Now Frollo was one of the _most_ despicable Disney villains ever. But Geoff as Frollo? Hear me out lmao
NO! I AINT GONNA HEAR YOU OUT well ok maybe i will
He'd make a very good villain especially one as dark as Frollo. He needs to do some Disney villains. Wow, oh wow. His voice wants to make me orgasm. Lol, I looooooooooove his voice no matter th range
Lol I was thinking the same thing!! 😂
Esmeralda is an idiot. That’s all I’m gunna say lol.
Sometimes the best actors are the opposite of the character they portray. Although geoff would freak me out for real if he did his subwoofer Halloween voice if i knocked at his door.
FINALLY, I have found the reaction that I need to Geoff's "What?" lol
Yes Geoff and Kathy have a little boy. There is a lovely video showing the lengths they went to, to have him. Geoff has recently done an interview in which he explains that whoever comes up with the concept, then does everything except the final mix. So it would all have been Layne, apart from the actual singing.
I just watched your Voiceplay ACA Villains reaction of more than a year ago and you mentioned there that you would like to see a full version with a good base - specifically Geoff!!
And here we are 😉🤯. You got your wish!
Worth the wait right?!
Nice reaction 🤘🕊
Yeah, this is probably my second favorite Disney villain song and I've loved all the covers by bass and/or acapella groups, but this is by far my favorite. Geoff has no business making a bastard like Frollo sound so damn sexy.
“The reason I sound like Bob Ross…” 😂 My husband wondered why I suddenly barked out laughter sitting alone in the kitchen. Love your reaction and of course the song makes me crazy it’s so beyond good.
Are you okay Dave? This one looks like it really melted your brain. VP elevates anything they touch!
dangit i should've warned you to bring a cross and the bible when reacting
People keep saying J. None "left" Voiceplay. No, he didn't. He's every inch still a part of it. He's just on sabbatical. I love having Cesar AND J. None together!
He did leave as an official member
@@thisismetoday7423 Well, with all due respect, I don't believe that. Even if he SAID that, I wouldn't believe it. Because, in essence his presence is still there in the feel of the group. Not everyone can be part of something so special, that even when he's physically not there, his musical spirit is. Plus, he's in so many songs with them, he can't really be considered a "guest." But, that's just my opinion. Totally okay if others disagree.
Cesar and J.None harmonize so well together.
@@thisismetoday7423He said when he left that it wasn't goodbye. He has every intention to come back when he is done with the military.
Dave having the vapours has made my day! They killed this and you've still got Geoff's brilliant solo Halloween song to come.
And that rocked as well!
Oh Dave, no one does stank face better than you! This song makes all of us do the same😵💫
The stank face has intensified throughout the bass
Hellfire, but voices of angels. This is why they're my #1 group of all time. Kathy and Ed Boyer are definitely members of the group too.
You have made voiceplay(mostly geoff) canon and lore ❤😂
With Tony being drafted into the video, that made four generations of Voiceplay baritone there - Layne, Tony, J and Cesar!
You have a tough job, not waking your kids. I have a loud voice but no kids, so I only have to worry about my next door neighbors hearing screams and calling police!
Ah, cool! I didn't know it was Tony!
Tony was the other "priest?" That's awesome!
@@DravenGal Voiced by Eli. Usually when they have some mystery person who only has a speaking role, the recorded voice is Eli. I don't know why. Maybe because he's good at it? But yeah. If you're watching a Voiceplay Video and someone comes in with only a speaking role and you can't see the face, the voice is probably Eli. It usually is.
@@ForeverDegenerate Yeah, I wondered about that.
The deodorant had me laugh so hard... 🤣 Great reaction as always!!
5:30 Geoff does have a kid, a baby I think, although they may be more of a toddler at this point, the daddy sang bass cover was a few years ago
The pure fear in your eyes when Geoff showed us his fire😂. I had the exact same reaction😅.
