I've worked with pressured tanks for welding and for purging certain military hardware with nitrogen. The Tanks are brass heads so the metal is soft. You don't haft to craft the bejesus out of them to keep them from leaking. If you think it might be leaking or not tight enough just use some soap and water mixture to test the connections. If it blows bubbles its leaking. Close the tank valve and remove the pressure regulator. Inspect the mating surfaces and ensure they are shaped similarly as in angles of the fittings and tank heads mating surfaces. Also check for dirt and debris and any possible dents cuts to those surfaces. Then reassemble and test for leaks. A little past snug is usually enough. If you over tighten then you can strip the brass fittings. Also make sure your regulators valves are set to closed before you mount it to the tank and before you open the tanks valve. Otherwise you are good to go. The soap and water is always a good way to test to leaks.
Thanks for your feedback. You're right you do not need to do that so hard. However we've seen issues many times with clients when the regulator with the extended parts like valve, splitters simply twisted by the weight of the equipment and the gas is released from the cylinder. 👍
I work in a laboratory and we use co2, oxygen and other compressed gases. We you white medical tape around the brass head and pressure regulator. In 6 years-zero leaks.

I like these kind of videos! please do more! But I would like to say that the hose before the solenoid should be as short as possible. If the solenoid is closed co2 will build up in this part of hose until working pressure is met. If the solenoid opens the pressure is released and it gives a burst of co2. That is not necessarily a problem but it can make the hose pop off the glassware or empty the bubble counter faster then you would like...

How to use it, how to setup properly and how many bubbles per second you need for example in my case with 1200 liter planted aquarium? Thanks in advance.
This is a longer topic probably worth another video. But definitely a CO2 reactor with a bypass is the way to go. I may would add in a pH controller as well as it will be extremely hard to change the rate based on counting the bubbles.
I use the Neo CO2 on my Fluval Spec III. Works perfectly and it’s running all the time. Also very budget friendly. The media that the yeast feeds off of lasts a very long time. You’ll actually run out of yeast before the media. So what I did was buy a jar of yeast at the grocery store and use that. Hi, great video. 👏👏 what you think it's better for injection of CO2 in aquarium, a diffuser like what you use in the video that is inside of aquarium or one mounted on the filter hose like JBL pro flora taifun inline? Its an aquarium with 300L. Thanks
Question/s Doesn't the bubble counter also act as a check valve as well? For the recommended Co2 bubble per second.. doesnt it depend on the size of the tank and how dense it is planted? Now, im thinking im using too much Co2 on my 60p with 2 to 3 bubbles/sec.
The amount of bubbles needed for an aquarium depends on the carbonate hardness (KH) and the pH level. The lower degree of carbonate hardness it means the less bubbles are needed to achieve the optimal pH of 6.6-6.8
Thanks for the video. I have an aluminum cylinder and it’s out of CO2. I bought a DIY refill with the powder and yeast to mix manually. However, I can’t seem to open my cylinder to put the mixture in. Is it possible to do a manual refill for such cylinder?
Make sure you have enough flow. Better to put the diffuser to the lower part of the aquarium, so the gas travels more before reaching the surface and has more chance to mix with the water. With a CO2 reactor this is a non existent issue. So if you're after a more efficient method i do recommend that.
Is it not better if using a solenoid not pre-fitted, to connect the solenoid to a metal tubing (some specialist insist on supplying them) rather than plastic tubing, is there not a danger of blowout between the tank and the solenoid when the tank pressure output is being blocked by the solenoid switch off? My solenoids came fitted directly to he output of the second controller on the gauge to ensure this blowout doesn't happen. The third stage of fine tuning (for bubble rate) after the solenoid. Maybe this is a unnecessary concern, but I think worth asking.

in the tube there is a low pressure which is not more than 0.4-0.6 MPa. This pressure depends on how you open the coarse adjustment valve on the reducer

