If you disagree with the term alpha male for whatever reason
then please watch the video in which I'm explaining HOW and WHY I'm using the term:

Piss people off is not an appropriate way to express oneself in English, this phrase implies an angry outlook coupled with poor education and understanding. It certainly lacks power, victims fail to express themselves adequately. Let's start again eh.....

    • @PersonalPower
      @PersonalPower  5 років тому +4

who defines what adequately? You're getting offended by profanity, you feel hurt because someone is not expressing themselves the way you would prefer? The "power of words" is not defined by you, its matter of perception. You perceive profane language as not strong and powerful other people perceive it differently. You are generalizing your social education and assume that it has to apply to everyone else, which is simply not the fact. I know cursing is seen as inappropriate in some countries, but where I come from it is not. You're judging me for my choice of words but you also wrote a comment that said body language is just movement that does not say anything about the person. You judge by word choice other people judge by looks and body language. In the end you are judging without knowing the person too.

I beg to differ on a couple of points .
One , on not looking around while walking ...
I work with men who are in sometimes dangerous occupations .
To appear masculine and in control , head up , shoulders square , eyes out , scan constantly... be aware and conscious of your surroundings .
    Check behind you discreetly.
Bad things come from behind .
Don’t be afraid of eye contact , but don’t maintain it ... look at someone , (like another male ) ... then look THROUGH them ... they are unimportant .
I have seen men completely back off a rowdy with a single glance ... cold , empty ... no compromise .... deadly .
Walk with confidence and purpose ... don’t allow others to close with you ... keep people at a distance .
Be ready to act or react at all times .
Locking on to a destination with tunnel vision is a recipe for disaster .
Situational awareness at all times .
Wear dark glasses so people can’t track your eye movement ... Everyone will believe you are looking at them , even when you aren’t .
Appear professional , calm , capable ... no matter what .
Two , when standing , do so with feet shoulder width apart , knees flexed slightly , so if you are bumped , or even shoved , you won’t lose your balance , and can recover quickly , keeping your feet instead of being knocked over .
Head up , eyes moving ...
We are trained to keep our hands in front of us , slightly above waist high ... perhaps clasped hand over fist ...
This allows you to bring them up to block a punch , reach out to grab , or access a weapon or communication device from a relaxed position .
It isn’t intimidating to civilians , but professionals recognize the stance immediately. .
Body language is key to a command presence .

Yes, you are right! These tips are mainly for areas with low crime rates, if we move to more dangerous areas we have to adjust accordingly! I should have mentioned it in the video.

      @RomeoWhiskey692 6 років тому +36

      MrAussieJules
Yessir, one of the problems we have when we train guys , is breaking a lifetime of bad training .
Most young guys have been raised by women , taught by women in school , and they take on many feminine characteristics unconsciously.
A mincing way of walking , or slouched and sloppy looking .
Tucked in and bent over , eyes down ... like they are afraid .
An effeminate way of talking , almost lisping .
Making everything they say sound like a question .
It all just screams “ Victim...”
We have to teach them ... don’t give choices , give orders .
      “ Go here , do that ... now .”
Take up space ... walk like you mean it .
Our company mostly hires ex-military or ex law enforcement, so they already know this stuff .
Fluttering their hands ... that’s so hard for some of them ... what to do with their hands ... and don’t keep checking your weapon ... it telegraphs to everyone where it is ...
If you are carrying concealed , don’t keep touching it , buy good holsters , trust it to do its job ... it’s not going to fall out .
As a funny aside , we are lucky to be living in an area where military, or military style sports clothing is popular , so it doesn’t stand out to wear comfortable clothing that works .
Good boots are a must .
No bright colors , of course .
No logos or whatever , to draw attention .
      Pockets for your gear .
Weapon , magazines , small tactical flashlight , folding knife , multi-tool ... ID holder ... along with all the usual wallet , phone , etc .
A small trauma kit , if you can fit it in ... a combat tourniquet at the very least .
Most of us have medium short hair ( because our employers complained about the crew-cuts or military patch ... and no shaved heads ) ...
We have all grown close clipped beards and mustaches .
It makes the civilians more comfortable. , I think .
When we went out in public , say with our old ladies , out to eat , we wanted to look nice , so we would dress “ down” ... polo or t-shirt , ( dark blue or black ) , khaki pants
      Or jeans and a black t-shirt ...
Boots ... baseball cap , dark glasses .
Our old ladies started calling it the “undress uniform “ ...
We realized by trying to blend in , we just stood out more .
We all looked alike anyway .
The other dead giveaway was when four or five of us would meet up to go somewhere , to attend a meeting or something , we would unconsciously fall into step and formation ...
This was brought home when we all walked into a conference room , and somebody said “ Great ... the stormtroopers are here ...”
I don’t think it was a Star Wars reference.... we shoot better than that .
My ex used to rag me about it all the time ... “ Quit marching ... walk like everybody else ...”
      Old habits die hard .
I don’t think we will ever blend in with the yuppies or the hipsters , with the whole earrings , plugs , skinny jeans , tats , scraggly beards and man-bun thing going on ...
We are still working on being quietly tactical , without looking tacti-cool ... or an assault team .
But nobody thinks we are a prissy bunch of metrosexuals, either .
Hell yes , give those momma’s boys to us ... we’ll fix ‘em .