The original voice actor for Frollo. Tony Jay, did the singing voice as well. Not only did Geoff kill the lead vocals here, but those arpeggios he does behind J.'s verse killed me again. They all did a great job, including Eli voicing the guard..
Imma throw up! Best reaction statement ever! This rendition was stupendously amazing!
a minute and 40 seconds before the headphones come off. You know this is good.
У меня просто нет слов. Это.. Потрясающе. Невероятно. Богически. Шикарно. Огнище. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
General Sun Tzu once said, "Keep your friends close and your deodorant closer."
Facts 😂😂
There will one day be a voiceplay video that literally sends Dave to the hospital and he'll post it from his hospital room and we'll see live on camera him falling over dead in his chair. I love it.
Dave your reactions are always the greatest! I love how during Geoff's final belt you just subtly put that deodorant back up to your face for a second, because yes.....I totally agree. 🤣
That would be a yes - they have a young boy. The guard is Tony Wakim.
Tony Jay did do his own singing for Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Dave. Dave, Dave, Dave.... I am SO glad I had listened to this song before I watched your reaction video. You are so good with your reactions. So insightful, so on point, and (at times) so funny that I can barely pay attention to the singing. Bar none, you are my favorite reactor on UA-cam. Your style cannot be duplicated or immitated. Thank you for always making my day! AND - this song is indeed FIRE.
Awesome reaction as always Dave.
It was Geoff's idea for Tony to be the guard.
Behind the scenes.....
Geoff: Hey Tony. What ya doing?
Tony: Me?
Next shot Tony was in a robe putting on rings.
Tony was in the other room that connects to the studio where they were singing. Layne asked Geoff if he wanted Kathy to do it. That's when Geoff suggested Tony then called the above to him.
Yes. Geoff has a 6 year old son named William. He goes to a lot of the shoots with Geoff and Kathy.
He was at Geoff's shoot for his Jacks Lament video.
I just finished watching the premiere.
There was something so heartwarming in the BTS for Jack’s Lament when William went up to his dad in all that scary make up and just gave him a long hug.
@@janetdw
Yes. That was sweet. William is so used to Geoff in all those crazy costumes and makeup he's used to it.
You can also tell that there's lots of love in that family.
Wait until you see Geoff's solo video, we see more of his true visage and it is a sight to behold. Just a word of warning, don't wake the kids, because you might.
This is so very AMAZING! ❤
BTW - The guard is played by previous VP baritone, Tony. He's now in partnership with Layne with PattyCake Productions Studios where this was filmed. My favorite videos with Tony involved are Road Trip (😅) and Phantom of the Opera with Rachel Potter. Nice they're all still connected! ❤
Your hype before the vid even started set everything up perfectly and expectations were EXCEEDED.
"Burn it!"
My freaking heart yo.
Keep up the amazing work sir!
I heard VoicePlay's version HellFire moments after it was posted, and it sent shivers down my spine. It still does. Delighted to see someone else was affected by it too.
Maybe I should switch from an unscented deodorant. Ha!
Geoff and Kathy have one child, and he's adorable. He's often at the studio, seen in the BTS videos. One of the oldest videos on Geoff's channel is Our IVF Journey. Watch it, and then VoicePlay's Daddy Sang Bass. You'll tear up at the end, in a good way.
"Imma throw up"... I felt that. 😂
Loved your reaction, Dave! ❤
😁
@@whatitdodaveGeoff just released a new short cover of All I Want For Christmas Is You. Would you please do a reaction to it ? He is super amazing.
Love the flames in Geoff's eyes after she escapes. Great visual effects.
Geoff and Kathy’s son William is very sweet and Geoff is his best buddy I think it’s Kathy’s job to say what! 😂❤🏴
Always love your reactions Dave...... and be prepared, Geoff just dropped his solo, Jack's Lament from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Keep the deodorant handy, Geoff released his new song. 🎃
Thanks for your reactions
Oh my bro, I feel that SO much! The first time I saw and heard this, I was watching it on Discord with a group of friends who are also fans of Voiceplay. When it ended, I was literally unable to speak or move. There was about 10 seconds of silence, then one of my friends quietly said: "Oops, I think we just broke Doc." He didn't know how very right he was. This one broke me.
