I just bought the black dial 39mm aluminum bezel. I was going to buy the new ceramic but I liked the busy dial. It’s a great watch. It’s been hard to find time for my other watches. I thought I was going to baby it and where it sometimes but it stays on my wrist. Such a great watch
The reason I never bought hydroconquest before cause of the old one and now with the new design looks much better and more refined so I’m really considering buying the blue one 41mm👍🏼
Good vid. I have both the old and new 39mm hydroconquest. I prefer the new for the ceramic bezel and cleaner dial. The only thing I dislike with the new version is the polished centre links. I fixed it by brushing it out with scotchbrite after seeing a youtuber did that. My new black ceramic hydro with all brushed bracelet is my perfect GADA and I'm a happy camper.
I have the older version. I’ve found the crown guards difficult to deal with but it’s been a reliable movement. Mine is also about 5 years old and was my first Swiss watch. I’m saving for and Omega Planet Ocean but will be keeping my Longines
@@OneLordeAnimeClips I find it harder to unscrew and wind the watch if needed than other watches I’ve had. They’re not really the most flattering design either. It’s still a good watch though and I wear it every day. Keep’s good time.
@@ianwoollard2063 Ah I see, that would be kind of a pain to deal with. For the price point though I don't think there's anything better so I'm most likely going to pull the trigger on it.
I see the older version going for $450 less than the new at a local AD. My only consideration being the lack of half links and I think maybe a 2 yr warranty instead of 5. Thanks for pointing out the differences.
Just bought a brand new HC 43 mm green face. My complaint is the clasp which does not has a “ click “ sound when closed and a challenge opening because it is too tight. The crown logo does not set in a horizontal position when it is screwed down. Otherwise, an excellent watch….
Not having an updated clasp on the new ones for what they’re charging is a farce imo and I love the Conquest series. In Canada this watch is 2150 - there are cheaper brands with better clasps than this from smaller micro brands. Hell, even Steinhart with its pressed clasp is using thicker steel for it. That’s my one gripe and what kept me away from this model - glad they came out with the smaller version though.
Nice review. In terms of the design, it seems the left one shows lots of (big) numbers, different from the right one. A little confused, when I take a glance 😅. Anyway, I love them all 😁.
Owned both sold the new one and kept the older one as I prefer the busy dial. I would have preferred the old one with the ceramic bezel like the USA Limited Edition version.
This watch looks more balanced in 39 mm than the larger versions. The date seems bigger in proportions…. still no date with nuber 3 would be perfect :))
How?? I have a 2015 model with the symmetric watch face (not just 6 9 12 but every number is visible and red ended second marker like on the new pre-facelift model) with of course alu bezel but i cannot scratch it somehow it is very durable for me
I bought old version 44mm at AD, and wasn't sure about movement in the watch, because the warranty is 5 years and it has plastic stump that says silicone balanced spring and power reserve 72h. Than I send email to longines customer service, I send them s/n of the watch and they replyed to me that watch has inside newer movement L 888.5. I have watch now little over a year, and it is fantastic, gain about 2 sec per day. Best regards to all....
I’ve been trying to figure out why some of the Hydroconquest has a red marker on the second hand and others do not … thank you I’ve been trying to figure this out for a while. I do very much prefer with the red marker.
Why did they remove the applied baton hour markers AND the single minute markers in the bezel past the 15 minute mark? 😞 It's simpler in design, which definitely satisfies the tastes of many in the community. But unfortunately, not a move that works for me. I prefer a more visually interesting watch. A part of me wishes that they launch another 39mm model with the same styling as the aluminum bezel version, but just in ceramic. Oh well, at least it makes people looking for a simpler dive watch happy. This is a great wrist watch for them.

Hopefully the next hydrogen version of longines will have a better design, the current version is too rough and clunky, 41mm size but 50.8mm lug to lug it's too long. with 39mm version lug is 49mm

Thank you for this video. I was trying to figure out the difference between the old and the new. I actually do prefer the old both are beautiful.
I have the old one and I love it. I like the red on the seconds hand and enjoy the busier bezel.

Had the old version in black. Sold it and regretted it. Thinking about this blue one seriously. Nice video also.
99% of the time selling a watch comes with regrets unfortunately. I know the feeling.
Bought the grey one, with rubber strap and replaced it by the beige (lightbrown) longines nato strap. Absolute killer watch.

What’s the reason for the crown guards being difficult? Do they dig into your skin? Or is it because they obstruct the crown too much?

Does anyone know the lug-to-lug measurements on both? (My wrist size: 6.25)
I go for the cheapet, both wonderful nice comparison
bezel action would have been nice to see, Thank you for the vidéo :)

How accurate is it for both models? I meant +|- seconds per day?

I kind of prefer the old one as well. It has a bit more character. The new one feels a bit more generic

Yes a no date version would be killer!
It deserve to spend 350 dollars more for the Upgrade bezel? I had aluminum bezel that was damaging quiet a lot

Both watches have a 5year warranty, unlike what another comment states. Both currently have the same movement. Just look a bit different.
Pretty sure they don't have the same movement

hello sir. ı'd like to ask you that should ı change my old HC with new one? is it necessary ?
What is the model number on your new 39mm?
The old model has a red arrow for the second hand, the new model has a white lollipop. I like the old version better overall.

I thought that was because one model has aluminum bezel and the other has ceramic bezel

Jomashop has the old version for $950. I'm thinking of buying it.. but they also have the new for 1225. Is it worth paying the additional amount?
@@benjamingruen6820is jomashop verified ? Do they deliver authentic or there could a possibility of fake due to extra discount which they offer ?

Any suggestions?
Is the dial color the same or is it different?
The old one have a darker blue tone
@@felaron1 which dial looks better?
Are these cos 🤔 Regulated
No. But mine keeps +5/day.
The old one was hideous. New one is a legit luxury watch.
New one is too generic. There are ton of watches like that. Like the busy dial and red seconds hand on the old one.
They failed again on the bracelet and specifically the clasp that’s a shame cause its an awsome watch
Why do you say so? Curious since I'm looking to purchase the new model.

The old one looks terrible compared to the new one when you gave them side by side in your hands.
The new is cleaner looking.❤
Subtle but much improved.
Lumen ?
Lume is actually blue on the new one. And is a bit brighter and lasts a bit longer.