Walking fast with good pasture and free hands makes you look important, you have important things to do. You have goals to reach. Walking slow just seems as you have no hurry, nothing to worry about, or it may be seen as you don't like were you are going to, like work or a class.

You are right, but I think this depends on perspective. Being fast can also be seen as insecure, unorganized and not being punctual. It always depends on the person who sees you. People will perceive you differently thats just how it is.

Whoever tries to articulate their bodies like an “alpha male” proves that they care about what others think of them which is conflicting the confidence required to be a respectable person, not someone with an egotistical label such as “alpha male”, as you no longer care about how people view you or your behavior and they respect you for it. It’s a big ego game that is situational. I’d rather just be happy where I am instead of seeking other people’s approval in such weird ways.

They always told me the rumors of me being too arrogant and thinking I’m the sh*t! Those of us who have been in dangerous careers know the value of scanning while walking. Plus, I almost always maintain eye contact until the other breaks it, if they do not I will smile and give a head nod. If I do break contact first it would be due to them not being a threat and looking towards one that could be. In law enforcement your initial impressions of power and readiness can immediately nullify resistance or even cause cohorts to back off from helping the problem child. That being said, this video indicates what comes natural to the warrior/alpha personality. I never cross my legs when sitting, might need to move quick. I always stand poised and confident as do my colleagues. Hands in pockets is just bad tactics. Walking with purpose and a slight swagger, plus acknowledging others, while keeping fluid is something developed over a lifetime of confident interactions and clear understanding of your surroundings. You are either an alpha or you are not. This always becomes exceptionally clear when the time arises.

This is all the illusion of confidence. I'm not the manliest person but I'm confident in myself. I do not wish to take up as much space to appear dominant, I rather share space because it's not mine to begin with. I embrace people because I have nothing to fear or reject. Honestly everybody has "alpha" traits. It's hilarious to think one person can be dominant in all environments. You can do that if you want but somebody like me will see through all that tough stuff cause the name of the game is survival, adapt to your surroundings. Only be tough when you have to be.

    • @PersonalPower
      @PersonalPower  5 років тому +1

Most ppl see through stuff like i talk about in this video. But if you are at rock bottom with zero confidence then this will help to give you this feeling "oh I'm doing something right". It doesn't even have to ve "right" its jus a small excercise to build confidence

My best advice is stop thinking about yourself and start paying attention to your surroundings, to your friends when they tell a story, to your group. Interacting and speaking and laughing and paying attention to other people is what will make you attractive. Not trying to be Ryan Gosling. No matter what you try to act like, if it doesn’t come from heart it won’t stick . Be yourself

Always careful with this kind of advice. Last thing I want to do is project the notion I think I'm a tough guy or am looking for trouble. I went to a party a couple of years ago where everyone was trying to be alpha. I felt like it could erupt in violence at any time, and it was fascinating to see how quickly every alpha was put in their place when called out by the others. Lucky for myself I could care less about looking alpha. I sat back and watched as others were humbled.

    • @PersonalPower

Too many people are getting in too deep in these how-to be alpha videos..
How about just being yourself? Walk how you like, sit in a way that's comfortable for you, look at others or don't..
Be comfortable with yourself and relax. You'll reach a state of composure that is both intimidating and charismatic at the same time.

    • @PersonalPower
      @PersonalPower  5 років тому

its easier to follow some how to video than actually owning up and being confident in who you are.
