank. Brilliant!! 👍
And this is my first closed loop ever. It just gives so much flow bc of the lack of head pressure
Really cool. Nice to see a smart OG system.
Thanks😁
Wow, that looks impressive
Thanks Sir!
Damn that's cool, didn't even know about closed loop systems but it's fantastic
Thanks Bro!
Great job for union work and all😂 great job keep it up 👍
Thanks 😅
Hats off to you for your ingenuity. Its a shame sea swirls never really took off here in the UK.

@@AquariumSurge LOL, whats the price of a sea swirl where you are?
@jules2545 3/4" are $455 right now. I think when I got them they were around $300
Very cool 👌👏
Thanks for sharing 🙌🔥💯👏
Thanks Pal!
Beautiful set up
Thanks

@@AquariumSurge - Do you need to somehow prime the pump?
@@mikkostenberg1740 No, if your inlet is above waterline than you have to prime.
Like it keep up the good work
Thanks Wayne!
Ingenious...
Thanks!!!
Good info in this video. How did you mount the canopy over the tank? Is the tank holding all the weight of the canopy and lights? Thank you.
The front two corners are holding the weight and the back is bolted to the wall

What are the return nozzles. I have never seen them b4. Where did you get them.

Poof! Just like that you made virtually every other marine aquarium look like amateur hour! Super impressive!
Thank you! But trust me my tank ain't all that yet! lol
you could also pass a pipe or tube of a closed loop through the substrate

@@AquariumSurge I had a Jaubert System with 4+ inch substrate, so the tube was well hidden and never shoved up🤡
Where did u get the sea swirl i can’t find them anywhere

sorry, how do you push the air into the flow? i wanted to check my tank water flow.
If you watch the video closing before the bubbles, You will see me using a turkey baster by the inlet.
Sea swirls have power cords.
Yeah true that, but at least they don't have those bulky power supplies and controllers.
