It is said that Remo Giazotto has drawn from fragments of some "adagio" of these church sonatas to compose his famous Adagio. In fact, here and there one recognizes something that was then used by the famous twentieth-century musicologist.
I would not have thought, that Albinoni had written so many beautiful pieces, beside his most famous Adagio, that is fairly popular in our funerals here in Hungary. His music reminds me Vivaldi's. It is quite natural, because he lived also in Venice but earlier than Vivaldi. Unforgetably beautiful. Thanks for uploading.
I've always said Albinoni is like Vivaldi's brother but with restless leg syndrome. His bass lines are always moving and leaping hither and yon, while Vivaldi's are more static melodically.
The first 30 seconds reminded me of 2 songs. One is the last couple seconds played in the end of a game called Hollow Knight when you defeat the final boss. The other part reminded me of Phantom of the Opera. Both such amazing pieces for completely different reasons, found together in a matter of 30 seconds, composed by someone hundreds of years ago.
I've listened to some of this album and I prefer the performances on the Hyperion recording. See www.hyperion-records.co.uk/dc.asp?dc=D_CDD22048 More expensive, alas, so they will have to go on my wish list. I do buy quite a few Brilliant Classics recordings, though; they are excellent and sometimes they are even the best available. CDs aren't cheap (not for those on low incomes anyway) so I am very grateful to Brilliant Classics. I currently have three sets on order.
Perfect. You simply repeat what the Lord Jesus Christ Said: Gospel of saint John, Chapter 10, Verse 10. "I have come so that they have Life, and Life in abundance." You Are Not far off from Him.
Albinoni, was definitely a grandmaster of his era and definitely also not recorded regard and respect simply because Mozart and Beethoven Were able to throw off the shackles of Regal and aristocratic driven formats of the time. These guys had to earn a living producing music on demand just like today’s popstars. In the 1700s the order of things dictated to the composers of the day the flavour and construction of music that would be paid for and entertained by the moneyed classes.Had Albinoni been born 80 or so years later he would’ve been free to express himself as Mozart and Beethoven et al were able to do.
Actually, albinoni was a man of independent means, as different from Mozart and Beethoven, who were famously financially challenged. To mr, his music is very expressive, not just for his period, but for any period

The more I listen to Albinoni's music, the more I am penetrated by his genius. Thank you very much for sharing this pure moment of grace with us.
Music from heaven; brings tears to my eyes just listening.
This music is a balm to the soul.
Maravilloso.

Albinoni is all clarity and elegance. You just have to love him. Maybe the most touching composer of the 18th century.

@Massimo Maghetti I think you mean 1670.
You mean the Adagio that isn’t by Albinoni at all ?
Albinonis music is distinctly different from Vivaldis. And even better. Notwithstanding the fact that Vivaldi is am immortal GIANT.
Hermosísimo!
Te eleva. Es sublime.

I'm only about one-fifth of the way through, but this seems more melancholy than Albinoni's other selections on UA-cam. Many of the sections are slow.
Each sonata has 2 slow and two fast movements, so equal between both tempos, although the low movements are generally a bit longer.
I've listened to some of this album and I prefer the performances on the Hyperion recording. See www.hyperion-records.co.uk/dc.asp?dc=D_CDD22048

I'm not religious. But if religion was only about thinking about life itself and how to make it better, this would be the perfect soundtrack to go by.
Beautifully said

Joshua Yeidel True, he didn’t work for anyone, but didn’t challenge the authorities back then either.
He composed what he wanted, being independently wealthy. That's why he was so prolific turning out 81 operas alone.

There is an edition of the Sonatas recently published on IMSLP.
No wonder his concertos has a singing quality to it. Vivaldi did too.
