@tbonedrumcam is there different strengths in the springs? Because I went to a show and I saw a guy using the spring and it looked so much more loose than this one.. I would like to buy one but I wouldn't want an really flimsy one
To answer all the questions, his setup here is: Meinl: Byzance Trad 14" medium hats Mb20 20" heavy crash Classics 22" Medium ride Byzance Trad 22" medium crash Mb20 20" rock china Zildjian 6" Zil-Bel. He's a Meinl endorser, but he uses the Zildjian bell. PLEASE everyone stop telling people who ask it's the Meinl one!
@PearLDrummeR1871 That's actually his ride cymbal, but it's a Meinl Classics Bell. They come in three pitches: low, medium, and high. They are all 8" diameter. They're very comparable to a Zildjian Zil-Bel, or an LP Ice Bell.
His Meinl cymbal setup is.... MB20 heavy bell ride 22", MB20 rock china 20", MB20 Heavy Crash 20", Byzance traditional medium crash 22", Byzance traditional medium hi hats 14", Classic Medium bell 8"
@drumsishot well originally a ''drum kit'' was designed to keep time. Noticed how in the intro he hits his snare on the 3rd count of the measure? Hes keeping time.
I met this guy at Taco Bell before a show in ATL and during the show while drumming he waved at me then after the show he threw me his drum sticks 😃 what a great show 🥰
Not as cool at meeting him in a taco bell, but I met him once during a show in Pitt. He was near the back of the crowd watching another band play. Spoke with him for a while. super nice dude.
idk how some of you people think that he sucks. his drumming is sick and goes perfect with the music and his foot work is amazing and i think he actually is a great metalcore drummer
@misterbritish94 Byzance 14" medium hats, Mb20 20" heavy crash, Classics 22" medium ride (but it doesn't say that on his page, Meinl said it in a blog), Byzance 22" Medium crash, Mb20 20" china. Bell is a 6" Zildjian Zil bel.
@breakingyourfacein im a drummer and i dont diss other band members...when a person writes a song its not about how much notes you put it in it,its about how efficent(
@drumsishot its not about anything you said drumming is about keeping time D00D but daniel willaims is a great drummer hes not like a simple metal drummer he creates complex patterns that sound nice and fit the song
i see wut you are sayin but matt doesnt just rely on double pedal. he incorporates it in ways that a lot of drummers cant. like i said though they are both good and i like both. honestly it isnt about who is better it is who sounds better. in my opinion that is matt
@MultiDrummerboy24 Meinl aren't gonna tell people he's using their competitor's bell are they? Have you ever heard a Meinl bell that sounds like the bells in Prada's songs? This is a Zil-Bel, listen to one and you'll see, look on his Myspace and you'll see, Zil-Bels. Check any live video and it'll sound like this Zil-Bel, or the larger one. You'd probably be able to see the logo even in some of their videos.
im sure he breaks his cymbals in really fast with how hard he hits them, and his drum heads, but on the other hand, he must go through like 5 pairs of sticks per show!!!!!! love this band!!!!
@FatalGForce um really we dnt really count i mean we practice the songs so much that we have it down in practice we count like verse x2 chorus x2 fill but when it come too onstage its easy and fun to see crowds Go crazy for you :) hope i answered ur question
im not the one puting them in metalcore they just are. they arnt as heavy as some metalcore bands but look up underoath and on wikipedia the first line of their bio says "Underoath is an American metalcore band from Tampa, Florida."
And before anyone tries to argue with me with the whole "why don't you try it and do better" thing, I'll let you know that I have tried it and YES I can actually play his parts including the double pedal triplet pattern parts exactly like the CD. The drum parts aren't difficult at all, they're actually quite simple once you get the hang of it, it just sorta bums me out to see that I can actually play Daniel's own parts more precise than he can.
@MRA7XMAD That's way outdated, it said that WAY before the Assitant Video came out. Also, in the Meinl blog post, it says that they haven't updated his page because the Classics ride isn't on it. He uses 2 chinas now as well and it doesn't say. Photos from the studio, and new live vids show it. Do your research.
I love how he uses his China. He uses it a lot, but in a good way. Most metalcore bands overuse the China, but he uses it perfectly. He's such a beast haha
@Hammy0924 Nah, Zil-Bel. I've had this argument on his vids a million times haha, he's a Meinl endorser but it's definitely the Zildjians. Check out recent live videos, he's using the 6" and 9.5" Zil-Bels now. Meinl just brought out a new M-Series bell though, he'll probably start using that as his low bell soon, but the 6" Zildjian is too iconic a TDWP sound ever since Dear Love for him to switch!
@PearLDrummeR1871 its called a bell..meinl has one and since hes endorsed by meinl he uses meinl's bell...but i prefer zildjians bell its much higher and yes its called a zil-bell
@teeth87 Like I said, if you slow his parts down to Aaron's speed they're still more complex. Also, Matt says in interviews he likes to take his double pedal off and practice without it a lot of the time to develop foot skills, do some research before trying to make me look stupid. ABR are a really intense band, Underoath can still sound good without the double bass, but it's part of ABR's sound. Yes Aaron is awesome, but Matt is just something else.
