I made these for my brother who is a choke risk. I used the oil and they were fluffy enough for him to eat. He hasn't eaten a cookie in 10 years. FYI He is down syndrome and his excitement is beyond belief!!! I cannot thank you enough for this recipe! You changed a life!! ❤👍
Thank you for showing the differences in ingredients! I appreciated how much time/effort goes into making 4 different batches of cookies just to illustrate a point!! Thank you!! Hi from Canada!
My kids loved cake box cookies. My son's friends would bring me cake mix and chocolate chips in the middle of the night and beg me to make them. They freeze really well and hold up nicely.
Cake mix cookies are always fast and fun! Brownie mix works even better. Roll the dough in powdered sugar and bake for a crinkle cookie treat. Sooo good
I love your recipes @ Preppy Kitchen.. I learn a lot from you. You explain things in clear detail. I just wished you left the ingredients down below for us. Thank you!!!
I love that you experimented AND showed us how they all look like!! So educational and don't see many (or any) other youtube bakers have done this for viewers. Love your channel!!
I love that I can hear your kids in the background. Makes it feel like I’m at home with you baking. Maybe it just the parent instinct in me. I can hear the children while getting work done. This should be a mood/vibe lol
This is amazing... i tried... and i mixed 2 diff cake mix to get double favoured... and did it without eggs... still came out amazing!!! Thanks for the inspiration!!!
Made them and..delicious 😋. I used vanilla extract in them as well as my butter a little cooler than almost melted and didn’t refrigerate the dough. They came out so good 😊
I had a yellow cake mix and I made it with the melted butter. OMG. I love these. I frosted them with a simple buttercream frosting that I had to make PINK and then put a few sprinkles on them for cuteness. What an absolutely simple recipe. They are delicious before frosting. I did add about 2 tsp of my homemade vanilla extract. Thanks and Happy New Year.
I found a recipe years ago on the side of a Betty Crocker box! I find I can make it with any brand, but different types of cake mixes require playing around with butter amounts. 1 box of Betty Crocker Red Velvet cake mix 2 eggs 6 tbsp melted butter Roll dough balls in powdered sugar, and bake at 350 8-10 min!! They form the PRETTIEST crackle top and are soft bake! Y’all they’re impossible to mess up and a true crowd-pleaser.
Thank you for posting this! It's good to see things to be made quickly sometimes. A note about silpat: it is crucial that when washing them there is no trace of soap left on them. I have had the taste of soap permeate cookies and chicken when my dishwasher of the day vs failed to rinse the silpat well enough. I wash in soapy water as hot as I can stand it, then scrub down with a paste of baking soda and water. After rinsed again, there is no trace of soap. A bit of work, but worth it not having to shovel cookies into the trash. Anyway, great video! Looking forward to the next.
Thank you for the different ways to make cookies. Very helpful. The store has a sale on cake mix for $.50. Of course, had to try. The sugar cookie was delicious. Trying the chocolate next. Yay! To you for sharing this video.
John I've been making my cookies like these for years using cake mix same amount of ingredients, I mostly use the oil and sometimes I'll use butter. I make these chocolate ones that my friends can't believe how good they taste and how it's cookies made from a cake mix. Your homemade recipe one look really good!! 🙂
I just made some with chocolate chips. I usually stir them and use oil but this time I used a stand mixer and the butter. It really made a difference so thank you
I bought one of the cookie mats just now Great niece is with us since school is out. This looks like something she can do with me watching. Thank you for this.
Mr Kitchen, It is soon 2 years since your first video upload. I would love to see a full week of uploads making "Birthday Everything"!!! aka vanilla and funfetti sprinkles, some requests: - Birthday Muffin - Birthday Tres Leches Cake - Birthday Blondies - Birthday Waffles - Birthday Woopies - Birthday French Toast - Birthday Madeleines
They look wonderful! I used to make a version of this at the restaurant only with cream cheese, scooped with an ice cream scoop 6 to a sheet, frosted with pink cream cheese frosting. I've got a few of those sprinkles...think I'll make your first version. I'll bet my grandkids would love them!
This is a really interesting example of how one ingredient can change the final product! Very informative. I'm baking the cake mix w/ vegetable oil because I am LAZY
Made some with oil and yellow cake mix, a dash of lemon extract, just to use up some mix. They were so good that today I'm putting almond extract with flaked coconut. Can't believe "cake mix" is on my shopping list.
