The only band that I've played since I was 11 and still at 63 makes me feel so fantastic or sad or mystical or goofy. So much of my life could be told through their catalog of music.
63 now and started to listen at 15. I completely share your thoughts. The last tour was like my life being played out in front of me. And I have to say heartbreaking seeing Phil so fragile. 😢
No, i get what you're saying Dee K. As a life-long, all-eras fan i of course will be buying a ticket the very moment i hear them announcing 2021 dates for a short US end-run of their "Last Domino?" tour, assuming they do. But in all honesty i would much rather they just did something small and intimate like this again, and just live-stream it or something... :-/ I fear this one last tour might unnecessarily tarnish their brand/image just a wee bit.
@@keykrazy 😕 Yeah. I'm not holding my breath for a second leg of this tour. It's out of my character, but I might have to scrape together several large bucks and head to ________, or whichever UK town has good seats left. If things have cleared up by July…
@Andreas Schwartmann Yes they had an opportunity with a superb new drummer who is part of the family and Daryl on guitar perhaps, during this disastrous pandemic, to pen some new songs and redo a couple of classics, while spending a year rehearsing for a tour that might never happen.
@Andreas Schwartmann On that Last Domino tout teaser, do you think one of the two backing vocalists might be Simon, in Phil's Abacab flat cap, conveniently close to a second drum kit?
Afterglow (my favourite genesis' song) played by Tony Banks with his Yamaha CP-70, sung by Phil Collins... We're in Heaven ! If you can watch the full DVD, there are great interviews and rarities. With Fading lights in the end...

The song i prefer. I listen genesis from 1972. One of the best group i have ever heard. Great musicians. Wind and wuthering not very known one of the best album. Armony and sensibility
I saw them a few times live and loved it very much. I thought about seeing Phil during his current tour but it hurts too much watching him walking on the stage with a cane. He's been suffering a lot since he got the back pain. I feel with him.

2024 and I just found this video. May be the best version of Afterglow I've ever heard.
2025 Just found it too. 👍🏻
Well, the BEST version would include Rutherford on bass and Phil on drums. And Steve Hackett.
For me it's absolutely no 1 among all Genesis songs. Masterpiece.
I agree !
My favorite. I’ve played it the most!
Agreed! Played this vid prob over a thousand times 😅
Hard to pick a number one when it comes to Genesis. For me it's Firth of Fifth, but this song is number one on Wind and Wuthering!
Played by my friend at my mother’s funeral. Perfect. That was 2018, revisiting it for a friend today.

Im not sure people remember how great Collins was......sweet and soulfull!

Just shows what a great song this is! Reduce it to its basics and it reduces me to tears!
Such simplicity in a song a simple tune on the piano and beat of drums and such an incredible voice which just makes this song beautiful.❤Wow!!!
One more evidence that they are talented musicians and that Phil is a great singer...Thanks for loading!
God this is so good. Tony and Phil.
Love love love the clever modulations by the genius Tony. It’s a short and sweet tune, but they’ve shuffled through four major keys by the end of it.
I love you Phil! You’re music means so much to me along with all of the other artists in the 70’s.
I would just point out this is Tony Banks' composition, as is most of their work.
Still a beautiful song, beautifully performed by true musicians.
Two geniuses doing what they do 👍👍
One genius and one man singing competently
Let's say the genius of chords and the genius of rhythm, it's better😎😊

Very very distinct piano sound from Mr Banks :)
This is fantastic!
Very Fantastic
Only Tony could have come up with those chord progressions.
He made a comment about how after writing it he felt he did a redo of “have yourself a merry little Christmas”. It was quite funny
Beautiful song!

when Tony banks wrote this song he thought he'd wrote to the tune of "have yourselves a merry little Christmas "
John Hughes actually Phil figured that out after the album was released
It wasn’t tony