My middle school band is huge. Like over 70 people and we are still good. But My high school band is big but the marching only has 20 people and they had to bring me and a friend up to play snare and crash
Can someone please tell me what that thing is holding his China cymbal, like its like at the cymbal itself its not the stand its like an extension to the stand but why does he need it? I mean he has it in every video I've seen of him playing his set.
can someone tell me what kind of secondary crash he's using? and please dont tell me the mb20 crash just becuase of the meinl website, its wrong like for most of the artists
@ChucktownDrummer Gurantee you it's Zil-Bel, no way is that a Meinl Bell. It looks and sounds like a Zil-Bel, like on all their albums and other live videos. He says himself on his Myspace he uses Zil-Bels, despite the Meinl endorsement.
@drumsishot dude the drummers number one priority is keepng time. If as a drummer you cant keep time then nothing else matters and the band would be better off not even having drums if you cant play in time. It's probably the biggest part of drumming
@rjthegolfer93 It really doesn't: I was just stating an observation. You can easily break cymbals when you play like that though. Williams on his strengths: "does playing hard as crap count?"
@MRA7XMAD Watch the Assistant to the Regional Manager video, and read Meinl's blog post about this exact video, then tell me he doesn't use a classics ride.
One of the coolest and nicest guys I've ever met
tnx for posting this...like this!!
daniel's drum skill is so aAMaziNg!!
he's one of my favorite drummers
i was there!!! SUCH A GOOD SHOW!!!!!
@tbonedrumcam is there different strengths in the springs? Because I went to a show and I saw a guy using the spring and it looked so much more loose than this one.. I would like to buy one but I wouldn't want an really flimsy one
DAMINIT I JUST HAD TO PICK UP MY GUITAR AND PLAY ALONG TO THIS!!!!!!
Daniel Williams I
his playing style is amazing, i dont care who u are, this guy is awesome...
i was like a row from tha stage!! they ruled and so did haste tha day and all that remains!
i love this song
To answer all the questions, his setup here is:
Meinl:
Byzance Trad 14" medium hats
Mb20 20" heavy crash
Classics 22" Medium ride
Byzance Trad 22" medium crash
Mb20 20" rock china
Zildjian 6" Zil-Bel.
He's a Meinl endorser, but he uses the Zildjian bell. PLEASE everyone stop telling people who ask it's the Meinl one!
The whole time I felt the drums were going to blow up. Beast.
Best song of the night.... Always is
yeah one day we had a percussion sectional and only me and the other good ppl came so we did a parade with buckets. it was great.
aw dude thats epic. we get new music after break. hes going to give me a blank peice of paper again i bet.
It's an Aquarian Cymbal spring. He uses it because it helps the cymbal absorb the shock from massive blows and extends the life of the cymbal.
@iHateBuffering089 r u sure ? check the mienl website and his setup is on there. unl;ess he is using a zil-bel for this gig
@theSchlotterheir he plays meinl , this is the official channel of meinl and he's sponsored by them!
@drumsishot well originally a ''drum kit'' was designed to keep time. Noticed how in the intro he hits his snare on the 3rd count of the measure? Hes keeping time.
Kids amazing on drums, one of my favorites.
d00d i was at this show, it was so sick.
i was at that show, it was sick
Back then he was using the Meinl Byzance 21" Heavy Ride. But now he's using the MB20 22" Heavy Bell Ride.
@DHDrumming It's cos it's on an Aquarian cymabl spring. The stand itself is fine, the spring is meant wobble like that, helps protect chinas :)
love it.
@theSchlotterheir well ok. On the Meinl website it says 8" Classics or something. he's sponsored my Meinl, so was assuming it was a meinl.
idk how some of you people think that he sucks. his drumming is sick and goes perfect with the music and his foot work is amazing and i think he actually is a great metalcore drummer
@pandamanparty er.. its on the official channel of meinlcymbals and the logo is a meinl logo.. so..
Daniel's drumming on "Zombies" is so technical is insane.
@breakingyourfacein im a drummer and i dont diss other band members...when a person writes a song its not about how much notes you put it in it,its about how efficent(
@PearLDrummeR1871 you nailed it. it's an aluminum bell.
@Mp5Drummer go on the meinl website and see for urslef that he doesnt use a classics ride
@TheMustardChoke where is this sloppy??? its tight, he keeps time very well, and it sounds amazing.