Hello Green Aqua, I wanted to know how do you count the bubble with the bubble counter that has a twist from ADA that you show in the end of your video? Also, in what scenario would you use this one instead a normal one?
Hi! Do you guys rate or use the Aquario Mixer with the diffuser? Love the design but hardly see it used and plastic look and cleaning worries me a bit. 🙏 Thanks
We used it before on smaller tanks, my main concern - personally - is that these in-line diffusers will fill the tank with tiny CO2 bubbles that obstruct the view. Nonetheless, they work fine and do the job. Cleaning is not a problem, you just bathe it in a cleaning solution, rinse it properly and you're done.
@@GreenAquaShop thank you! Which reactor is the most reliable please? I always worry about solenoids going wrong and filling the tank when I don’t want them to! Do you have visible bubble counters with the reactors? Agree about seeing bubbles. Is the evidence good enough that bubbles help the leaves?
Yes, you can bring out the hose to the side of the tank, put a glass bubble counter there and bring the hose back into the cabinet to the reactor, done that before. I think you meant the pressure reducer or the solenoid, the reactors rarely break (except when leaking). Check out our website - all available CO2 gear is of good quality, and tested.

Hello green aqua may I ask? what is the ideal bps for a 60cm dutchstyle tank with a light intensity of 50watt 8 hours per day, I use 2bps, is that enough? Thankyou 🙏🏻
Great, just before I invest in a CO2 system. Can you guys please make a video about using red hardscape? Reddish sand, rocks, etc. Would love to see a hardscape concept based on the color red!
There is never an exact answer for this question. I use a 45P and do about 5+ bubbles per second. it sounds like a lot but it always depends on how heavily planted your tank is and other factors. If you have fauna, pay attention to their behavior, get a co2 indicator if you don't have one already and keep good aeration/surface movement so fish don't suffocate from too little air. I used to do 1-2 bubbles per second but with experimenting and having a lot of plants I can get away with pumping more co2 for exponential plant growth!
With most bubble counter this will be around 3bps+ I would start there and slowly fine tuning til i reach the perfect spot. Depend on many factors how effective your system is.
I would love it if you could talk about the timing or lighting and Co2, and how to work out how much to start with for your tank to get the balance right.
There's this a cheap CO2 regulator I bought that already has a bubble counter and solenoid, I think that's very convenient and less clunky. What's the ideal bubble count for 60cm tank? Ty
I’m planning on getting a 210 gallon tank soon that I will be aquascaping to look like a forest. I’m not 100% on what all plants I want to use yet but I’m thinking moss, maybe some types of hair grass and possibly Monte Carlo. I’m going to be covering around 90% with plants. I’m also planning on getting a CO2 system. How many bubbles per second would I want to do for this type of setup?
love the video a great help may I request a part 2 where you could maybe explain how long you run it, best size co2 tanks for aquarium sizes and just some basic information on how to use it in the aquarium and any issues to watch out for and any trouble shooting help for the system in general :)