Unbelievable cover. This guy is supposed to be a villain! VoicePlay made me fall in love with this song. The passion, power and beauty of this rendition makes you feel touched to your soul despite everything.
The voice-actor of Frollo was Tony Jay (the one who also Voiced the Elder God in the Legacy of Kain series), and yes, he sung it. He also voiced many other great Disney characters; Shere Khan in the Jungle Book, the Magic Mirror in Snow White, Monsieur D'Argue in Beauty and the Beast, and many others in the spin-off series; Anibus (Gargoyles), Dr. Rosenthal (Recess), Grim Reaper (Darkwing Duck), Dr. Animus (Buss Lightyear) and many others.
In their cover of “Daddy Sang Bass” from some years ago, their families joined them at the end. Geoff was holding a toddler.
And his eyes already went red in “Headless Horseman” a year or two ago.
Geoff has a little boy…. Don’t know if he has more, just know of the one. He actually did a short making pickle sandwiches with his little guy
Your review showed me someone else who hears and feels music the way I do, especially this song!! Geoff brought the true hypocrisy and evil out so you could see and feel it without any visual effects. I love Voice Play and now I have found my favorite reviewer! Thank you for randomly showing up in my feed - you ROCK! ❤
Loved the reaction 😊
With Geoff, there's always a Zaraki Kenpachi, "I'm gonna take off this eye-patch," moment just kinda hanging in the air, lol
This song is a great song and the fact that it’s a good look at what frollo is going through with his battle of good and evil and ultimately the evil side won
Geoff's son is still pretty young (about 6 or 7). I bet Geoff is 'saving' that "WHAT?" for his kid's teenage years. Wouldn't want him becoming immune to it.
I have the "Hellfire" leading into: "Now gypsy its your turn" as my alarm reminding me to take my ADHD meds because what else can i do but go "Yes sir, my turn for meds." I have never been so consistent with taking them. 😂
6:29 The moment Geoff Castellucci joined The Sith!
Geoff has one sweet boy, their miracle IVF baby. I thought the same thing: that kid better never misbehave, because one "What" from Geoff is enough to shock a kid back into obedience. Hell, it made me sit up a little straighter.
Geoff's latest is a must see!! Jack's lament!! He is just pure power this man!! 🖤💜🖤💜
just superb! let them do the soundtrack for the next disney movie!
Every moment of eye contact, I hear you loud and clear brutha. 😂
Wonderfully entertaining reaction, Dave. Thank you
You are without a doubt my favorite reactor. Your reactions to the music are right there on your face. I love that your emotions are unfiltered and real. When I get a notification from your channel, I am there. Thank you for giving us your authentic self. ❤️
Yes, Tony Jay was both the speaking and singing voice for Judge Frollo!! He was an incredible actor, and I think he would be very impressed with this rendition.
That being said, this may be the only version of Hellfire that I'll be listening to for the forseeable future.
You should listen to Peter Hollen and Black Gryph0n versions... they give me chills
Loved your reactions! Geoff has a new one at noon today, just so you know look forward to that one as well
Contacts...to cover up the real color of the glowing eyes ..😮
Geoff doesn't have kids he has baby dragons
I just want to say how much i enjoy your videos. Your face and energy make me happy, and you went a long way to cheer me up and distract me recently while i was in the hospital then while my premature baby was in the hospital. We are home and healthy now and look forward to many more years of Dave!!
