YES. The first time I heard this performed by VoicePlay it sounded so passionate that it made me think it was a totally unsuitable song for a Disney film! Well done the guys for their interpretation! He is the nastiest creepiest of villains.

VoicePlay are a Picnic chocolate/candy bar. The cream filled wafer is Cesar's smooth sweet cream filling contrasting Eli's crisp crunchy wafer. Add the gooey caramel of their guests (especially J.None) and Layne's nutty goodness. Coat it all with Geoff's silky smooth chocolate voice 🥰
Keep you eyes open for Cesar's air guitar and high vocals. That guard is Tony Wakim. He happened to be in the studio and was pressed into service. This video is stunning, evil, mesmerizing and unforgettable.

I definitely want Cesar's jacket. I would buy it and wear it all winter. Also, his air guitar with realistic electric guitar wailing... I mean, I just wanna know HOW he does that so when I randomly air guitar I don't simply look weird. I want people on the train to look over and gawk! Layne KILLED this arrangement, and he really knows how to write for Geoff. After singing together for over a quarter century, they both know each other's strengths.

Everyone(fans, reactors, aliens from Geoff's home planet) know and try to anticipate when the bottom falls out and Geoff drops in the catacombs; or in this case actual He$$ from which he channels that power. But you just can't, even when you know its coming(I follow at least 6 different reactors whove watched, and I've watched the video prolly about the same amount); it's still a punch in the soul when he actually gets there.
Agree with you that VoicePlay has reached a level of mastery that is incredible. This is a villain song from a horrible person but I fell in love with this song because of them.
Now - back to VP - This was absolutely amazing, wasn't it?! Each person's tone was so good. And Eli should not be allowed to sound so glorious while singing "Destroy Esmeralda". But then Geoff's voice was so rich and rounded, especially at the beginning, but also those "She will Burn"s of his! I am very happy you caught Cesar's guitar 'solo'. I missed it the first 2 or 3 times I watched. I caught his 'air' guitar, but it just didn't connect in my mind at first, simply because it sounded so realistic. And a very smart reactor (sorry - I've forgotten who it was), pointed out Layne actually managed castanets in his beatboxing. I know it is puny, but this was absolute FIRE! So spectacular!

I'm not gonna bother attempting to compare the two, because honestly - apples and oranges - and that's just not the point, but you REALLY need to see Jonathan Young's version of this. You can literally watch the man unhinge as he packs an emotional breakdown into his performance! It's amazing.
Geoff really didn't want to do this one, he wasn't comfortable with portraying this character. and who can blame him? But he did wonderful job anyway. As did they all. I hope you'll watch it all through at some point and get the full effect. :) If you can stand it.

I have been watching VoicePlay for years now and I have only one consistent question coming to my mind and it’s how the hell does Geoff keep making his voice go deeper and deeper every time I hear it
This is a beautiful and powerful song and video. These guys are amazing. The soundtrack art is done by Eli. Besides lighting he's a master of backgrounds and soundtrack on A1.

Never got that into the Hunchback of Notre-Dame movie tbh. After watching the Canadian 1995 musical I can't associate any other music with that story. The musical was already pretty far off from the book, and as far as I'm aware the movie is completely different
I honestly don’t really like this version of Hellfire. They changed the feeling, heart, soul, and intensity of this song. And did some sort of pop rock rap ish version. Geoff as always had some great moments but this doesn’t feel like Hellfire to me. It would be a good song if the original Hellfire didn’t exist. But this is way to different from the original
