      I will try it with pork asado! Thanks for the steps on how to do that wonderful effect on the crust - That’s how I remember my great grandma made it back home in the Philippines and they really are a labour of love!

      @@purpleyam2617 Yes dear. You can bake this at 350°F/180°C for 12 to 15 minutes or until light brown depending on your oven's specification.

    This is the dough I love which no one here in NYC makes. The inky one I know is this woman who taught me how one day (mother of my friend) but she died.
    I will try this recipe. Reminds me of my childhood days. Many make empanadas but not this flakey crust! Thank you!

Why don’t you make a recipe book out of all the videos you have because I will definitely buy all your books. You are good in making the instructions on how to do it.     In Malaysia we called this karipap pusing😂 the filling mostly are just chicken curry with potato. Can't wait to try your version!

    I have made this about 4 or 5 times now and it comes out perfect every time. I add some cornmeal for the second dough and use coconut oil when I don't have enough butter and it still comes out perfect and so tasty. It's a big hit in my family. I reheat left overs in my air fryer to always get that flaky texture. This recipe is a must try if you haven't as yet. Thanks for sharing! 🥰

    Big hit. The fried was far superior to the baked. Did run short by 4 when it came to meat stuffing. Great recipe and the extra steps for the pastry was well worth the time.

    Would you be able to you this dough to make Hopia, bake it instead of fry? I just love how flaky the layers are. Like a quick croissant almost. I will definitely try making empanadas this way! My project for my next day off. Thank you for sharing this!
