Here's the breakdown of the cause and how to fix it.
Affected cameras include the Mamiya RB67 Pro, Pro S, and Pro SD.
Note: This procedure does not work with the Mamiya RZ67, but we do have another video covering a procedure for removing a stuck lens on the RZ67.

This was very helpful. You definitely made it look easy. Took me about 15mins of fiddling, but I finally got the lens off. Now to move on to the stuck Shutter winder.

*2024* Hi there! You don't need to "damage" the body, the key is to hold the shutter lever forward, while turning the lens ring counterclockwise (Pro SD)

Thanks for your great videos I have a RB67 with a 127 lens mounted on the body with the locking ring unable to turn to remove, I have watched your video on how to remove the lens to no avail found the hole on front of camera as instructed but couldn't find the latch to release the locking ring, any suggestions on would be appreciated thank you John
I've got an RB67 ProS body. I've never had a lens stick, but it's good to know getting it off (if it ever does) is no harder than picking the lock on a pair of handcuffs (which I learned to do at age 13).
This is a really great video. Now to move to the next part of how to deal with a jammed shutting cocking level. :-)

Had a stuck C lens on a Pro SD, and thought the paperclip trick would work, but it didn't. As Bill explained it to me, the ring must be able to turn, mine wouldn't budge. I reached out and he graciously gave me some pointers. Followed his advice and off it came! Thank you Bill! Like and Sub earned and then some. All you Mamiya guys out there spread the word! This guy knows his S&!t....
Can you share the solution? I Also have a C-lens stuck on a SD. The ring is completely stuck and there is no way to get the leatherette off. Not sure if it is able to come off. Looks very different than shown in de video.
Same problem today! I just have one screw on my pro sd body there’s no extra hole to insert a paper clip into

Apologies folks... The lens was simply stuck, to much tension. I used a rubber strap wrench and applied a small amount of pressure. That's all it took...

I have a pretty similar issue but this time it's not about removing the lens. It's the opposite. During a shoot yesterday, I was shooting with 180mm and I was planning to change the lens (250mm) on the remaining half of the film. I was able to remove the 180mm, no problem. But when I tried to attach the other lens, it feels like it's stuck for no reason. The body and lens are cocked. Do you know why it happened? Also, most importantly, do you know how to fix it?
When I received the camera a couple of months ago, I was able to change the lenses 180-250-180, normally. Since then, I have only been shooting with the 180mm, without changing it.

Thanks a lot, but my hole had a small screw and even after unscrewing it off, the remaining hole is too small for the paperclip angle and I can't work the procedure. My body number is C82953. Is it from an earlier or later generation? Thanks
Any price range to CLA a Rb67? It works fine just felt like I need to service it before anything happens
Hi, my feeling is that if your camera is working fine, nothing is needed in terms of service. Nothing really preventative that I can do. When you have symptoms of some issue, please contact me and I will be glad to help with advice and maybe an operation check.

Hello there I would like to ask do we really need a lens adapter for sekor C lens on Mamiya Pro Sd body ?
You can use the RB Sekor C lens on the Pro SD body without the adapter. Since the Pro SD body lens opening is a little larger than the Pro S, the adapter gives the older C lens for a slightly tighter fit but is not absolutely necessary.

I think ive mounted an uncocked to a cocked. Can fire the camera, cock with the lever, the lens fires but the ring wont budge
