I’m kind of glad she is struggling now. This is the best time to try out the new skills. We are less than a year before the Olympics!
I hate to see her upset, but it is good that there's a bit of a struggle now. Her true timing has to be the worlds and olympics, not now. If I recall, Nastia struggled in the nationals before her big Olympic win as well (missed her foot on a beam dismount and landed on her face). Get those struggles out of the way now, then peak to shine at the perfect times!
I'd rather Simone have a crap meet here, than have it all unravel in Tokyo.
Even if she places fourth, it's not like USAG will leave her off the team.
They wil never live her out of the team never. Unles she is injured.
Struggling in what sense? UB has never been her forte, so nothing new. She did a double double dismount which is incredible and the issue on floor is too much power in the new skill (which is way above everyone else). Her 2016 routine could easily beat everyone else today.
At this point if Simone’s in a competition you’re competing in. Your goal is to strive to get 2nd. 😩

Ok I get that she's amazing and stuff, but it doesn't really make say that on this particular video, because she didn't actually win the Uneven Bars here... she came third... Ironically, at the world champs, she came second herself behind Nina Derwael lmao- she's never won an international uneven bars title, so makes little sense to say that other gymnasts' goal is to get second, when she can be easily beaten on bars.
@@leanderhartley4987 Landon was probably talking about the all around competition, not the uneven bars which is obviously her weakest event.

She coyld easily do what she has always done and win....this is an athlete who strives for more and that says a lot. Some do their routine perfectly but nothing new.
The first time I saw her leading up to Rio - it was on floor. I had NEVER seen any gymnast get such air the way she did/does. #simplythebest

They dont care about anyone else but her...most people last saw her in Rio. @Jennifer Roberson Tim was an Olympic gold medalist. Lol He is very much qualified to critique her technique. I honestly can't stand his shady comments but the truth is he does know what he's talking about. And he has performed just as difficult routines on high bar.

Amazing as usual, but I think she fell out of her hand stand at the start and had to do an extra kip? And she uncharacteristically landed quite low on her chest on her dismount. I think she can fix that.
Jonas Jonsson to be fair her dismount was new, and she definitely will be fixing that
I think she was just really mad since her floor routine and that affected her other routines so I don't think it's something to worry about in the long run

If you're asking if she changed coaches since Rio, then yes. She switched to Laurent and Cecile Landi for her comeback while she had Amy Boorman as her coach pre-Rio. If you're asking whether she switched coaches since the beginning of her comeback, then no.

Trilogy X - she had uncharacteristic small, although noticeable mistakes throughout the routine, and as a result, her execution score suffered greatly
Short handstands, late turns, leg separations, flexed feet, and low landing.
E score is very fair. Many form errors.

Simone you’re fantastic but please work on toe point and leg/body tension more. It would elevate her work and give it the final touch. her physique and style of gymnastics is not one of elegance but I think she could improve more on that side of things. (Just to be very picky)

Her artistry and her overall form on UB has really gotten worst since she is with the Landi's...
I think Landi's approach to improving her bars was just make her do more reps. Get her confidence up that way and then upgrade. He said her technique was "good enough" so I don't think he's really working with her to improve it.
I don't know enough about UB to know what specifics to improve. I know some people swing more fluidly than others and have better lines naturally. Simone is more of a "muscle it around" gymnast. Is that what you mean? She also doesn't appear to hit all the handstands vertically, but I have wondered whether that is a camera angle thing.

What happened to gymnastics? She's a great gymnast but now a days it seems like its rushed and just trying to get it over with...gymnastics now is dumbed down compared to back in the 90's or 70's
