    Wow, 9 yrs later...
    I'm just staring my scroll saw journey and would love to know how/ where i can get this template. I have a saw similar to the one you are using in this video, yup it's an old one but budget friendly!
    Thank you for this video!

      I simply just google images off of Internet, make sure to purchase any patterns if I where to sell, but if it was for personal use for skill building, I just download it

    i tried google images, but i don't see a "browning" design like the one you cut out in this video. Do you know where i can find this silhouette? Also i was wondering if you have a video on the wagon panter i saw on your bog? thanks Lisa

    • @SterlingsWoodcrafts
      @SterlingsWoodcrafts  10 років тому

      The wagon was a Steve Ramsey design, I did that before i was making videos, but here is the link to Steves, ua-cam.com/video/IMKYVe5gloc/v-deo.html , and the silhouette was actually a bumper sticker, and I scanned it to my old computer and edited it in print shop, but that computer is dead, or I would be more than glad to send it to you, Thanks again for watching

    golden oak? In these days, the darker the better. Or use a better wood and not have to stain it at all. Slap some Danish oil on that bitch and call it a night. Great video until the choice of stain. Very nice. Thanks!

    I just purchased a scroll saw off of Craigslist. I am a 58 year old grandma that just recently bought my first home. I have always thought about having a little wood working shop in my garage so I started with a scroll saw. I am kinda afraid to start since the only knowledge I have is off of the internet. Your video made it seem so simple. Thanks for help in getting my butt in gear! Look forward to watching your other videos!

    Hi Sterling awesome work! I just started scrolling and I wanted to see if you would give me any advice on turns. I have watched numerous videos and everyone turns the wood easily. When I try and turn the wood it turns the blade with it. Essentially the blade teeth turn to the side mostly when I try and turn the wood piece. It happens very often. I know you can only cut by pushing the wood into the machine very slowly but I try and change directions and it breaks a blade because the blade has turned or it doesnt cut how I want because the blade went with the wood. Any advice? Thank you

    • @SterlingsWoodcrafts
      @SterlingsWoodcrafts  3 роки тому

      first, thanks for watching, appreciate that, as far as turns, Practice, Practice, Practice. It takes time, and a lot of different factors. The density of the wood, the blade size, your tension, figuring these things out take time, best thing i can say is, let the blade do its job, cut, don't force it, practice relief cuts vs making a turn, this will give you 2 options in a turn, as far as turning corners, simply trust the blade will do its job and turn the wood holding down firmly, You got this and Practice , so sorry for the delay, and hope this helps

    Not sure if you'll see this since you posted this video 8 years ago but this video is absolutely amazing. The tutorial is great, you're humble and the music was brilliant. That movie is genius and even though I've seen it a million times the boats and hoes caught me off guard. What a wild ride, thanks buddy.

      How do you say it, thanks so much for watching, I’ve upgraded scrollsaws a few times, I still have my trusty harbor freight Scrollsaw, thanks so much for the kindness and appreciate your support even after eight years lol

    Fellow North Carolinian here, wanted to say thanks for the great video. Definitely trying this tomorrow. Just picked up a used (but in good working condition) delta variable speed 16" scroll saw from the pawn shop for a heck of a price and was looking for some ideas, and this is right up my alley. Thanks again, and keep up the fine work.

    Yes! the scroll saw sanding pins are a MUST,love them..They've been around a long time..

    This was pretty neat. I'm glad you decided to show the Olsen Sander, because I'm new to Scrolling & I primarily use the pinless saw blades for the sharp cuts & I sometimes end up with what looks like a chipmunk chewed on, LOL. I think it must be a common thing that we don't bolt our scroll saws down!

      Appreciate you checking it out, have you tried a reverse skip tooth blade, that may help cut down on the Fuzzys

    i bought a scroll saw for my shop 6 months ago, and finally used it tonight. My first project was this design. I am an avid woodworker, but have never used a scroll saw before. Project came out fairly decent, for it being my first! Definitely need to invest in the sanding tool made for a scroll saw, as I'm sure it would make sanding so much easier! Thanks for the inspiration!

    Great project - good looking wall plaque from scrap! I especially like your tip about removing the glued-on paper! I have gone crazy with sanding off my glued on paper templates so I will try your technique. I assume the heat gun works only with the spray on contact cement?

    I got this same saw, just getting into wood work... When I do my curve cuts or 90° cuts may blade bends instead of staying straight... Any ideas how to fix this? I'm using the blade that came with it so maybe a better blade?

    • @SterlingsWoodcrafts
      @SterlingsWoodcrafts  7 років тому +1

      Its a great saw for the price, but the blades that come with it are junk , i used Olson Blades with this scroll saw, it could be the tension is not tight enough as well. I have upgraded to the DeWalt 788 and its like night and day, if you like scrolling, Upgrade when you can afford it, you will see as you do, the cuts, vibrations, and volume is so much better. Dont get me wrong, i loved my HF Scroll Saw, i just out grew it. Hope that helps out a little , Thanks for checking out my video
