      Some patents like that are still around. In the PS3/360/Wii console generation a company (I believe Capcom) had a patent on minigames on loading screens, so very few if any games during that time had them.

      I played (and 100%'d) the SM64 PC port with just mouse and keyboard because I didn't have a controller to hook up to my PC. It was pretty fun; the only annoying part was having to remember exactly which key did what.

    Did you know that the 3d Mario game Myamoto meant when developing StarFox was Super Mario RPG? After RPG 2 was cancelled, Myamoto didn't give up, and wanted a new console to process full 3d rather than 2.5d

    Luigi as a playable character? Four player split screen?
    Would it not be fair to say that all those ideas went into Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo DS?
    Because that's what it sounds like to me. Not that the ideas were waisted or just put into other games.
    Because from the research I've done into the DS version, it was made with all of that in mind.

    Super Mario 64 also released in Europe back in March 1997 as a launch title. It is the first true Mario game to be translated in French and German.

      The Luigi stuff is a bit over hyped at the moment. My understanding is he was found in early beta stuff, and no where on the code for the actual final product. Otherwise he would have been data mined ages ago
