This is the intro and opening track on the album, so of course they used it for the epic opening number for the concerts at Makuhari Messe at the end of January - their first live concerts in nearly 2 years.
At the concerts on 1st and 2nd April they revealed former Avenger Momoko is now the official third member - now to be known as Momometal ... so you will be among the first outside of Japan to see the "new" trio all mic'd up and singing.
If you haven't heard the rest of the album yet more reactions will be fun - there are a few surprises in there for you (and don't worry if you heard the songs live in Leeds, you can still do reactions and tell us if they played that song and what you thought of it live as well).
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛 Oh! You will be one of the lucky audience in Leeds. This video is from Makuhari shows on Jan.28 /29. I also luckily witnessed both shows at the venue. You saw one octagonal movable / elevatable stage but actually there were two identical stages for more surprising production. Several drones with camera were flying around all over the venue.
Once this opening song by Su and Moa got started, I had goosebumps all over my body. The show was held after the almost 2-year long hiatus after all. Seriously many of audience (including me) were moved to tears and/or dropped their jaws when the gigantic fox wall opened and the thrones came out. Yeah! I chanted all through the song. ♪ Oh oh oh o o o ♪. What a happy experience!! The Kami band was playing on the east stage that was not captured in this video.
After this grave opening, 3 girls performed 12 songs with Momoko Avenger. Did you see 3 (not 2) thrones at 04:59 in your video? Yeah, BM have changed thereafter. Momoko was officially unveiled as Momometal in Yokohama shows on April 1/2 and the 3rd throne was not empty on April 2. I again luckily witnessed the shows. What an epic moment in my personal history as I could see the new BM begin 😍

This one was composed to serve as a show opener. Tailored to set up the atmosphere for the rest of the concert. And it already feels epic... just imagine being there. Well, you will experience that in a couple of days for sure.
These are Moa and Su's thoughts about "METAL KINGDOM" (PMC vol.27 credits to funnytoss for the translation):
MOAMETAL: This one feels like a more straightforward metal song, and it’s quite powerful. The lines “You don’t need words of regret or a path of retreat. Live your future in a place full of lights” sync up very well with the choreography, and it makes me like the lyrics even more. BABYMETAL has been the subject of criticism in the past, but we’re made it this far by cherishing the time we spend with the people we love, and this determination can be felt in this song, and it’s an important one for us.
SU-METAL: This song was incomplete before it was performed live. The MV released the other day featured live footage from “BABYMETAL RETURNS - THE OTHER ONE”. I thought to myself, “Oh, I didn’t know it was going to feel like this!” (laughs) I believe this song was made possible through the power of the audience.
MOAMETAL: "'Metal Kingdom' was really cool after we added the choreography to it. We didn’t perform the choreo for it at Makuhari, and I think its coolness is fully unleashed only when we perform it with choreo."
SU-METAL: "We can rehearse all we want, but songs like “Metal Kingdom” that involve the audience are only complete with the voices and enthusiasm of the audience."

Nice reaction. Here we have the majestic return of Babymetal to their metal kingdom. The stage in front of live audience. Where they should be. They got their stage theatrics turned up a notch for this performance. Su and Moa carrying their giant tuning forks. That's one way to stay in tune. Babymetal always does something different. Since this show they have added full choreography to the song. Musically I've learned to try not to expect where their songs are going to go or how they're going to sound. Just sit back and enjoy being surprised by where they take us. And they really take us places on the rest of the new album. Babymetal everything you want in music and somethings you didn't know you needed.
My favorite line about this song I've heard is "this is the music God's listen to!"

I had the same feelings when I saw this performance for the first time.
This was the opening song for both nights of their sold out 2 night back to back concerts in Tokyo recently. This is from the 2nd night.
I hope that you get the the chance to react to the LIVE Pro Shot video of Monochrome (also from the 2nd night). During a break in the song Suzuka asks the audience to “Take out your phone!” And “Turn on your light!” She then says “That’s amazing!” “Looks like stars!” She then begins to hum the lyrics with 20,000 lights surrounding the stage. Breathtaking.
On April 1 at their sold out concert In Yokohama it was announced that Momoko Okazaki is officially the third member of BabyMetal and finally received her headset mic. Now with both Moa and Momoko together the backing vocals will be more powerful.

Metal Kingdom seems to be intended to be the show opener, as it was used as the opener both at Makuhari Messe in January, and at Clear Night in April, and it is also the first track on the album. It seems to be designed to set the mood and to build the anticipation of the crowd up for Divine Attack, which follows immediately after on the album and during the live shows.
This song is pretty much just a vocal flex for Su to show what an amazing vocalist she is. When she performed it at Makuhari in January, she had a few little vocal wobbles, as they were having technical difficulties with the audio, but at Clear Night she crushed it live. With some more reps under her belt, I have no doubt she will nail it every time going forwards. Having seen Metal Kingdom live three times, I can tell you that it hits different when they perform it live in person.
Very much looking forward to Wembley on Saturday - would've preferred Sabaton as special guests of Babymetal tbh - would've love to see a Babymetal full set. Mind you, having said that, they only did 1 hour at Hammersmith in February 2020 and I was more than satisfied 😌 Enjoy the gig and take good care of yourself!!😊

Mirror mirror is the heaviest from the album if i remember right. I really love that they are back. You really can hear on their music that they had to heal, but now they were able to move on from the... "Scars" of the past. Thanks for the video! ❤

for the album the other one. I think there are several bands that influenced babymetal songs for this year. but of course I really like it. babymetal have worked hard to create their new music and it's going well until now. although some fans were surprised that they didn't put much of a kawaii metal system on this album.

Never really got into Babymetal. Some songs I like, but the majority not... But Su's voice is ABSOLUTELY amazing. And their shows are fucking great ❤
