Hello, I just got this and when I play this, it comes up region locked. I thought all 4Ks were region free lol. I wonder if they're starting to region lock these. Never a had an issue with importing before.
I think I might have mentioned it in my video that it was region loocked but at the time it was only a rumor because as you know all 4K discs are region free. It's obviously to do with the label who brought it out. I think they done a version of saw x and that's apparently region locked as well. It's definitely not a thing. It's just that company. Hopefully you can leave it back and get your money.
@millerman9991 Oh wow. Thanks for the info! I'm new to collecting 4Ks and just recently found your awesome channel. I'M looking to get a region free player soon, so I should be good. Thanks and keep up the great work!
@tay2157 absolutely no problem at all it's my pleasure. I'm hoping to pick up a region free player myself someday. At least then we won't have to worry about any of this. Thank you by the way for the incredibly kind words. I really appreciate it and I hope to hear more from you in the future
I read that the 4K disc in this release is region B locked. There is a 4K release from Finland that is region free but that release does not have any special features.
The company that brought out this edition they also done a release for saw x and I was told that was apparently region locked but it ended up not being. I'm not sure if this is the same
Just popped my 4k disc in and can confirm the 4k disc is Region B locked, I’m in the United States. Pretty upset about it. I’ve imported dozens and dozens of 4K movies and this is the first one that won’t play.
Oh my god I'm so sorry to hear that. I was hoping it wasn't true and I'm sick to hear that it is. Is there any way you can leave a back and get a refund. I really hope you can
Thanks a lot. As always you come up with a title which no one talks about. Can you please tell me if the extra features are in English? I understand the standard blu ray is good but it's a horror slasher so black levels needs to be ultra inky which is possible on 4k only as evident from one of screenshots you shared also. It's a shame we have to import Hollywood movies from countries who don't speak English. Sony could at least offer a limited 4k release. Thanks for the review. I ll import from Amazon Italy. There is one from Finland as well but not sure how is the transfer.

I have checked out all the special features and everything is in English so you have absolutely nothing to worry about. The transfer is fantastic no question about it but like I said in the video it's only a minor upgrade over the Blu-ray. I honestly never knew anything about the Finland release. But if you are a Die Hard fan I recommend picking it up.
@millerman9991 Thanks bro. Actually I haven't seen the movie so will be a blind buy for me if I import but the import charges are more than the actual disc price. I ll wait for some time and see if it gets a release date for US or UK or else I ll import. I know I would love it because of the trailer. It's like homage to 80s slasher it seems.
It probably feels more like a 90s slasher than 80s if I'm completely honest. But there is one scene in the movie that took me right back to the 80s. Of course I won't say anything I'll let you experience it for yourself. I really do hope you enjoy it
I got sane one week ago havent watched yet. Are the colours not better on 4k with an oled? I will be watching on oled and a panasonic ub9000. Thanks for the review and least the blu ray looks good
Like I said in the video Jamie there is definitely an improvement in terms of color but it is minimal. Just look at my screenshots even though I captured them directly off my TV you can notice a slightly increase in colour. If you're a big fan of the movie I would definitely recommend picking up the 4k. I think you might enjoy the subtle differences

Hey Keith, Great to hear from you again with another video! I just picked up the non-slipcase Blu at a local Walmart here in the States. I didn't even know there was an overseas 4K release until I saw your video just now. I'm kicking myself for not waiting now, but according to what I'm reading in the comments here, the picture isn't that much better save for some slightly more saturated color...is that right? Also - did the UK get a different 1080p transfer on the Blu-ray compared to the US?
Hey Mike. Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and check the video. Yeah I have to admit there's not much of an upgrade here over the Blu-ray counterpart which is the exact same as the States release. If you go a bit into my video I show comparisons and you will get an idea of what kind of upgrade you're getting on the 4K release.

I had such a blast with this movie Gary but I had a feeling I was going to. I got that old school slasher vibe from it that I simply do not get with the recent Scream movies. I can't wait for its sequel
Yeah, it was a very enjoyable slasher, and knowing the roots of this movie made it more interesting. I have a new Halloween movie to watch you might be interested in Keith, its called the Pumpkin Man, its set in a small town, I think thats right up your street, I will check it out this weekend and let you know if its any good.@@millerman9991
@singin8324 you know me Gary anything to do with Halloween and that's definitely gonna have me interested. I don't suppose that is on Amazon Prime or Netflix if so I can check it out myself. I honestly never heard of it
No problem Gary thanks for letting me know. I'm not sure if you know but I'm on a stream tonight with the lads again. Every first Monday of the month we do a live stream
Roth should of kept the Grindhouse look (as seen in the trailer from 2007) and which Planet Terror had, I am afraid I was the total opposite, I won't lie, was disappointed, the trailer was far better but not much come to light from the trailer and when a familiar scene from the ad, popped up, I felt deflated. If you watch the trailer, the final outcome shouldn't be compared to Scream but you're right Keith it plays out very much like that. It wasn't a disaster but unlike the Machete trailer vs the film, Thanksgiving missed the mark for me. Glad you enjoyed it though 😊
In all fairness Ethan I can understand why they didn't stick to the look of grindhouse because the grindhouse movies flopped at the box office and it was mainly because people weren't ready for grindhouse. I was so happy to see elements from the trailer still make it to the movie. The trampoline scene for one in particular. Even though it is a bit different. It gave me everything that I wanted when it came to a slasher movie. It's been a while since I've seen a good one and this is definitely a good one. Thank you so much for checking it out
@@millerman9991 Hey Keith I noticed you have the Puppet Master trunk, those movies are made by Full Moon Features. Who also made the Subspecies movies, which have just recently been released in a Coffin Box Set. This might be an item worth getting if you want to add to your Full Moon movies collection.
@slipknotfan4204 apologies my friend for only seeing this message now. Thank you so much for the heads up and I will definitely look into it. I never actually seen subspecies so maybe this is the excuse to finally check it out

