It seems to me that the MMA community only really likes shittalkers when they are anglo (american, british, irish, australian...) but they tend to underestimate foreign speaking fighters. I think one of the most impressive things is how fast he progressed with his English. The dude is tri-lingual. And in completely unique languages. One language(Georgian) is a semitic language. The other(Spanish) is a Latin language. And the third(English) is a mixture of Latin and Germanic. And he's a world class MMA Fighter. Just incredible.
One year ago in a spannish show, he says he was working hard on his English lessons, becouse as a UFC worker is his job connect with all the UFC fans around the world.
Georgian is a Kartvelian language, which is more different and harder to learn than any of those languages.

Been a fan of Topuria for a long long time since he first started in the UFC. Huge fan of Volk as well and I was rooting for him in this fight. I thought after the first rd Volk would be able to survive the power, but Ilia stalked him till he found the kill shot 😮 This fight will go down in the history books for sure!!
The fact that this guy has taken a head kick to the head , but recovered and was able to get ko in a later round is crazy, he has that dawg in him.

I was Volk, all the way, all fight week, even day of. First round, I saw just how relaxed Topuria was. About 30 seconds into the 2nd round, I looked at my buddy I was watching with, and I said, "Bro, I hate to say this... but I just had a vision of Volk getting KO'd. I think Ilia is gonna put him out." 2 minutes late, Volk was asleep.

How can you not love a guy who is as confident as you can possibly be in oneself. He tells you exactly whats going to happen because of the sheer confidence in the abilities he has. Thats the exact same reason Conor McGregor became the biggest star in MMA history by a mile. Conor is a wild man whos laser focus he once had in MMA, went elsewhere, to the character he became when on the journey. Now Conor is always playing a character even on his yacht when the cameras show up. If Topuria can stay with the laser focus he could be the best ever. Hes a master in the standup imo. Probably the best on the feet right now in the UFC. The most dangerous guy and the most confident guy at the same time. Hes going to be so hard to beat.

I always knew Ilia would knock out Volk because Ilia is good at closing the distance and fight inside the pocket while Volk keeps his distance and circles around we all seen it when Ilia fought Herbert who is heavier and taller than Volk you DON’T want to circle around or back away when your fighting someone who knows how to cut off the cage and has power
And I always knew that we need food to survive.
You also forgetting Volk backs up with his Chin always in the air.

Topuria is so fast and crisp, it's mind bending..That split second frame that set up the KO was picture perfect..I thought Volk would try and grapple to take some of the speed and power out of the equation. But that is easier to say than to do..I've rewatched Topuria fights over the last few years more than any other fighter in the UFC..The guy is technical and vicious..
