    Did you have to change something in the window bios before doing the egpu? Or did you just install the egpu and it just works straight of the bat?

    Really cool! I guess it makes it less complicated if you didnt use another nvidia for an egpu. Because nvidia has a desktop and a mobile drive so having 2 nvidia would cause some problems. The dgpu has to be disavled for the egpu if thats the case

    • @MIKEYZVLOGZ
      @MIKEYZVLOGZ  19 днів тому

      yes but with laptops what they have done is enabled both integrated and external gpus so it can be used in sync ..how this works is ..wen it needs the extra graphics it will use the external gpu ..that's why with newer laptops u see 2 gpus in task manager

    • @scottb9231

      @@MIKEYZVLOGZ I see wouldn't that cause some lower performance? That's why laptops have a mux switch to deactivate it's igpu for it to only use it's dgpu for pure performance. But yeah hopefully adding a egpu nvidia with a dgpu nvidia won't cause any problems since newer gen laptops are more smarter. I've seen older gen laptops cause so many errors with egpu and the same for its thunderbolt too.

      @ujjwalsharma5773 makensure u have a pcie 3.0 gen 3 or 4 m.2 slot first and that u have another way to run a boot drive if u only have 1 m2 slot. if u have another 2.5inch sata port u can use that as boot drive ...or get a external m.2 enclosure and see if your laptop can boot from that like I did ... these are the things you need to check... also sometimes the egpu isn't compatible for whatever reason ... u need to ensure it will work or else u have to return for a refund... in my case on the msi the egpu wouldn't work with 1070 but it worked with rx6800xt and 3080

      no it won't burn your mobo.. ur not supplying any more power to your mobo..ur only supplying direct power to your gpu... your motherboard still gets power off your laptop battery and power dc connector ... that's why i use a seperate psu to power the egpu which supplies power to the gpu ... allowing it to work
