Barbados has an excellent infrastructure, we do not have power outages once a month. Only during storms and the recent ash fall from St. Vincent during the eruption of the volcano.
Great review. Just wanted to flag the following: It's $1,000 extra per family member, and we definitely do not have power outages once a month. May two or three times a year, and it's usually back within minutes.
Barbados doesn't have a power outage once a month. . there are issues at times, but not necessarily once a month. there can be issues with internet/phone service but again.. not to the extend of being out for days on end (of course.. we do have tropical storms and can have hurricanes , which are few and far between.. during the months of Jun to November. ) the Welcome Stamp program is for people who are working remotely.. Not for opening up a business on the island or registering an international business. and to advise, starting a business on the island as an expat/non citizen or resident, doesn't actually mean you can actually work/run it as part of that company. You do have to apply for work permit for that as well. The Welcome Stamp allows you to work at your remote business and not pay local tax. You also aren't exempt from paying the regular taxes you would by working remotely from your home country or whatever taxes are required for that business. The Welcome Stamp also doesn't allow you to work for in Barbados for any company established on the island (that requires a work permit, which is completely different. it doesn't at the moment, lead to citizenship but the govt through the immigration department and parliament is looking into a pathway to residency via the welcome stamp program. the welcome stamp is renewable with a fee. check out barbadoswelcomestamp.bb/ for more info.
We loved our year as a couple on the Welcome Stamp Barbados. While we did experience Hurricane Elsa and a volcanic ashfall 😅, we didn’t have that many power outages (something we were a little concerned about). Great solid video.
Solid content Mike. Would you do a video on Barbados to set up a corporation and reside there? Heard the foreign earned income tax is low and there are exemptions on personal income as well. Thank you.
Why do all of that when you can send your 6months and apply for an Extension of Stay? Requirements: $100.00 application fee, Valid ticket for duration of stay, proof of adequate means of support A personal bank statement is generally sufficient, Valid passport and return ticket., One (1) Photo, Any other document to support the application ( eg Doctor’s letter, etc), We need you so I don't understand this Nomad Visa for my Island, making you pay 2000 USD just to stay here for one year working remotely ? And have to make 50k a year???? I born here in Barbados and this is not right, I don't care how much money we can make off it,, It don't seen right to me, We bajans only knew about this a year and 3 months ago..
Okay, now I know where to go after Croatia. I like the idea of bouncing around. Could you do one for people that have Canadian passports that want to bounce around? That are digital nomads. I see us requiring your services quite often here in the future, for myself and Gio
@@OffshoreCitizen yes infact I have been commenting about Cayman Island special economic business set up for few weeks now .. It would be great if you can make a video about it .
Other than retirement time, and long vacations, what good are these visas? I would hate to set up an international company just to be blocked out a year later.
will the OFCD minimum global tax rate of 15% affect this and other countries?, i just looked at the list 134 countries all the good low tax destinations gone!
Vaccinated need to only come with a 72-hour valid COVID test. No quarantine or repeat test on arrival. Unvaccinated will come with a 72-hour valid COVID test, and a 7-day quarantine with a repeat PCR on day 5. You will be holed up in your hotel quarantine (you cannot even step out), so choose your quarantine location wisely.
We don't have good roads, your vehicles had to be road worthy but the road doesn't,🤔 crime is everywhere if you find somewhere that doesn't please send a link, lower crime is a myth, the poorer the country becomes, and more greedy the politicians are the crime will increase , however 🇧🇧 is ok 👍I hope I answered all your concerns.
Should we be concerned by the CFC rules on those digital nomad visas? (not just Barbados) Does managing a foreign company becomes a local income? Interesting content as always
Perhaps begin by learning how to pronounce the country name first. It is not Barbadoes...It is Barbaduss; naming it as a tax haven previously is an exaggeration except for a few people... otherwise quite accurate.

Barbados is amazing. Had a great time over there. Harrison's cave and Hunte's garden are gorgeous
It sure is!
Could you ever see yourself living there?

Malta is amazing and we recommend it if you’re thinking about a year there. We enjoyed their digital nomad permit, easy and very efficient.
I would be interested in hearing about best cellular data plans for nomads
Interesting, thanks!

Question: renewable? Can you leave and come back for another year?
Yes, and at a reduced cost. I am a stamper as well.
Do you think that more countries are going to compete for Digital Nomads? I understand Spain is working on a Digital Nomad Visa.
100% it's a huge trend
Spain has a temporary residency permit for freelancers. Not sure how easy it is to get tho.
lol 50K is pretty high? check Cayman Islands

Just follow black rock main road. Stop at cheffett for roti then keep going there's a police station not too far opposite side of the road
@3.06... Curacao is pronounced with a "K" not a "C".......(just FYI)......
