Bought a mod1 helmet and had the same issue with the velcro, ripped a hole in my clava. Crashed- had to get another one and ig they realized it was a problem and put the soft side of the velcro on the inside of the helmet, good that they changed that
mod 1 pro you can remove the earmuffs without removing the liner. the only reason i got the mod 1 pro! they should make the removeable ear covers on both.
Yeah, that's the one I'm gonna get. I wanted to get the smith method mips but I have oakley flight path goggles so it's probably best to stick with oakley
I wanted to get the Mod1 Pro because of the removeable ear muffs but the Pro is noticeably heavier than the regular Mod1. Pretty disappointing if you like super lightweight helmets.
@@severity21 yes. I kind of regret being cheap, the pro looks better. Its slightly heavier but this one is sooooo light I’m sure a bit weight more is no issue
Thank you, your video really helped me out, there’s literally nothing about this helmet online i could find
@@michael204 thanks dawg I noticed the same thing so wanted to help out the other homies
I didn't even realize the boa height adjustment, thanks bro
@@kylesharbrough1817 happy to help brother have a good season!
Thank you so much for mentioning the velcro removal!
Just saved me buying a new helmet, thank you!
@@markcampo333 mine fits way better after this too, glad to help
Great information for anyone who owns an oakley helmet! i wonder why they mention anything about the 3 different attachment points for the boa.

Does removing the lining take the cushioning out when you crash?
@@mrpotiontv2249 I don’t believe it provides substantial cushioning but maybe I’m wrong
Thanks man, just bought the Mod1 helm for this season. What kind of goggles are you wearing?

would you recommend i get the mod 1 pro instead of the regular mod 1 mips for riding without ear pads?
@@severity21 yes. I kind of regret being cheap, the pro looks better. Its slightly heavier but this one is sooooo light I’m sure a bit weight more is no issue
@ thanks bro, gonna cop the pro 🙌
Do you recommand removing the ear pads from the refular mod 1 no mips ?
@@LoukOuellet not familiar with that one sorry!
Did you end up removing the ear pads? I am not sure if I should or not
I finally found some information about the helmet, how it looks without the strap, thank you! btw, what kind of mask are you wearing?
@@TobiasProkop the mask brand is Airhole!
Can I remove the earmuff without the mips go away?
@@addypane2133 yes it does not affect mips component
can you give me your link of the helmet
This is great thank you, by any chance is there a pocket in the ear flaps to slide one of the outdoor tech chips into?
Not on the basic Mod1, possibly on pro or mod3
