@@outsiderwatches Hi Rob, have you got any dilema about picking the colour with your new ceramic bezel purchase? Green, black, blue, grey, all look super cool.
Having already owned the black aluminium version, and having been keen on the black bay 58 in blue, the decision was easy for me. Longines haven’t released the 39mm in green yet. I think that will be a stunner. I am not too keen on the grey version, as it is only available in two tone.
That’s a good point. In terms of looks alone, a dateless version would look great. I do like having the date but I have never been a fan of the 4:30 windows, so I am not sure…..
There is nothing wrong with the clasp on the Longines. Nothing. The Tudor costs about $2,200 more. Where are you getting more value? You are not. Tudor is Rolex lite.
Not sure I understand what point you are making. To suggest there is nothing wrong with the clasp suggests it could not be improved. The clasp could easily improved and at very little cost. A double push button mechanism can be found on watches costing a few hundred pounds, so Longines could easily do a better job.
@@outsiderwatches My point is the clasp does its job without fail. It needs no more improvement unless its design is somehow faulty. Is its design faulty?
@johnraba9322 A Casio FW91 is not faulty. It does the job efficiently. That does not mean it is high quality. My Mako 40’s bracelet and clasp are not faulty, but they are not of sufficient quality to put on the hydroconquest… Probably best to agree our differences on this one…

Tudor needs to step up their dial designs, they are very bland and one dimensional. Also most of their watches in the Black Bay line have polished cases and easy to scratch. I have the 39mm blue, the old version and man they should work on a new bracelet and clasp maybe a bracelet that tappers to 16mm this would be the perfect watch…I’m big fan of tudor i have the bb36 and bb58 black guilt…and i just got the call on the new ranger but still on waiting list for the bb pro..
Agreed.
I registered my interest in the pro on the day of launch and got the call last Friday, but decided against buying as explained in the video. So hopefully yours won’t be long.
Do you mean your Ranger has already arrived?
Rob
@outsider watches haven’t arrived yet but my ad called me and told me that they secured me one maybe in a week or two…fingers crossed

Please let me know what you think when it arrives.
I registered my interest on Friday, so I’m hopeful too. Seems to be a lot of negativity around it, but the 2 things that put me off the previous version (too big at 41mm and the awful straight end links) have been solved. Add in the movement from the BB58, the T fit clasp and the price, and I think it’s a hell of a watch. Font on numerals much nicer then the modern explorers in my humble opinion.
Rob
@outsider watches sure i will…..yes I’ve watched basically every review out there lol, but honestly i don’t care cause i like it its all opinions at the end of the day, and just hope that the bracelet fits also my bb58 in theory it should, just hope they didn’t do something to the bracelet to make it don’t fit the bb58 lol…
@outsider watches got the ranger and love it….in person looks better than pics, and the best part the bracelet fits perfect on the bb58, if u have Instagram i can send u pics
Does the longines 39 have half links?
Hello,
Yes it does have a couple of half links.
Rob
It also has 3 micro adjusts.
@@outsiderwatches thanks man
What is the lug to lug length on the 39mm?
Hi John,
It’s 47mm.
I have included all the specs in an earlier video if you fancy watching.
Cheers,
Rob
When have you bought the aluminuim bezel hydronconquest? How many years do you got it? I love look of the hydronconquest and consider to save money to buy some. But I love just all the colour variants! I love also variant on rubber strap, looks super cool. Its so hard to pick one, I would take all ! :D
Hi Marek,
I bought the aluminium bezel 41mm in 2008. It has been a brilliant watch. Very sturdy and it keeps time very well. I had it serviced a couple of years ago by Longines Uk, and I was very pleased with the process. I suppose that is why I am such a Longines fan - the way a company looks after its customers is very important.
Take care,
Rob
@@outsiderwatches Hi Rob, have you got any dilema about picking the colour with your new ceramic bezel purchase? Green, black, blue, grey, all look super cool.
Having already owned the black aluminium version, and having been keen on the black bay 58 in blue, the decision was easy for me.
Longines haven’t released the 39mm in green yet. I think that will be a stunner.
I am not too keen on the grey version, as it is only available in two tone.
@@outsiderwatches yes, but grey and green version is 41 mm, what about those if the diameter was only smaler?
@@marekmusil3179 It would be blue or green for me. What about you?
I love the conquest but I feel it's blatantly unbalanced. I'd rather have the date at 4:30 and the 3 indice.
My Mako 40’s bracelet and clasp are not faulty, but they are not of sufficient quality to put on the hydroconquest…
Probably best to agree our differences on this one…
Longines is great
Agreed!
Big Hydro in black on rubber. Hamilton in titanium and couldn’t care less if I bought another watch. I never get my head around diver watches totally in metal. It’s like god didn’t invent sand.
Very good point Simon, although I can’t get on with rubber straps. I find they get clammy very quickly. Have just put the 41 HC on a Bond NATO and I love how it looks.
It’s shown at the start of my latest Seiko GMT video.
Rob
Es más chulo el Tudor, pero cuesta el triple
Si! Sorry I don't speak Spanish, but thank you for your comment! I agree the Tudor is very cool. But I also love the Longines.
Great video 👍 would you say the 39mm is most like a 41mm Submariner in size? I've seen the 41mm Hydro next to the 41mm sub and the hydro looks bigger?
Hello.
Unfortunately I have never been lucky enough to wear a Submariner so I honestly couldn't tell you. Sorry! I must admit, when I bought the 41mm Hydroconquest in 2008, I remember thinking it had lots of Submariner DNA. The 39mm Hydroconquest is significantly smaller visually than the 41 mm though. Perfect for my 6.5 inch wrist.
Rob
@@outsiderwatches thanks Rob!
Tudor needs to step up their dial designs, they are very bland and one dimensional.
Also most of their watches in the Black Bay line have polished cases and easy to scratch. The only brushed one is the 925 silver one.
Not to mention their bezel inserts are aluminium (apart from the Pelagos) which, for £3000+ watches is a big letdown.
The new Ranger is all brushed, but as you say, the dial lacks imagination..
OMG, Longines over Tudor!!! I think u need to take a DRUG test...
Oh, why is that?
@@outsiderwatches Albert Einstein is the best part of Longines... After that, VERY ARROGANT AD's and DEALERS... Seiko like quality.. But its all good, as long as u like the watch..

Yes it puts me off when any sales person is unfriendly, and I guess if you’ve had a bad experience with the brand then it’s hard to trust them again.
In their defence, I have never had an issue with any Longines AD and the customer service I received from their service centre was superb, so I guess I could be considered a Longines loyalist.
My HC 41mm is 14 years old and still looks and works like it did when I bought it.
Still love Tudor though, and I am on the waiting list for the new Ranger.
Rob
Longines make far more interesting watches than Tudor. Tudor need to design some new watches, they have become the bland bay brand.
😃
lol
Totally agree with you. I own a tudor black bay and pelagos. The black bay reminds me of a grandpa old man watch. I never wear the dam thing. My pelagos sits in my watch box never wear that either. I find myself wearing my hamilton and longines most of the time.