For those of you who wants to know what the Latin translations
Confiteor Deo Omnipotenti (I confess to God almighty) | Beatae Mariae semper Virgini (To blessed Mary ever Virgin)
Beato Michaeli archangel (To the blessed archangel Michael) | Sanctis apostolis omnibus sanctis (To the holy apostles, to all the saints)
Beata Maria (Blessed Mary) | Et tibi Pater (And to you, father) | Quia peccavi nimis (That I have sinned) | Cogitatione (In thought)
Verbo et opere (In word and deed) | Mea culpa (My Fault) | Mea maxima culpa (My greatest fault) | Kyrie Eleison (Lord have mercy)
Layne did such an amazing job with this arrangement, it's fantastic. I don't see how you are able to contain it to not wake the whole house, amazing control (and interesting control items. lol) You should check out Jonathan Youngs version of this, it's another amazing cover of it.
Reaction was good and the song was beyond good too I'm glad I'm not the only one who lost it with this song I couldn't contain myself I couldn't believe the reach/range they have gives me chills everytime I listen to it . Also You said you didn't know who sang it Tony Jay sang both and he and the song terrified my childhood but as an adult the song is one of my favorites
As I picked up my tablet, I told my son I needed to see if Dave had reacted to Voiceplay's latest...and you did not disappoint! Great reaction to a great video!
What a wonderful reaction 😂❤ Hellfire is in my top 3 favorite covers by these guys. I love how Geoff brought exactly what this song needs. Layne once again cracked us up with this arrangement for everyone to shine.🙌❤❤❤❤❤
I think we can all agree that Geoff as a solo artist and Voice Play *own* Halloween. It is *their* holiday,no one does this better.
LOVE your reaction!. I admit I did not care for the original movie and/or play. Just was not my taste. But, after listening to VP version of this song for several replays I cannot get enough of their layers and wonderful talents! Forgot to mention for your pleasure give a listen to Geoff's reading of The Raven - it's Halloween
You the man Dave! Always love your reactions. Stay Blessed!!
You're one of the only reactors I will watch in full. Your energy and charisma is the best! Yes, Geoff is showing only a % of his power. Lets Gooooo!
😂😂😂 you and me both, dave. They killed this one!💜
Geoff is flexing his range... you say at 2 minutes. That is like those first time reactors commenting how low that note was in the first minute.
Just watch this.
You are wonderful. I appreciate you, Dave!!
I love your reactions, thank you for being you.
Voiceplay did an incredible job with this song!! They are fantastic at almost everything they sing. Don't know if you would be interested in reacting to it but there is a guy named ScorpioMartinus who has done a Latin version of Hellfire that is absolutely amazing (he also has a great Jack's Lament cover in Latin as well)
You're back at it again! The best reaction as always, did you use the deodorant as smelling salts to bring you back to reality?! Hilarious dude always love watching your stuff!
Dave, you're a treasure! VoicePlay + Dave = absolute joy. Thanks!
it's called smelling salts my dude; youre just bring back the 1850s with your deoderant lol
Ah, what came to me later: I know perfectly how you feel - I had the same feeling when listening to VPs "Seven Nation Army" - their version for me was _so much_ better than the original, it blew me out of the water and I had to listen to it about 7 times in a row since it was so very, very good. - On the other hand... here, I was lacking the comparison, as I seem to be one of the very few people around who never ever heard the song before. (I think I never watched the movie either, not even partially). So I thought it was extremely well done - but I had to listen to it a few times now (and fully understand the lyrics/ having subtitles on) to understand what's going on and really appreciate the tension building up throughout the song.
But again, loved to see how VPs version apparently was everything you had ever dreamt of. :)
OMG your reaction has me going are you ok? Did your head explode? Did the degree bring you back? Blink if you're alright! lol also yes Geoff and Kathy have a kiddo. One last thing Eli with that F5 is freaking it as well! They all individually are phenomenal and all together there is no words.
I’ve struggled deciding whether I like Tomi’s Hellfire or Jonathan Young’s better. Tomi’s arrangement is amazing; Jonathan’s videography and acting scared the heck out of me. Voiceplay’s version is so different-I adore it, but I can’t compare it to the other two because it’s not the same thing at all even tho it’s the same song. What a great arrangement!
I might have liked the mixer to turn up Cesar’s “guitar” bit a little more. It sounds great but it’s hard to hear.