Hey Michael. In all fairness my friend it's a minor upgrade so you're not missing out on much. The special features are the same and the audio is the exact same as well. Such a fun movie though
Like I said in the video I don't particularly rate him as a director but he really got it right with this one. I had high expectations and somehow it exceeded them. Cannot wait to watch it again
That movie was a friggin blast. Not quite the movie I was hoping for (based on the old trailer), but I had a good time anyway. Plus, I'm from New England, and the accents had me howling. The studio did a pretty piss poor job marketing it, though. Most people I told about it, had no idea it was even coming out. Too bad.
It makes you wonder how much this movie would have made if they decided to put a bit of money behind advertising. Hopefully with the sequel they will do it. Like I said in the video Bill it doesn't reinvent the wheel but everything they've done with it they done right and I honestly can't praise it enough. It gave me everything that I wanted from a slasher movie.
I'm with ya, Keith. I had a blast in the theater. And I'm looking forward to the sequel. I hope it's even bigger and more over the top. I can't wait. Good review, as always, brotha!

Hello I been away from UA-cam reviews I seen Thanksgiving in the theater and liked it with that said over Christmas vacation the family and I went to Disneyland. Anyways, I thought you’d really like to hear that I got video and pics on my iPhone take care. Thank you for the video.
Hey Joel. I am actually jealous that you got to see all those incredible locations. I'm really hoping someday I will have the chance to see it myself. There's a memory you'll never forget
It's funny you mentioned that Larry because I only said that in a video very recently. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground anymore. Which is a shame when you think about it.
Nice review, Keith. One thing that I mentioned in one of my recent video is the on Netflix the movie is in Dolby Vision AND Dolby Atmos. To my knowledge, it's the only place that has the movie in Dolby Atmos. Pretty damn ridiculous.
Yeah I've heard that a few times with certain movies getting Dolby Atmos on streaming services which as you said is absolutely ridiculous. I'm almost certain Disney on some of their 4K releases you only get hdr10 but on their streaming it's Dolby Vision.

Both myself and Ellen had a fantastic time with it and I hope yous do as well
@@millerman9991 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🎥📺💿
This was a good movie, Keith, some gruesome killings. I think you're right, this will make a good franchise, maybe we will get the sequel next year.
I honestly never heard of it
Not sure if its on any of those platforms Keith, but I just googled it and it said it will arrive on blu-ray in time for Halloween@@millerman9991
Thank you so much for checking it out
Did the us get a 4k disc?
No you can only get it from Amazon Italy and I think there's one in France as well.
I'm glad this movie has lived up to its original Grindhouse trailer.
Yeah I have to admit it really did. I wasn't expecting it to be that good. Thank you for checking it out
@@millerman9991 Hey Keith I noticed you have the Puppet Master trunk, those movies are made by Full Moon Features.
I never actually seen subspecies so maybe this is the excuse to finally check it out
@@millerman9991 No worries Keith I see you get a lot of comments, so I imagine a few might get missed here and there. Yeah Subspecies is definitely worth checking out.
I did pick up the Blu-ray in the US, but I would have bought the 4K if available in the US. Just like House of Gucci for the US no 4K release but I did buy the steelbook from Europe.
Hey Michael. In all fairness my friend it's a minor upgrade so you're not missing out on much. The special features are the same and the audio is the exact same as well. Such a fun movie though
Perhaps you can get a translator app Keith. 🤔
I really should look into it
Eli Roth I Fucking Love You So Much With This Movie
@billg3356 yeah if they deliver a solid sequel I will be very happy with that and you never know where it will go from there. Thank you again Bill for stopping by and for the kind words. I really appreciate it
Hello I been away from UA-cam reviews I seen Thanksgiving in the theater and liked it with that said over Christmas vacation the family and I went to Disneyland. We stopped off in Pasadena California and I visited the filming location of Halloween from 1978 the famous hedge Seen where the girls were walking from school and Michael was staring at them from the hedge. Anyways, I thought you’d really like to hear that I got video and pics on my iPhone take care. Thank you for the video.
Hey Joel. I am actually jealous that you got to see all those incredible locations. I'm really hoping someday I will have the chance to see it myself. I say it was very surreal to be there particularly at that hedge. I really hope it gave you the creeps as well and the fact that you captured it all as well is unbelievable. There's a memory you'll never forget
I loved this movie we dont get enough semi good horror movies anymore. They are either garbage or really good these days.
Not a great movie, but...so...much...fun.
Like I said in the video it doesn't reinvent the wheel but it gave me everything that I wanted when it comes to a slasher movie
