whats crazy is, Ijust bought a mychrone 5 last week and used it for the first time yesterday. I was thinking this morning that I should go on UA-cam and look for some videos explain how to use it............and this pop up! Life works in mysterious ways

Hey Patrizio, thanks mate. we will have to wait for the DD2 video's until a customer brings on in for a service. we haven't got a DD2 here to operate on yet..........
I have had my MyChrons 2T for 2 years, and today at training before a race tommorow my egt (exhaust temp) sensor stopped working. Then i bought a new exhaust temp at the track shop - and the new exhaust sensor worked for 1 practice but in the second practice it also stopped working. So i might have destroyed to exhaust sensors today.
Have anyone tried this or maybe i can reset the Laptimer?
that sucks, reset it anyways to see. also check the connection to the unit and at the sensor/extension lead junction
Just bought a Mychron 5 couple of sessions ago so this video came perfectly as we're heading out for some sessions tomorrow again. Just wanna ask what you would set the led bar for on a rotax 125. I wanna use those lamps for something, just don't know what!

hey Jasper, awesome, have fun. What track are you going to? because you don't have to change gears a Rotax, you can set them to go green or red for you sector times, green if your up and red if your down. that way you can tell if you're being awesome or if you cocked something up.

That just shows I haven't watched your videos enough ;) we're driving on Järfälla track north of Stockholm, it's a really nice and fun track, not so fast tho. My son says he tried to set it up the way you recomended but it does'nt seem to work. I'll see if there is something he missed in the instructions but he's more technical than me so I doubt it.

@@jesperek6402 I just tried to find it on google images. what is the problem you have? in the video I think my LED's were set up for shift lights on the KZ gearbox kart, but you can select the LED's to be for other settings from memory.
@@PowerRepublic try google Järfälla gokart/Järfälla MK or Järfälla hyrkart :) and I think we'll fix the leds now thank's to your tips and video :)
I have my sector lights as described, green for up and red for down but most importantly is set your warning lights to some other colour! I almost missed my engine overheating massively because I mistook the red light for a bad sector. I changed my warning light to a blinking yellow so it stands out from the normal LED's you see every lap.
How would you charge it? my battery is out now and I dont know what to do besides having the kart on

Hi! Can i ask you something? my mychron 5 generates 14 partials for me when I download it to the computer (depending on direction changes). I try to do 4 partials but I don't know how to achieve it. is it made from "master map"? it always makes me 14 partials. But i think there are many partials.
click the button in Maps that says 'clear all'. then you can 'divide' the track into how many sections you like.
hi we have a temp sensor for rotax and not sure how to fit it because we don’t can’t find a T hose and that’s all we have found on where to screw it into but we’re racing tomorrow morning and i’m not sure what to do. Thanks
Hey Lloyd, it screws into the cylinder head cover (near the spark plug). hope that helps

Hi guy's i have an mychron 5s and my speedometer don work, do you know how to fix it? Do i need to buy a special cable for it or something
you need to select it in the menu setting to be displayed on your dash. otherwise maybe check to see if your firmware needs an update?
Just upgraded from the 4 to the 5 this week actually. What mount are you using to mount the 5 to the 2019 tony kart
Garret Britton we use the OTK Mount mostly. DPE kart superstores have a cool new stainless steel one as well now.
A bit of digging here but I don't have the split times/rolling lap/theoretical lap page, I have all the other ones though. Any reason for that?
Beacon mode set to Automatic and I only use GPS for the lap time.
I have seen that before. Someone told me that was a software update. But does your track have splits built into it/have you seen split times on other peoples dashes at your track??
@@PowerRepublic My bad, indeed now that I've checked in Race Studio, the splits have been deleted....

Hi, DD2 going very well! Getting faster and faster with a lower gear ratio, I used to drive with a 35-62, now I’m driving with a 34-63, and managed to go half a second faster with the 140cc cylinder. Yesterday I bought a Mychron 5, second hand for 250 euros (brand new is 500 euros,) so I’m happy 😃 that’s why I was watching your video on the Mychron 5 , so thank you so so much! 👍

Hi there, can you tell me if the LCU connects direct to the expansion hub? ( pic on mychron site shows LCU attached to data hub and data hub then attended to expansion hub)
LCU one plugs stright into the mychron 5 head unit. or you can buy the expansion hub and plug it into that as well.

I am from New Zealand and race in the rotax max light division I am moving to the Gold Coast and I am wondering my racing gear (suit helmet gloves ect ) that is legal in New Zealand will that be all legal in Australia and is my kart legal aswell or is there different rules ?
yeah that should be fine as we use the same Level 2 CIK as you guys.

still the Mychron really is the go to. I haven't used the Alfano software enough to tell you. but the units themselves are almost identical

I just started go karting and I have a mychron 5. I also have a temp sensor (for the cylinder head) but I can’t see the temperature on the screen. I made a custom display setup where I should be abele to see the temperature but it is not showing up. Do I need to set the sensor up somewhere or what am I doing wrong. I hope you can help me.

Hi Maxim, thanks for the positive vibes! make sure you turn off the the first 2 factory setting 'non custom' display settings. otherwise I think the factory settings over rule your custom 1 page. home that helps

I don't have one, but it is literally one nut on the back of the unit and then run the RPM lead to the tack wire.

I have just got a Mychron 5 s . Unlike my 4 it does not automatically turn on. Is it in the settings?
nah it should turn on by itself when the engine starts. you have to have the RPM lead on but

I have the dd2 rotax so I need to use the clutch or gearbox option ?
yeah and make it set to 2 gears
@@PowerRepublic and how much RPM do I put on the leds of the first and 2nd gear to know that it is showing me the RPM of the changes correctly
How rolling time is calculated?
Best rolling lap? That’s the best sectors from any 2 consecutive i.e sector 2 , 3 then 1 from the next lap to make a best lap time

Hi, I am about to buy a Mychron 5 with Lambda lcu one, do you know if it is possible to configure the led bar for Lambda values? Effectively using it like a tuning light set?
Andrew Farlow not that I’m aware of. You can read the numbers pretty easy on the fly.

Abel Fuentes the great thing about the Mychron is that each new edition builds on the previous model. The only major difference for the 4 is with the GPS being an add too, not integrated. All the button are similar with almost the same functions. And to download on the 4 you have to get a data key and save you files on it, then plug the data key into your lap top and then use race studio for analysis. Hope that helps.

Yeah it might. But AIM sports have more high end loggers for 4 stroke race engines. Check out their website for details

How can I see my best theoretical lap ....My Mychron isnt showing it
from the home screen you need to press the 'mem' button 4 times and that should bring up the split times/rolling lap/theoretical lap page. let me know how that goes for you?

Any feature that only works when the track is recognized should be disregarded as a feature since there will always be tracks that aren't in there and the the percentage of unrecognized tracks will increase over the years.
Last time I checked the English use MPH not KMPH

Hi, for a Cadet kart (mini rok), which of the data loggers do you prefer and recommend - eg, MyChron5s, Alfano 6 etc?
Mychron 5s for me
I use a honda cadet and i got a mychron 5 2t and it works great.
