Between my place and my uncles , a swamp , full of Cedar Trees , you walk on the exposed roots to keep your feet dry , look up , and you don’t see the Sky ! It’s mowed off like a perfect ceiling of green , kinda freaky ! Perfect ! About Deer on their hind legs high , stretching out their necks , it’s where the Deer live in the winter time ,
Interesting. Have you ever asked a tree to touch you? A friend had me turn my back to the cedar, not touching it, and ask it to touch my shoulder. It did and the wind was not blowing. This cedar always makes me smile and I touch the branches when I walk close.
Great video! I just bought a book on herbal medicine from another preppers channel. We all should have a mindset of It's all about the more you know and seek to learn! Thank you for knowledge brother 👍
Thanks for sharing this information about cedar with us. I appreciate that you pass along all the information and knowledge that you have learned and been taught by others.
I'd love to hear more about what your elders taught, especially about Native medicine. I've always put cedar chips in dresser drawers and knew it would repel fleas, but now I need to learn more! Thanks MR 👍👍
I've never done it, but I knew someone a few years ago who swore that acupuncture helped his joint pain and I've personally used ginger root for heartburn etc for years after an Indian ( From India, not Native American) woman suggested it. I'm definitely not an expert on the topic, but I do believe Asian, Native American and other natural remedies are a good supplement to modern medicine for a lot of people and it's a shame that it's not more widely excepted by the medical community.
Otzi the ice man had acupuncture meridians tattooed on him. They correspond with points that relive chronic back pain. Otzi has been dated to 5300 years old. We have forgotten much as a species.
Thank you! Loved it. I have also heard you should always practice reciprocity when harvesting from nature. I wonder if it's also true for something you've grown yourself? I would think the intention of planting and using it for medicine and caring for it would show reciprocity, no? I didn't know this about cedar. Maybe that is why all the ones around here are dying or dead. Something is killing them. Some of the most powerful "weeds", trees, fruits, etc in nature are killed by roundup around here. It's sad.
When harvesting from natural sources you only take what you need. The plant will regenerate itself. You would not take the whole plant. This always preserves the plant.
Thank you. Did or have you taught your children these skills? I worry that I will pass and my three sons will not have the knowledge that I have with my many skills.. they really have no interest.. it might have been different if I had had a daughter or daughter's.
Yes and no. I have taught them, but they have other interests. That is part of the reason for my channel. They can continue to use it as a reference if they wish.
Love this one! More please.
Interesting, Modern Refugee. I just say, "Thank you, Jesus. Amen"
Native Americans were so wise! 🌟

Hi MR, I've heard that white pine and natural tobacco have medicinal properties as well. Supposedly, antiviral.
