@toktok_ , yes, but that depends on what area or part of the city one lives in as well. plus have to keep a relatively low profile and don't show any signs of wealth.
Learn the language, get a tan, sometimes a moustache, make local friends, live amongst them and respect them, maybe try to learn something new from them. Harder to do if you were a posh brat in your own country.
I am from Scotland and have lived in Colombia for 37 years and have never had any problems, the health care is away far advanced than the uk. Poeple, are generally very friendly, and you can enjoy a good quality of life for 1000 dollars easily, the weather is great all year round.staying here till I pop my clogs.
I've spent about 3.5 months of 2023 in Colombia and I absolutely love it. The architecture is lacking but other than that it's great. Spring all year in Medellin and Pereira and it's super cheap!
$1,400 a month to live there?.. Maybe if you choose the most expensive part of Bogota or Medellin, otherwise around $550-$700 per person per month would be plenty.
Living in Bulgaria on < 1000 USD. My rent is about 300 USD in Plovdiv. I'm living frugally in terms of accomodation, but no limits in terms of food I want to eat. The included internet is 100 mbit and very stable, great ping. I'm a EU/EEA citizen, so I can basically stay here without a hitch, esp. now that Bulgaria will be joining Schengen. Plovdiv really is nicer than Sofia to me. The 90 min taxi ride to the airport is acceptable, since I basically only travel seasonally. But mid-summer is too warm some days, but that's an opportunity to travel, and winter is cold, so that's an opportunity to travel as well.
Very courteous people. They have a variety of climates. Costs, even in Bogotá, are much lower than in Western Europe or most English speaking countries.
There is not a perfect place, but in SA Colombia, Ecuador and Paraguay are places to study if you want to go in this way. May be also Uruguay, but it is expensive.
OMG! been there not long ago and as a tourist I would say value for money was less than what you get in the Western world. A rich friend tried Panama but did not last long. Colombian cab drivers sure value US$ notes!
I hear that the Sicilian Mafia is still running things there. As for Spain it's extremely safe. I have never felt safer anywhere in my life. I could walk at night alone and feel at peace.
Just checked this census in Latin American countries, it shows me which countries are no-gos, e. g. Paraguay and Panama have very intimate questions which a state shouldn`t have the allowance to urge people to answer, the fine in Paraguay goes up to over 100k Dollar for not answering or answering wrong. Belize had fines for spreading fake news during Corona, that is also a negative sign for me, since what is fake news and what is not a state shouldn`t decide. Seems Costa Rica is quite a democratic country, I didn`t read about such things there.
Which Countries is the best to open an Off Shore Bank account for asset protection and which anonymous debit/credit/prepaid card is the best to have connected with the money?
Been coming to Colombia since 2019, (under 6 months). If you think its still like the 90s you are a dinosaur. At some point I do plan to drop one anchor here and buy a pad to chill from time to time. Never had a problem with safety but, I dont look like a gringo. Your mileage may vary.
Don't think the Colombian finance ministry is watching taxes that closely. Just don't claim much but it's not the safest place. Easy to stand out and get robbed
Colombia it's a nice country with many opportunities and this low requirement for visa it's great, now hopefully the govt makes safety a big priority and also must limit how many foreigners can live in each city and region to keep things well and balanced.
Hi, yes South America - good move! Portugal is full! - but good news, some seem to have used Portugal as a bridgehead to Europe and are now thinking of leaving for Spain or Italy. We are still happy apart from the annoying foreigners from 'Western developed countries' who want to change it!
Colombia might work if people don't mind large megacities like in Mexico, with the same high heat and humidity, air pollution, noisy and crowded. Could be that older established people would prefer quieter, smaller locations as snowbirds like Costa Rica and Barbados. Ecuador is hard to get to back and forth, and other problems.
U.A.E., yeah, great country mate, if it didn't have sharia laws that throw couples in jail for any hugging in public spaces, and if it didn't have extreme heat in the summer and sandstorms in the winter.
Safety is a concern, though. Like any country in South America.
Not every country there is not safe!
Ever heard of Uruguay? Chile? or even Paraguay? plus even in Brazil & Colombia depends on the region etc.
@toktok_ , yes, but that depends on what area or part of the city one lives in as well. plus have to keep a relatively low profile and don't show any signs of wealth.

@@adelinad3513 or just stay in Europe/Asia.
I talked to you about a year ago and got everything set up according to the structure you suggested. So far it is very smooth and efficient.

Good to hear!
Thats the kind of answer im here for 😃
That is good to hear. What about language - can you speak Spanish?
Alaso what took you to Columbia in the first place?
Where do you live in Colombia?

Nice video Mike.
Another video idea for you: Top 3 places in Europe where you're seeing that people tend to stay.
And a similar Top 3 for Asia too. 😊
East Europe.
Hungary, Bulgaria, maybe Austria if you live on the countryside.
Very courteous people. They have a variety of climates. Costs, even in Bogotá, are much lower than in Western Europe or most English speaking countries.
North Bogotá is nice. Good neighborhoods. People are polite. Would be high on my list if I move back to South America.
Great video, but I chose Cuenca, Ecuador over Medellin, Colombia because Cuenca checks more boxes and Ecuador's Visa program was easy.
What other boxes over Medellin does Cuenca check?
Interesting. What do you like about Cuenca over Medellin?
What about Nicaragua? Anybody have experience there
Why not choose Thailand? The Thai elite visa is quite easy to get.
Safer too
You will always be a Farang, can't own land, China next door, pollution, sugar in every meal...just to name a few.
To answer your question at the beginning of the video, Malaysia would be my answer.

Hello what are the newest updates in golden visa for Portugal. Is the law passed or do we have still time? Thanks
OMG! been there not long ago and as a tourist I would say value for money was less than what you get in the Western world. A rich friend tried Panama but did not last long. Colombian cab drivers sure value US$ notes!
Kindly suggest an Air Ticket and no money plan as I would like to give up Passport and Visa
About safety how is it for your clients in Italy am thinking abloiut the mafia there and how about safty in Spain for wealthy people ? Thank You

Digital nomad visa is good

I am interested.

The world has become too small. There is no place to hide from taxes
What if I ONLY want to become tax resident there? Is that easy to achieve?
Why? Taxes are insanely high there.
Colombia it's a nice country with many opportunities and this low requirement for visa it's great, now hopefully the govt makes safety a big priority and also must limit how many foreigners can live in each city and region to keep things well and balanced.
Mexican PR tho (waiting game for me now...)
My wife and I hope to have an appointment at the Mexican Consulant in my USA city.
Nope try Asia
Asia it's a continent not a country.

First Comment!
Island is safer
People stay there cos finances don't allow anything else. Safety and taxes are unbearable.
Do you live there?

Whaat?!.. bcoz Mexico & Colombia somehow only have megacities?!
😄😄🤡👌
*Promo SM* 😳
There are estimates of 65k people at the US border to leave South American and central American countries, everyday , 65K leaving speaks volumes to me
Pass 😂
Dangerous. UAE much better.
UAE is expensive
Except that the UAE is right in the nexus of explosive warring nations, Israel, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the Sixth Fleet, Egypt.
UAE is a surveillance state, run by slaves
U.A.E., yeah, great country mate, if it didn't have sharia laws that throw couples in jail for any hugging in public spaces, and if it didn't have extreme heat in the summer and sandstorms in the winter.
No more Tax Free and very expensive. Also the customer service/ experience is one of the shittiest of the world.
