In Dead Cells you can be killed by one enemy attack. Dead Cells is not about how you manage the damage you receive, but about how you don’t take damage at all.
later on, at higher difficulties, you can reach that point in Trinity Fusion as well - but in a normal playthrough to 'beat the story', you usually won't see it.
@@Alzorath Of these types of games, I really liked Hades. There is a good story, there is a rouge like element, everything works harmoniously together. I tried many different games, I would also like to mention Noita. With all my experience in computer games, which is about 30 years, I found Dead Cells to be a very punishing game, very dependent on randomness. It's still a good game, but the way it's built is questionable to say the least. Dead Cells is not a good example for comparison. It is worth taking several similar games, Astral Ascent, for example, from recent ones. This will expand your audience too. And it will help your audience become familiar with more games. I liked your video. I hope you liked my notes about it.
Clearly an evolution. Take a solid design approach and add unique mechanics and gameplay combat and traversal that feel fantastic. In top of a solid story and nice modern platforming graphics. Such a unique gem that deserves more love than it’s gotten
Have you tried Devil Slayer Raksasi? Its a top down action roguelite with infinite replayability. At first glance it doesn't look like much but the combat is very responsive, the bosses are engaging and customization is tons of fun. Theres also a handful of playable characters. Everytime I recommend it people say "looks like a flash game" or "cash grab" but its a great game.
It feels slower than DC, but in a good way (for me). DC felt too reactive, kill and die within seconds. This game, probably being more story focused, feels slower and I think I can play it for longer to enjoy the story.
Really good review. I have been really enjoying the combat in this game. Its a bit slower and more methodical than dead cells. You can still get into that flow state though. Good game

Haven't tried it yet, but added it to my wishlist to try out later
Nice channel, i like it. Came here by diablo 2 res search, and enjoying other content.
thanks :) - I have a couple more d2 videos in the works, but am definitely going to focus mostly on the reviews now.

for the initial story section, it definitely feels more measured (the bosses can get a bit chaotic though)
