GCSE 2019 Biology Paper 1 - part 2

Join me as we walkthrough the 2019 AQA Biology Paper 1 together. I will show you exam techniques and explain what the examiner is looking for. I have divided the video into 3 parts (this is part 2) to make it more manageable as each section can be quite intense. I take the answers up to the highest level!
The give you an idea of how you are getting on, the grade boundaries for this 2019 paper were:-
69% and above Level 9
63% and above Level 8
57% and above Level 7
48% and above Level 6
40% and above Level 5
32% and above Level 4
28% and above Level 3

Can you draw the line of best fit from the origin? Also I love your vids!!!

If rate is on the y axis then this is usually ok, as long as it looks ok/is part of the natural trend/shape. Otherwise, if anything other than rate on the y axis just stick to doing a straight line or curve through just your plotted points!!

this was amazing! but why are the grade boundaries so low I feel like every other test a 9 is 85% and above and a 4 is 40% an above

I know! They just make the tests so challenging! Perhaps they will make tests slightly easier and raise the boundaries in the years to come? We will have to wait and see. Since 2018 reform, exams are definitely more challenging.

In the national cohort they will generally make sure there are similar number of students getting each grades compared to the year before so will alter the boundaries according to the normal distribution.

I know right, my first biology test I had in year 10 in october I got a 9 with 75%

Hi! 2020 papers need to be kept secure from the public. I am not sure when the examboards will release them (I need to check) but I can't breach security. Us teachers need some secure material to use for Mock Exams etc so it's very important to keep them safe 😊
