As a higher end pc gamer, I don’t use ultra / extreme settings anyhow as the performance hit for visual quality (30-50% less fps for a slightly better image) for me isn’t worth it. I’ve tried a few higher end AAA titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy and other titles and seen a very small benefit to visuals for more stuttery, high latency and less enjoyable game. I prefer higher fps and high settings over lower fps and extreme graphics.
agree on your pov. i have same card and ryzen 5600x i play all games in medium setting graphic and enable FSR depending on how high demanding the game is performance/balance
Just bought a used one for my kids gaming machine. They use Steam Link and Family Sharing to play my library on the front TV - 1080p. Should be plenty capable for anything they're likely to play (controller games only). Thanks for putting this review together!
I am a little surprised by the low video memory warning, as when I played with my 3070 (which also has 8gb) on 1440p ultra I never got any of those warnings, although it has been a while and I haven't really played it since early 2023, so some stuff might have changed.
8 GB VRAM in CP77 is a problem for long sessions. I'm running a 6600 at mid setting, 1080p upscaled to 4K. After about 2 hours of game time looking at the inventory and going back to the game world causes massive lags for about 5 to 10 seconds and the only solution is to restart the game. It occurs much faster at higher texture settings.
yes, but the 6600 XT is tight as fuck compared to the 6600 it has really good 1% lows, the minimums have a far larger disparity than the averages do between those cards, so the XT would be an even smoother ride, i think the price disparity doesn't matter all that crazy much anyway, i think it's reasonably swings and roundabouts depending on what your local prices are, here in the netherlands they are awfully close as for the 6700 non XT, i would still find that a harder decision at that price point, as they're now trying to upsell me a 12GB card with the 6700XT and i like my texture memory :D
The RX 6700 non XT tends to be priced a bit higher than it ought to unless you really need that 2 gb extra vram over the 6650 xt for productivity and can't strech to a 6700 xt.
@@olnnn IDK, the 6700 non-XT has been 35-50$ lower than the 6700 XT. I don't like the 6650XT it consumes the same power as the 6700 XT for performance around the 6700 non-XT and less VRAM than both.
@@badass6300 For the same price the 6700 > 6650 xt of course but unfortunately the 6700 getting harder to find and new it costs $30+ or often more than the 6650 xt in the US and where I live in europe it's like $100 more so less worth the extra cost and barely costs any less than a 6700 xt.
I still won't upgrade until more games utilize the DX12_2 features like alan wake 2 did. Because this is the future of games and not the dx12_1 or dx11, so the performance in alan wake 2 should give you an approximation, for example the GTX 1080/RX 5700xt performs worst than rtx 2060/rx 6600
and avatars frontiers of pandora, fully utilize ray tracing even on low settings. Makes even mid end gpu like 4070 and 7800xt run in sub 60fps at 1080p on ultra.

I can't really decide between this GPU or a 7600, 7600 is less efficient by what i saw, but it has AI Cores that the 6600 series don't have and could be very useful in the future (cheapest 6600XT is 190 and 7600 is 288 USD, in my country)
The Rx 6600 xt in my country costs arround 230$ which is the cheapest new gpu you can buy here. rx 6700 xt costs 320$ is it worth the price increase ? bare in mind i would have to sacrifice buying a FHD monitor instead of a 2k monitor if i did go with rx 6700 xt. please help me make a decision here. either a 6600 xt with a 2k monitor o a 6700 xt with a 1080p monitor?
Your use case matters, the 6600 XT is a better bang for the buck and is a great 1080/1440p card, but the 6700 XT also delivers a very noticeable jump over the 6600 XT. What CPU do you have?

BAD decision at this point. A year ago a 6600 or 6600 XT may have been a good decision but with so much AI showing up in software including the OS, not so much. You need AI processing in either the CPU or GPU now, if you want to get the features in Windows or different software. So sticking with AMD a move up to the 7600 is a much better choice. And for those who say you don't need AI, don't say you weren't warned.
Your whole argument is highly irrelevant unless you’re utilizing Stable Diffusion which favors Nvidia GPUs anyway. Most of the people coming to this video are aiming for gaming performance. Almost no one cares about AI performance.
i'm still on an rx480 i've been looking at the 6650xt instead recently because it delivers about 20% more performance compared to the 6600xt and i think it's worth the bigger jump from what i have now at no real price premium the 6600XT goes for about 220 here, the 6650XT ~270, adding 20% to 220, would end up with 264, so it's basically a 1:1 differential "curve" in price:performance between the 2 where i live if only i could justify couging up for a 6700 so i could have 12 gigs or vram though, which would be nice for blender

Just fyi? The 5700xt will not be able to run their new frame generation but the 6600xt will.
I got an Amazon Warehouse RX 6650XT on Black Friday new in box (minus some decal) 229.79 United States Dollars (which is dirt cheap in Britain).

How costs
I am a little surprised by the low video memory warning, as when I played with my 3070 (which also has 8gb) on 1440p ultra I never got any of those warnings, although it has been a while and I haven't really played it since early 2023, so some stuff might have changed.
I noticed that AMD GPUs tend to use more VRAM. The 8 GB RTX 2070 for example doesn't have that issue either.

Using mine on PCI gen 3 with Ryzen 5000 12-core and 3600MHz dual-rank kit, it has less problems after replacing the 3600 for some reason...
Im almost sad I didnt buy 6600XT. Went with 6700XT -Its better alight and I love it , but for the performace/money best buy ? Its 6600XT no doubt ! 👍

Personally, at that point I'd go for the 5700 XT. Costs the same as the RX 6600 on the used market and performs much better. Video coming soon.

6650 xt is not 20% faster than the 6600 xt, i think you are mistaking the 6600 for the 6600 xt
If you're not scared of buying used, I'd definitely look into the RX 6700 XT. You can find them on eBay for ~$250.
6650XT is a great card. Just got one.
I have the 6600xt, 6650xt and a 6700xt, if you can wait grab the 6700xt because the vram is worth it.
