I'm kind of obsessed with the American Scrappers on youtube - The scrap and pallet man channel is so relaxing! I keep all my wire and non ferris - free money!
Nice one. I did a scrap metal run and made similar last year. Well worth it. Copper is at an all time high 👍🏼. If you have the space / patience to accumulate scrap metal it’s well worth doing rather than taking to the tip 👍🏼👍🏼
Haha I like the way the guy picks up two batteries, one in each hand and you pick up one battery with two hands and you look like you was struggling! ☺️
I store my scrap away and weigh it in once a year normally in the summer when sales are slower, weighed in may this year due to the high prices. I was in a car park the other day and a car battery was just left there, so i had that for the hoard. It all mounts up definitely those power cords from all the duff electricals we buy.
Anybody selling scrap in the UK that doesn't come from your own house or vehicle needs a dealers licence as well as a waste carriers license, they do check, they do prosecute and the fines are huge.
How can they prove that the item came from your house, or the street? If you see some copper pipe, or metal shelving or whatever dumped in the street and pick it up, how would they know it wasn't your own metal? That would be good for the environment, if you recycle something that was dumped in the street. It seems unless you're selling industrial amounts of scrap on a regular basis, they would never be able to prove whether or not the metal had come from your own house.
@@Andygb78 It won't be them proving it didn't, it will be you being asked to prove it did, and as for government bureaucrats with the ability to raise fines being reasonable or fair -' good luck with that one.
@@doctordoodle-do9933 Realistically they can't check everyone. If you come in with a couple of car batteries, for example, like Nic did in the video, they aren't going to ask for the receipt to prove you owned it, before they agree to scrap it. You could just say I'd stored it for a few years, while waiting till I'd accumulated enough scrap to justify a trip to the merchants and no longer have the receipt. Or I bought the car that had the battery in second hand, so I didn't get a receipt.
It's alot of work but if you strip the copper wire it's worth10-15 times as much.We save all our scrap at work and save it for christmas it pays for a good sit in breakfast and a pint or 2.
I had two car boot full of copper wire from an office block someone was stripping and I asked if I could have it they said sure just by me a beer lol ended up with more than £500 😁
Have a guy 3 miles from me collects scrap steel, tin, u name it he'll take it & scraps it when he gets a pile ! Lord knows how many Thousands he's made in 30 years ! Don't wanna fool with it, take it to Jonny , he will ! 😂👍
Hey Nic, I noticed you have a lot of stuff that could have been separated a bit better to make extra money. I've got a channel about scrap metal, and I've got some videos that will help you on your next run. are you interested in a link?
You do know you need a scrap license and a waste carriers license its a 5000 pound fine and they crush your car or van just watched it happen to someone
Hello. This isn't anything to do with scrap .In your last vlog you mentioned Harry Styles drummer, Her name is Sarah Jones. Know the mum and Dad. All of us from Herefordshire.

Thubprint is another good one based in Canada. He started out dumpster diving for deposit back bottles etc and has just gone further and further
@@neilo3476 yeah I used to really enjoy watching Thub pounding the freezing streets of Canada looking for bottles, again strangely relaxing😁
@@stevehitchman9591 I said the same to him. It was somewhat cathartic to hear the crunch of the boots and squishing of the bottles
Ferrous. Not ferris just so you know.

I’m always gathering up power cords and the odd spot of copper and brass when on my travels.. It’s free money 🙌🏻

Every little helps, most Scrappies pay £10 per car battery on average

Cleanest scrap yard I have ever seen

thanks Nic... have a great night
Great video,Nic,Andrea. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️💚🥰🤗
Good job
Another lesson learned. The amount of cables I've binned thinking they were worthless...kicking myself here.
This is the one I always go to just round the corner from me .. Nice chaps
I wouldn’t use them ,all the prices are far to low

With all my scrap batteries I cut off the lead nodes and save them up for a lead weigh in the weight soon adds up

There are machines you can buy that strip wires automatically. They don't cost much.
Have u ever done this since what was the outcome?
Nice job, Nic
Well done love watching your videos
I’ve always wondered how that worked. Thanks!
Hmm wonder what the value of lead is. Got a bucket full of it (somewhere) from metal detecting.
Your first duty to check scale. Is scale is tempered? Hello I m Ali from Ali scrap dealer Rawalpindi Pakistan.
Why when you see little brass ornaments at the boot sale and charity shops for under 50p you snap it up and scrap it
if you shop about you'll get better prices than that, £1 for Ali over £2 for cable and upto 60p for batteries
I need copper scrap do you have ?? Or any scrap yard numbers?
Nic's scrap metal collections! Nice! When you getting the transit van? 🤔
...... and the out of tune Trumpet.
Not a bad little weigh in prices were a bit crap tho.
Nice video good ❤❤🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰👍
Do you need a metal carriers license ?
I had two car boot full of copper wire from an office block someone was stripping and I asked if I could have it they said sure just by me a beer lol ended up with more than £500 😁
Great vid but you could do with tidying up your front garden !
Prices are a bit low 😕

Where i live if you left your car boot open and unattended, it would be emptied in seconds. 😄😄
Had guessed at approximately £100 after you said 50. 50 seemed too cheap and 100 was more realistic. Wasn’t far off.
New sub ! Liked 🙏❤️😀✌️
right near my house lol
They underpaid on the wire.. it should be £2 a kilo. Ran some in a couple of weeks ago (50kg) and got £100 ....
Yes it was a little while back the price is like stock markets it varies day to day only got £1.60 k the other day

Do you require a carriers/dealers licence in the UK unless it's from your home?
I'd be finding another yard to use pal they had your pants clean down on them prices fella batterys are 600 a ton for fun and white is at 220 a k
Do you have scrap?? I will pay more
Not bad for free wow
Nice video good 👍🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰
Really low prices ,batteries ,cables ,all to low . It’s worth calling the scrap yard for the prices as you can lose big money
You do know you need a scrap license and a waste carriers license its a 5000 pound fine and they crush your car or van just watched it happen to someone
copper has maintained it's value , it is the currency losing value
That’s inflation for you…. The £1 worth less every day.
Hi Do you have any stickers for me
I've got a sticker for you

Do they give you cash? I ask because the I read that the UK in Sept is getting rid of the 20 and 50 pound notes.