Is the CO2 drop checker shape important? I'm setting up co2 for a 50 liters aquarium and I'd like to have it as clean as possible inside. I've seen balls, hang on and conic (the clasic one) drop checkers but I'm unsure if the ball or hang on won't work well due to the smaller surface area exposed to water.
I have a 250 lt aquarium and my Co2 bottle 5 lt , but some how it’s ending after 2-3 month , I have solenoid valf and diffuser and I’m giving co2 only 8 hour also I’m checking indicatör it’s always green , so my question is , is it normal that my bottled finishing in 2 month ?
Check CO2 cylinder and reduser connections. I have a 300 liter aquarium and a 6 liter CO2 cylinder it is ended in 2 months. I tested the connections with a soap and water solution. It turned out I had a damaged seal gasket between the cylinder and the reduser
for a 250L aquarium this 5kg cylinder should last 6 months or so. Depend on the effectiveness of your system. There are no leak on the regulator side as it would ran out much quicker. Make sure the hose is good (might worth to change it) also measure the cylinder when you start and check the empty cylinder weight on the neck of the cylinder. Maybe it is not filled correctly. Use soap and water to check leaking or leak checker.
hi green aqua, nice video again.. do u have some tips on how to prevent the connection from leak? i already used CO2 tubing, but the tube always leak at the connector with the diffuser, before the U bend tube.
Make sure to clean off the connection parts. So no water remains there. A paper towel it perfect for that. Do this also with the internal part of the CO2 tube. This way the tube will stuck to the diffuser without slipping or to have air bubbles.
@@GreenAquaShop i see.. thank you sir.. btw keep up to good work.. you guys really made me fall in love in aquascaping.. see u guys in IAPLC. (pray to be in the list) hahahah...
Great video, I'm waiting to install my new filter Oase 850 bought by you. I'm thinking also to install this diffuser. Actually i have CO2 with a nomal diffiser directly in the tank without pressure reduce.
If you don't know how a pressure regulator works (they are pretty common with nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon dioxide), you should definitely learn. It helps a lot when dealing with anything related with a pressure regulator such as brazing, torching, etc.
What about the reactor? Is there a specific way to connect that or we should basically put the CO2 inlet in it and thats the end of the process for it?
Hi! How many bubbles should go into a 160l aquarium in one sec/min? In dimensions 100x40x40 with demanding plants like cuba, eleocharis parvulus and some Red plants?
Hello! I really enjoy all your video guys. I have a quick question. Is it good or bad to place the Co2 diffuser just next to the suction pipe of my external filter? I'm thinking like this the Co2 has more time to dissolve in the water before being injected back to the tank via the outlet pipe. But maybe the Co2 concentration will be too high for my beneficial bacteria inside my external filter. What are your thought about it ?
Hello guys, First of all I have to say that this is an excellent video and secondly I would like to know what is that bubble counter solution? Here in Colombia I can't find anything like that, and the only thing that comes to mind is glycerin. What do you recommend?
hello and thanks for what you do. there are discussions about what plants prefer, CO2 gas (diffuser) or dissolved (reactor). what is your opinion thank you and keep up the good work