Daniel is soo beast
@drumsishot its not about anything you said drumming is about keeping time D00D but daniel willaims is a great drummer hes not like a simple metal drummer he creates complex patterns that sound nice and fit the song
i see wut you are sayin but matt doesnt just rely on double pedal. he incorporates it in ways that a lot of drummers cant. like i said though they are both good and i like both. honestly it isnt about who is better it is who sounds better. in my opinion that is matt

its on meinls myspace, its called a talk with daniel williams or something like that
im sure he breaks his cymbals in really fast with how hard he hits them, and his drum heads, but on the other hand, he must go through like 5 pairs of sticks per show!!!!!! love this band!!!!
that was sick
@FatalGForce um really we dnt really count i mean we practice the songs so much that we have it down in practice we count like verse x2 chorus x2 fill but when it come too onstage its easy and fun to see crowds Go crazy for you :) hope i answered ur question
@DistorshunBand it say's on his meinl page its an 8 inch... but he might have a new set up by now, who knows.
the blog that has these videos in it from meinl say its a classics 22 medium ride
im not the one puting them in metalcore they just are. they arnt as heavy as some metalcore bands but look up underoath and on wikipedia the first line of their bio says "Underoath is an American metalcore band from Tampa, Florida."
BEST ONE
@1watchmov1es i think its mostly the poor sound quality, but i was thinking the same thing.
The video quality is GREAT! but i wish you could have recorded it in the front row or somewhere infront of the speakers.
I wish there was a picture of the kit he's using
@Mp5Drummer go look on the meinl website. he's using a classics bell, NOT a zil-bell
@Mp5Drummer do ya think that u could post a link 2 it ?
@drumcoverer all his hardware is DW 9000
And before anyone tries to argue with me with the whole "why don't you try it and do better" thing, I'll let you know that I have tried it and YES I can actually play his parts including the double pedal triplet pattern parts exactly like the CD. @dannyss29 its an aquarian cymbal spring i have one i love it..
Do your research.
i love the way james just go show up out of nowhere lol
now that you both mentioned that its not flimsy like i thought. how much are the springs?
I love how he uses his China. He uses it a lot, but in a good way. Most metalcore bands overuse the China, but he uses it perfectly. He's such a beast haha
@Hammy0924 Nah, Zil-Bel. I've had this argument on his vids a million times haha, he's a Meinl endorser but it's definitely the Zildjians. haha the pianist just headbangs in front of Daniel for a little then he's like,"I'm gonna go play the now!"
@PearLDrummeR1871 its called a bell..meinl has one and since hes endorsed by meinl he uses meinl's bell...but i prefer zildjians bell its much higher and yes its called a zil-bell

@Z3R0Gamingchannel Mb20 rock china, either 20 or 18. Not sure. You can check on the meinl website tho
He has never used a zilbel, he always uses meinl cymbals, the bell he's using on his ride is a 7" meinl classic bell.
its a Meinl(of course) MB20 Rock China. a 2o inch one to be exact:)
That's huge!
I wish he kept the arrangement of his cymbals like this :(
YOURE NOT ALONE....
@Keebok808 one of the best metalcore drummers
@Colenelly i'm sorry but i have never heard a song similar to swords or who speaks spanish. especially the instrumentals in that song.
wow his foot work sounds way better than another vid of him i watched and he sounds more controlled but hes still a very talented drummer!
aquarian cymbal springs my man
@drummer4life15 I was just being sarcastic because he's with meinl cymbals.
Dan williams is one epic dude!
My middle school band is huge. Like over 70 people and we are still good. But My high school band is big but the marching only has 20 people and they had to bring me and a friend up to play snare and crash
2:40-3:17 is awesome.
Can someone please tell me what that thing is holding his China cymbal, like its like at the cymbal itself its not the stand its like an extension to the stand but why does he need it? I mean he has it in every video I've seen of him playing his set.
what is he using for his china thats making it bounce?
I heart TDWP
can someone tell me what kind of secondary crash he's using? and please dont tell me the mb20 crash just becuase of the meinl website, its wrong like for most of the artists
indeed
i bet his cymbals have an cym-gasm every time daniel hits them lmao. :D he's a freakin god with the sticks.
@PearLDrummeR1871 a zil bel, definatly get 1, theyre so awesome, but expensive...
They need to record with better quality camera lol, maybe it can clear up Daniel's playing as well ;p
@JakeTheDrummer18 on his myspace it says Vic Firth Rock wood tip sticks
@ChucktownDrummer Gurantee you it's Zil-Bel, no way is that a Meinl Bell. It looks and sounds like a Zil-Bel, like on all their albums and other live videos. He says himself on his Myspace he uses Zil-Bels, despite the Meinl endorsement.
@drumsishot Daniel is THE fucking boss
Praise the lord
Same here bro...
can anyone tell me what the name of that springy thing holding his china, i need one.
@Mp5Drummer actually dw its fine
lol at 1:33. Daniel is like "get the fuck outta here you crazy mosher, I'm trying to be a BAWSE at drumming'!
@Olepej96 he switched to demon drives actually. not really sure why though
i love how the china moves! thanx to that dw stand!
i was there a little more to the right!
@drummerboii15 no he is actually using a zil-bel in this vid
@drumsishot dude the drummers number one priority is keepng time. If as a drummer you cant keep time then nothing else matters and the band would be better off not even having drums if you cant play in time. It's probably the biggest part of drumming
