    Amazing Sareesh.. Thank you.. I was searching for cinematographers who use the F55. Just a fanboy thing.
    Thin red line and Braveheart are my inspirations. Your essay gave me a whole new perspective for watching them again.

    Could you please analyze cinematography dealing with one movie at a time? Like breaking down the cinematography of Breaking Bad in detail and so on..

    Your channel is one of the most interesting about film in the technical aspect
    Oh and I know this is a long shot but, since your videos can get pretty technical, are you thinking about making a video for beginners, so they can catch up on some technical but widely used terms ?
    And thanks a lot for this video !

    While I like the sudden brutal intensity of the battle scenes in Hacksaw Ridge, there is something about the landscape that doesn't seem right. The sense of scale and the lay of the land seems off, like it is shot on a set. It made me curious so I looked up the historic photos and for example the rock wall the soldiers scale is nothing like in the movie, which looks like it was shot in an old rock quarry. Those battlefield scenes from The Thin Red Line show it done right, the landscape is real and it flows. This is an important detail for a viewer who spends a lot of time outdoors.

      Keep in mind, Gibson was working under a really tight schedule. He had half the time and budget he had on Braveheart.

    Nice video. Why did he shoot only pilot episode of breaking bad?

    • @JustinZarian
      @JustinZarian 6 років тому +1

      They usually shoot the pilots before they get a full series order, so I assume Toll had moved on to another project when the series was picked up. That's when Michael Slovis was brought on and he shot everything afterwards.

      Having a camera waiting at the bottom for the guy that Hanks throws out a building to then show him hitting at the bottom was crass film making.
