When you take great ensemble dialogue and give it all to the “star,” the show is off-balance. And the supporting cast isn’t very strong. Best watch the originals.
@@cityhawk Yes...and I can't see why they did this when the British version raised the bar very high! It's surprising that the one playing Mr. Humphries ( John Inman), would partake in this....
@@willyboy6126 I don't know either. I don't know if John Inman ever stated why he took on the role in Australia. Part of the problem with the U.S. and Australian versions was that there were no attempts to make it their own. Both thought they could fly by on recycled material. Were they ever wrong. The best attempts I've seen when that transition was made was when they wrote for their culture (Three’s Company, The Office, Sanford and Son, and All in the Family). It's good to have the template, but if you don't make it your own, audiences will tune out.
Are You Being Served? In Australia/Down Under- S02E03 Our Figures Are Slipping. 9.4.24. I think I hate Australians on this showing...whet's goin' on???
I love that just give jokes to Humphries that were originally Lucas’.

They just didn’t have the chemistry of the original series. But I’m sure they tried their best.
U CAN'T BEAT THE ORIGINAL. BC IT'S WAS PURE GOLD...

This is the original.
@@fjccommishNo, it’s not. The UK is the original and the gold standard.