I know feeling of stripping them 🙈 Im a nuclear marine engineer on submarines and we play with this stuff everyday up to 300bar

Please mention how to spread
the co2 bubbles all over the tank
A lot of ppl usually use a power head or wave maker or even the outflow of a filter to push the c02 around the tank
Im not sure this is necessary. CO2 dilutes very well in water. It also dissipates quite easily into the air if there is too much water movement.

Can you guys please make a video about using red hardscape? Reddish sand, rocks, etc. Would love to see a hardscape concept based on the color red!
Thanks for the suggestion. Noted 👍
Hi, what would be optimum number of bubbles per minute for 20 lit nano tank ?
How much bubbles would you suggest, for a 90p aquascape?
How much bubbles would you should for a 90cm 45cm 45 cm planted tank plz
Do u use inline diffuser?
love the video a great help may I request a part 2 where you could maybe explain how long you run it, best size co2 tanks for aquarium sizes and just some basic information on how to use it in the aquarium and any issues to watch out for and any trouble shooting help for the system in general :)
Balazs do you have any recommendations for Co2 setups as far as brands, quality, etc.?
Just the ones we have on stock. LOL. It's not by accident, actually.
@@GreenAquaShop awesome lol I am going to take a look. Thank you 😁😎🤙🍻
@@GreenAquaShop next question do you ship to the USA?
@@enzim87 I already did but couldn’t find any damage , now how long it takes your bottle for 300 lt after finding damage ?
for a 250L aquarium this 5kg cylinder should last 6 months or so.
How long would the large bottle of CO2 last roughly and do you turn the CO2on and off with your lights
Really good piece of information. Seems easier now.
Glad it helped in some way 👍
Where is the best place for a diffuser? Suction side of the filter? Or the discharge side?
Suction side is not that great as gas can build up in your filter. Will be noisier along the time.
hi green aqua, nice video again.. do u have some tips on how to prevent the connection from leak? i already used CO2 tubing, but the tube always leak at the connector with the diffuser, before the U bend tube.
(pray to be in the list)
hahahah...
Thanks so much, love to hear we've been inspirational and helpful in some ways 🙏
Thank you for this beautiful and detailed explanation
Glad it was useful in some ways 👍
@@GreenAquaShop thank you
Where should I put the CO2 diffuser?? Can the outflow help the CO2 to flow around the tank?
Yup
Hello Is there standard/ratio to follow on how many bubbles of Co2 per second based to on how many gallons capacity of the tank ?
Not really. But there are some numbers you can start with in general.
Which one better between Inline, regular diffuser or external reactor in your opinion?
Best definitely reactor
Yup all the way to reactor. Not for small tanks tho.
sir I always follow ur video .. love from india
Thank you 💚
Great video, I'm waiting to install my new filter Oase 850 bought by you. I'm thinking also to install this diffuser. Actually i have CO2 with a nomal diffiser directly in the tank without pressure reduce.
Exciting times! :) 👍
If you don't know how a pressure regulator works (they are pretty common with nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon dioxide), you should definitely learn. It helps a lot when dealing with anything related with a pressure regulator such as brazing, torching, etc.
Hi. Which is correct. 1)24 hour open co2 system or 2) two hour before open co2 system lightining aquarium
Both works with pros and cons on each 👍
@@GreenAquaShop thanks.
I would really like to get a Reactors 101 video too!
How long will take 2kg co2 finish if run for 8 hours? And how many hours should run co2 daily?
What about the reactor? Is there a specific way to connect that or we should basically put the CO2 inlet in it and thats the end of the process for it?
Reactors are connected to the filter pressure side. There are a couple things to consider tho. Bypass, media in it etc.
@@GreenAquaShop What role does media in an external reactor plays? Is it for biological filtration?
Great video, i was wondering if there are any negativ effect when the CO2 is connected to the filter outflow.
Nope we're using the reactors that way
Ciao, è consigliato il montaggio di aquamedic reactor1000 su una vasca da 120 litri? Grazie
Yes, absolutely, as long as your external filter is above 1000 liters per hour so it can push the water through properly.
Could you give marks for regulator of very good quality and which will last a long time?
Hi!
How many bubbles should go into a 160l aquarium in one sec/min? In dimensions 100x40x40 with demanding plants like cuba, eleocharis parvulus and some Red plants?
happy new years
i love you
Happy new year to you as well 👍
@@GreenAquaShop thanks, I hope green aqua can integrate with aquatic communities around the world
What type of Pressur reducer did you use on the 5kg bottel shown in the video?
Great video, as always. whereabouts in the tank do you place the defuser?
Thanks Mike, move the diffuser closer to the substrate. And you can place it almost everywhere.
so, should i get out of my mind anything regarding safety? Is it totally safe?
Hello guys, First of all I have to say that this is an excellent video and secondly I would like to know what is that bubble counter solution? Here in Colombia I can't find anything like that, and the only thing that comes to mind is glycerin. What do you recommend?
Glycerin is good, however you need to be more careful with it. Works like an oil on connections 😀
how big of a cilinder do u suggest for a 10 gallon tank example
A 2kg one would last for a year
For it to last you a year how many bps do u recommend for the 10 gallon
I have a tank with a large sump.
Can I put the diffuser in the sump, or should it be in the main tank?
Sure it could work, but you will have more waste so you need to calculate with that
Hi! An advice...what do you think of the co2 injectors directly on the outflow tube?
With reactors it is fine, but inline ones are not our favs
How many bubbles per minute are Ok for an 125L aquarium.?
2 per second (120 bubbles per minute) sounds fine to you too?
Thank you.!
Depend on many things, but you can start with 2bps and slowly increase it. Will be closer to 3 at the end
hello and thanks for what you do. there are discussions about what plants prefer, CO2 gas (diffuser) or dissolved (reactor). what is your opinion thank you and keep up the good work
I only look on CO2 checker color and newer did not use bubble counter
If I flip the bubble counter accidentally, the liquid will in the tube, will the liquid go into the tank? Do I need to break the system to let the liquid out?
