I live in northern CA , I over seeded my son's lawn a few days ago, I think I might have waited to long, the weather is perfect but the leaves are falling and covering the seeds.
First week in October 3rd after grubs damage here in illinois. I scalp ,detached seed ryegrass and fert I water 12days straight 3-4x. 10mins per with the mini frost and warm up the grass is loving it. Might kill of and go tall fescue next year.
Thanks for this update in particular. I live in the StL also. Through a combination of circumstances I didn’t get my grass seed down until 10 days ago. I brought in several yards of sand and soil to fill low spots and smooth out the lawn. The problem was, I couldn’t get that project done until 2 weeks ago. So then put down seed and starter fertilizer. I used a tall fescue combination of super turf 1 and bonfire to try and mow a bit shorter and manage fungal disease before. Glad to see the temps warming up. Hearing you say my over-seed project may just squeeze under the deadline is a relief. Thanks so much for all of your content.
After first frost is where the people with good grass shine until winter dormancy. All the crabgrass dies and we have the only green in November. 4-4.5lbs of N, I’m just over 1lb for the year🤣.
Just starting to switch to liquid 20-20-30 fertilizer for the 1st time. We live in Saint Louis area, Just detached the yard on Saturday. For the first time, our home is 3 years old.. was going to seed and Milorganite I use all Jonathan Green products. The seed I use is black beauty ultra. Was thinking going granular and liquid … I was also going to use tenacity because I just I just thatched last night
I’m in Springfield a little south of you and put a light overseed down today and I hope I’m not too late. Lawn is established so I’m not super worried but I should have done it sooner

Those are some excellent seed choices! You should be golden on that grow in.

How often should you be fertilizing after seeding?
@@fargnbastage I like to apply a quarter pound of N every two weeks up until dormancy.
Yeah but what does it look like in February?!
LOL
Enjoyed the video. Are you using the first pressure setting on your FZ Typhoon with the Lesco 1.5gpm blue nozzle?
