Great video as always, but you should REALLY buy some " plastic felt edge squeegees ". Gonna make the job so much easier smoothing out the vinyl stickers. But your thumb is indeed your best friend when doing this :D
Thank for the tips D. I have got one there from an iPhone screen protector installation, but I don’t know, I guess old habits die hard. They are good for the centre and flatter parts, but I reckon the thumb is hard to beat for the complex shapes.
Just put graphics on my son's rookie kart for the first time. Your video was very helpful🙏
Glad it helped!
I just had an idea, you should try to get marty and moog off MCM youtube channel over, and let them have a go on a couple of old karts. Your channels could do a collab, with you showing them the karts ect. I know it would be abit different from your normal karting content, but they have a decent following and could find you more subs. They normally track race old cars after weeks building them if you have somehow missed that channel, so getting them on karts would be interesting..
Hey Chris, great idea, I have a kart perfect for them, and yeah of course I those 2 legends, they are massive here in Aus and YT. I'll copy your message and send it to them!!
@@PowerRepublic i thought you would know the channel, it would be awesome to see you working together. I hope you can get something sorted..
That would be a great series of videos. Something like the KZ build up then send them out on track.
The information you provide us with remains great. i bought my 1st kart in august 2018 and have already learned so much through your videos that makes me faster on the track and helps me work on the kart. I'm a fan of your work Derek, keep this up buddy
Hey Jordy, thanks for the positive vibes. Damn, been watching since 2018, you are a real Power Republic OG! Thanks for tuning in and liking the videos?
@@PowerRepublic thanks Derek
Nice tip. Noob question what is for that blue machine in the Black?
All good, that’s the honing machine for fixing the engines cylinders.
This would’ve been nice a month ago. Took me a good 2 hours to get them all done
Sorry bout that. Next time you are the BOSS
Best karting channel on UA-cam
Hell Yeah Bruh, thanks and respect 👊🏻
Hats-off because believe me, this guy makes this job look a shitload easier than it actually is!
Great all around channel guys. Keep it up
Hey BD, thank heaps for tuning in and for the good vibes. Glad you are enjoying the channel. What type of karting are you doing ATM?
@@PowerRepublic Well hello Power Republic! I've always competed in Rotax myself. Our team is called Westrax Karting and we compete in the National Kart Cup (NKC) here in the UK. Check us out of Facebook if you have a moment 👍
I always cut off a piece of the backing of the sticker and put the sticker in its place with bit of tape in the right position on the not sticky part. Than pull of the rest of the backing and work it down as you do with the heat gun and all, works like a charm.
Love your video’s mate, good job! Keep up the speed!
thanks for the hot tip Rob, I'll give it a shot and next time maybe, just maybe, get the lines to match up!!
Are you using air release vinyl?
Im definitely not replacing my decals.. mine cost nearly £200 imported from aus.. and now id bet tax will be even worse as well as import costs.
yeah boi, get the good ones then hang on to em
mate I need you come sand for me at that speed ;)
covid mate, can't come south of Tweed Heads 😉
except for snow 😜
What is the name of the stuff you used to
Wild down after you sanded?
I use methylated spirits. Basically alcohol based cleaner. Better for the glue to stick to the plastic
Maybe try heating it while pasting, we do that all the time, haha
very good video like
Can you please do a video on how to tell if your go cart axle is bent, and maby how to fix it?
Hey Alex, that's a great idea. the only way to straighten is send them to a kart shop or I have seen people hit them with a hammer on the wheel hub in an emergency
@@PowerRepublic Thank you so much for the information, that’s exactly what I did yesterday a rubber mallet do the trick. Thank you!!
Great tips
Thanks🙂 well done
THanks G. best of luck with your next new sticker install
Great information, thanks
Thanks for watching legend!
What grade of sandpaper did you use
Hey Bro, thanks for tuning in and sharing the videos😊
we use 240 grit normally. but anything over about 180 should be fine. just go easy with the corse paper and go harder and longer with the fine grit stuff.
Hope that helps 👊🏻
Hey guys, i raced with a rotax max for the first time yesterday (senior) comming from kf2 engines. It ran pretty well, although sometimes after the straights it didnt pick up the throttle :( Is that because i am running wrong jets?
Maybe yeah. You could try to get it back with some needle clip adjustments ?
Where are you racing ?
@@PowerRepublic Its a track in Denmark called Roskilde Racing Center. There is lots of straights and lots of hairpins.
Has it warmed up there yet or still winter conditions?
@@PowerRepublic I think we ran in around 2-6 C
Digging the music,
Thanks Jase
your a wizard dezzy
thanks legend, now you know how to get it done like a boss!! 😉
We are getting a used 2019 Tony Kart. Do you know if the newer stickers (2022) would fit on it? Thanks
Sure will. Most stickers are interchangeable, as you can trim some excess off if needed to look good
@@PowerRepublic Thank you.
It depends if you have the same style bodywork as the new stickers, the overall shape should match.
Good thank you
Keep watching
Cool music...
Thanks PP 😊
The protective film is there to protect the sticker from an applicator scratching the sticker surface. It will not form to compound angles so it literally releases itself as you apply the sticker. If you use an applicator you'll get far less air bubbles than using your fingers alone.