Geoff does have a beautiful son-I’m thinking he’s about eight or nine by now, but I am awful with ages. Imagine living in that house-if Geoff turns on that bass voice, you KNOW you’re in trouble! LOL.
You're right that it's impossible to compare such very different versions of this song. They all bring their own unique arrangement and feel to it. Personally, I like this one, I like Tomi's version but I LOVE Jonathan's! The energy and passion he puts into his acting and vocals, for me, is incredible - really brings out the feeling of a man descending into madness with his lust for the gypsy girl!
@@deniblackmore2179 A lot of people bring up Tomi’s Hellfire as one of his best works, and it’s excellent, but he really has come a long way since then as a musician. He’s just starting to hit his stride, I think, and it’s been fun to watch him grow.
I’m not so much into metal, but Jonathan’s Hellfire is one of the songs I recommend and listen to. It’s so well done.
I hope you’ve checked out Geoff’s new solo piece. I’m awed.
@@lkayh Tomi has certainly grown a lot musically. He's very talented.
I do love rock and metal but I think Jonathan has a very versatile voice and I love it in all it's forms. Some of his earlier output and collabs with other artists on their channels are quite surprising to those who only know his metal stuff. His output includes ballads, jazz, country, as well as his better known rock and metal.
Yes I've heard Geoff's latest - it's very good indeed! I do like it when he goes all out in his productions like that. ☺
@@deniblackmore2179 I first heard Jonathan in Bobby Bass/Wellermen’s version of Misty Mountains-I really love the quality of his voice-I can even admire some of his metal techniques.
Tomi has always had an amazing ear for complex harmonies. Some of his songs are really “dense,” if that makes sense, but he’s been putting out material recently (Jericho, Unholy, Overwhelmed) that is simpler and still has his trademark chords and layering. I think the latter may appeal more to a broader audience.
@@lkayh First time I heard Jonathan was with The Bass Gang on "Centuries". I loved the grittiness of his voice in that and went to check out more of his channel. That was how I found what a variety he covered, and not all screaming rock! I actually think he has a great ballad and jazz voice.
Yes I understand what you mean by saying some of Tomi's songs are "dense" and I agree with you. Some of his stuff is very complex. I love his cover of "Unholy". I think some UA-cam artists are rethinking their output at the moment due to the vagaries of the UA-cam algorithms.
Great reaction! Love your facial expressions.
I swear I would pay to have geoffs voice
Geoff and Kathy have a son. I think he is about 6 years old now.
Watching this while waiting for Geoffs' new one. "Jack's Lament" Geoff has a son William is six years old. Off to Geoff premeir
Geoff does have a son I can’t imagine his son as teen
Loved this when I saw it last night and loved your reaction today. You ever get to let loose and we'll all stand back shocked and then celebrate!
I really enjoy this cover. If yoy haven't seen it, annapantsu does a female cover of it and it is fantastic
Hi Dave. I never heard of Hellfire before but I Have Geoff on my playlist next to Dan
Lol finally saw your reaction for this and it didn't disappoint! When the beat picked up, you knew what was coming! But that 'sin' part! Ohmg...
Voiceplay Is Bringing IT!!! Good Brown Gravy, Dave!!!
I chortled at your reaction smelling salts! This creation is truly hellfire!
You should check the version from Colm Mcguinness.
thank you so much for showing such raw emotions, it's beautiful to see
I think you would like caleb hyles version face my fears from kingdom hearts 3
Duude, I was waiting for your reaction to this one to come up on my recommended! And I felt the same when I listened to this latest VoicePlay mind melter! Shiznits, I feel that way everytime I watch it!
I was WAITING for your reaction 😂❤
I enjoy watching you react to songs so much. Plus your knowledge of music and feeling
I love your reactions, this one had me in kinks of laughter. Thank you so much for brightening my day 😊
Now that it is Halloween again, you should react to Jonathan Young's cover of "This Is Halloween" that he released last year. Truly a disturbing and haunting rendition.
