Long time no see!! Welcome back boss! Is it worth doing anything like what you've done for the old XMG version with the 2070 GPU, with stock cooling solution? Well, 8:16 answers my question! 😂😂
Not really worth, even if u find a good vbios and u get a little boost in perf the temps are going to skyrocket. After some use (3-4 months) a chip always blows, happend to me to 3 different laptops so not really recomended 😂 also the perf difference is small
Feels good to be back man! And yep, 8:16 says it all :) Besides, RTX 20 can't make use of it, because their mobile GPU models all had the same TGP. RTX 2070 mobiles always came with 115W TGP. That's why it's only applicable for RTX 30 and 40. Let's see what blackwell brings up
@@TechModLab I'm just sad with XMG about their promise to make that version of the laptop upgradable to Gen4.. and it never happened due to politics.. Tom @ XMG made it clear in Reddit
Great video. I tryed this on my razor blade 15 but was not sure if it worked. Sadly I switched to dedicated GPU only mode ... the Laptop booted into windows like you descirbed. Is there any way to change back to intigrated gpu while blind or do i have to buy this bios overriter hardware?
Just use the port for integrated gpu with an adapter and connect it to different monitor, it will boot up fine and you can simply put original vbios back
@@asure6760 sadly there is none. the laptop has a mux switch :(. (never buying used razer ever again xd) Is it possible to navigate nvidia control panel blind to change back to nvidia optimus?
@@diederichgarz6317 any usb 10 gig port should work with an usb to hdmi adapter, just give it a shot. My laptop has mux switch too when the same thing happened to me I just used a usb to hdmi adapter.
Depends on if it switches to dGPU in Windows automatically, or if it is set to dGPU mode in UEFI BIOS. In most cases it will boot with the iGPU just fine, even if the vBIOS is not compatible to output an image. So, it strongly depends on your hardware and presets the vendor made. Safe method is using remote desktop though
Use nvcleanstall from techpowerup if your RTX 4060 does not get recognized after vBIOS crossflash. But afaik this should not happen. Are you sure you flashed a vBIOS with the correct DeviceId?
I was really sad, that you haven't posted for a year. I really hope the uploads will be more frequent, as the videos are top notch quality.
Working on it! :) Already got content for at least two videos. "Only" need to cut them. More than 14 hours of material to fight trough 😅

Concerning time yes, concerning happiness no ;) my son is awesome
Thank you for coming back :)
Would be interesting to see laptop heatsink mods from you, especially for asus g18 :D
Great video as always! Can't wait for the next videos ^^ Very useful information. I'll attempt to follow your guide to flash my 3080 :D

No. You can use the vBioses with the same device ID, only
