Just got me a twin tail habitat. Haven't had a habitat for so many years. Really stoked they dropped twins since it's always a struggle for me to find em
I like and respect Mark Suciu. He seems chill and not stuck up like most pro skaters nowadays. He may not be a great contest skater like some of the other pros but he’s very creative and has some cool skate videos. I hope he continues to prosper and inspire people to be chill like him.
@@AaronFelizmenio last interview I saw was like 2 years ago, he skated 148, 8.25", 53mm conical full. But I actually think the board in this video is still the same size. I didn't find a 8.375" version of this apex graphic, only 8.25" and it isn't fully symmetrical either
The reason why his 8.25 trucks are the same width as the deck is because the deck tapers from 8.375 down around the trucks. I have a bunch of these boards and I have never had an 8.375 measurement anywhere on this deck. Close but no cigar!
Word! It’s basically an 8.3! I was in the shop and looked at it and was like, no way that’s an 8.375! I started lining up 8.25 decks on top, basically the same, measured it later and it’s essentially 8 & 5/16th around 8.3 and not a full 8.375. But it does feel just slightly bigger than 8.25 under the feet
Probably help catch a shuv smith or landing perfectly fakie. .Stay on board I had a Habitat deck and I found it somewhat short. . Although the board was probably 8
Ive been planning to have a habitat board for years but im really meticulous when it comes to concave, steep concave is my go to board feels comfortable and the boardfeel when i do nose slide is smooth i hope you guys help me how to identify which alien or habitat board has a steep concave
@@felixmcdonnell6563 Ah dang good eye. Yeah I can't tell if the kingpin screw is just black or if it's hollow, but looks to be hollow. Appreciate the reply!
Depends on foot size. If you got big feet an 8.375 is small.Tony Hawk skates an 8.5 with size 13 shoe size. I imagine he thinks 8.5 is tiny. His foot size is4 and a half inches bigger than his board. That would be like me skating a 5 inch deck with a 9.5 shoe size?
@@darkwingduck7212 I ride an 8.25 and rock size 11 shoes and am 6'2 tall and 8.25 seems really small as an adult. The crazy thing when I was growing up 8.25 was considered to be huge! Now you had kids like Kader (now adults) who came through riding 9's and lots of pros are sticking around the 8.5s. In the 90's and early 2000's people were skating thick ass shoes with 7.75's.
@@andofb up your board size. They go up by 1/8 of an inch, so maybe try a8.375 or 8.5. My foot is 9.5 and my favorite board size is 8.62 for a somewhat old man.
So, Mark's deck in this is a symmetrical twin tail right? Ive been looking for an 8.25 or 8.375 symmetrical twin tail/nose for a while now and all of the ads for this deck don't clearly state whether or not its a symmetrical twin, but some of them claim popsicle of some other drivvle that doesn't mean anything. Is this a run just for Mark, or is available to an average Joe like me?
I remember when 8.25 inch came out for trucks and everyone was like whoaaaaaa. but, i went alan key to thunder 151. and scaled my 12 year old self to 8.75 inches. perfectly. lol. except 7/8th inch alan key bolts seem a lil sketch. still. i miss thunder lows. so you gotta go as wide as possible. lol. or your skating vert in street skate brand trucks. lol.
Yeah before 8.25 trucks we had to choose either 8 or 8.5 trucks for 8.25 deck. In 2006 I used to put a couple extra washers on the inside. Btw why is 7/8 bolts sketchy?
@@grindlounge I used to skate 8 with 8 because it's all we had after they stopped shipping lows to eastcoast. so i went 8.5 and then the boards gotta go 8.5 too. 8.25 just doesn't seem right. it feels so square on 7ball bearings. i like how the wheel shape doesn't matter so we didn't use riser pads either. nobody conformed to shape. When people started popping the shields off their bearings I lost it. lol.
they were nice on the forged aluminum base plates. but i went back to team 151's with the bolts going the same way on both sides. usually its the dealer who doesn't know and sells the trucks in the wrong couplings. Someone else has the other two going the other way. lol. one of us is gunna roll an ankle lol.
Interesting…I think i would have a hard time not knowing what’s the tail and the nose but only because I’m used to it for over 20 years.nose has to be bigger
thank you habitat for coming back. i always loved your art style. really cool

3 speed washers each wheel 2 inside 1 outside amazing once broken inn 🤘🏽 💯
The wheels are specifically the OG Classics and not the regular classics in case anyone is wondering.

right? i was SURE he was an 8.25/147/52mm guy
what did you think instead?
I think he sized it up and skated 8;25 most of the time
Honestly thought he's 8.12 size

Crazy how nowadays an 8.375 is a street deck? I don’t know what people were thinking years ago skating 7.75 inch decks.
I used to skate 7.5 or 7.75 back in the day. I didn’t know many people riding even an 8. We considered 8 to be huge.
Impressive. Very nice.. Let's see Paul Allen's Setup

8.375 is my favorite width too, favorite deck is a zero deck 8.375x31.9 with 14.25 wheelbase. Perfect for me
Also rocking thunder 148s. I prefer it over my other 2 standard indys
Fascinating...
Very nice. Let's see paul Allen's setup
The tasteful thickness of it.
Oh my God, it even has a watermark!
TIL Mark rides a symmetrical deck
Makes sense. Lots of his lines would require him to have something thats more consistent. I actually wondered about that when watching his Verso Part.
Im surprised all boards arent symmetrical. I have to swap directions on my board for the same reason mark said here.
Thunder 148 are 8.25, you can actually see that the deck is slightly wider. But yeah close enough lol
Didn’t expect this one today but HELL YEAH ! 🔥
hell yeah, indeed!
Was in Michigan when you did this!! At prospect park in yipsy
The trucks look so high at the start! Maybe the concave?
it would also be interesting to know what shoe size a skater has comparing to the deck size..
Ace low regular pushings will fit that .. been doing this to my thunders since 2019
Please release this symmetrical board in 8.5? I’ll skate those boards exclusively if you do.
Yes! I would love it so much
Refreshing to see someone not obsessed with the type of hardware
What's the wheelbase?
I have the SOTY Suciu deck thats also a twin and its 14 3/8 wb

Same, I also prefer symmetrical boards.

Having quick feet with a 8.3 is hard 😅
Actually easier since shifting your feet quickly on a wider board is much more stable and less squirrly than a narrow board.

they’re the OG CLASSICS so wider then the normal Classics