Thank You For Making 4 Versions !!! I'm going to try your pick ( 1/2 sugar 1/2 brown sugar . I told my son about theses cookies & he can't wait to try them !!!
Thanks for your delicious recipes & videos! My husband & I have gained 40 lbs total since January because of your delicious cakes, pies & cookies‼️Oh well/we only live once!
I love you recipes. And I am a kid but I made all you recipes and my brother said i make the best cookie 🍪 dough bites ever now it is he’s favorite desert ☺️
You are too funny!!😊❤ I prefer homemade and I am going to try your recipes. Love your kitchen and baking accessories. Thank you for this video and all of your videos.💝💖🙂
Wow!!! I will definitely try this one too.. I tried the Valentine cookies twice already the stripes version and all pink version and my nieces loved them so much.. In fact, my 9 year old niece is selling them in school I used different shapes and her classmates love them so much, sold out always for 2 days 😍😍😍😍 and I baked another batch last night.. Thank you so much for sharing your recipes. I am sharing your videos to my baker friend too.
I love how you showed the 4 different types of cookies! it'd be cool to see you make a video comparing small changes to a basic chocolate chip cookie recipe and seeing the difference and/or finding the perfect cookie for all different preferences :o
I prefer the butter over the oil. All kinds of videos for these are popping up like it's something new. I have been making cookies both from scratch and using cake mix for decades! :-)
I’ve been baking for about six months and tbh in these videos I’ve seen all the stuff I’ve been doing wrong 😑. Thank you 😊 so much. Can you do a homemade cookie recipe with vegetable oil? I think my portions are off and I don’t always have unsalted butter.
Awesome! I have a great appreciation that you have a from scratch version as well since cake mix is vastly different in Germany. Thanks for the recipe(s). I will be trying these out! I have a chocolate drip cake with sprinkles on my channel this week.
I have funfetti cake mix and they never have the frosting we like so TODAY, we will turn this into cookies 🍪 My 2yr old loves baking so I try to make something creative over the weekends for her.
You're so funny. I love watching your videos because you can see how much fun you have with your baking. I may have to try this in the future. Will definitely watch your double choco chip cookie vid as well. Have a good one! ☺
Thank you I appreciate you showing me that now I know how to do that I've been wondering so this way you just don't have the liquid part of the cake mix
One bag of cake mix 2 eggs 1/3 of a cup of butter or 1/3 cup of vegetable oil (mix) Add chocolate chips or nuts or sprinkles etc... Then put them in the oven 350F/177C
Great demonstration with all the things that could happen by just changing one thing .. It's amazing ! I think it would be a good idea to pre-mix all the dry ingredients and keep them in a sealed bag.. like your own home made cake mix.. then when the mood strikes it's just as easy as pulling a store bought box of cake mix off the shelf .. : ]
I tried the regular boxed cake mix cookies to me they are really good they are really easy to make also I didn't sift it and I used 1/3 a cup of butter but mine seemed to be too thick so I added a little bit of water but over all it was good.
The comparison cookies are very interesting, thank you for doing those. I’m a new subbie and really enjoy your cakes and bakes! I spent this morning making Thumb Print Jam Cookies with my 3yr old grandson, and he loved them!
Love ur recipes. Tried a few already. The one I did with the Christmas tree was the best and everyone loved it. Thanks

I just LOVE that you incorporate the metric system!!!! Makes it way more fun to bake along!!
Exactly, I don’t have to look up any conversions
Thank you for showing the differences in ingredients! I appreciated how much time/effort goes into making 4 different batches of cookies just to illustrate a point!! Thank you!!
Hi from Canada!
Does it taste good?
My kids loved cake box cookies. My son's friends would bring me cake mix and chocolate chips in the middle of the night and beg me to make them.
They freeze really well and hold up nicely.
Looks like you're a master chef at that. How many eggs and oil u add please
@@ihsanjadayel155 I used whatever the box called for, but substituted butter for oil.
Nice! I need to try this!
Do u use sponge mix or cake mix
Lauren Anderson just regular cake mix
Cake mix cookies are always fast and fun! Brownie mix works even better. Roll the dough in powdered sugar and bake for a crinkle cookie treat. Sooo good
I need to try this thanks girl!

Do you know if it really matters if the butter is salted or not?
Delicious
OMG 😱 I loved that you showed us the difference between the ingredients
So melted butter shapes the cookies better than oil! Thank you; now I know better!
I never would have thought 1 ingredient would make such a substantial difference! They all look so good! I'll take one of each, please. 😂
