I still got their original tent from 10+ years ago and it’s rocking strong. From elk in Wyoming, to Mule deer in Utah, to hell white tail in Texas pitching it on a lease. This things been beyond stellar. Other than sap I haven’t had an issue and I’m typically hard as hell on my shit.

Thanks for the update review. Those new pole sleeves should even help give those carbon poles even support across the top. Not that I've heard much wrong about the carbon poles but that revision should be a benefit.

Might want to check the volume levels on the intro compared to the video.

Nah I think it has more to do with making the production cheaper than strengthening. Longevity of the tent via these sleeves is going to be greatly reduced. Gonna get the Kuiu Storm Star before they start cost cutting!

Well I got the mountain star last week 1st outing last night the poles sleeves need to be handled with care when threading the poles but the main problem and it's pretty big the vestibule zip cover is held together with velcro and there 12ich apart and the material between the velcro vibrates like nothing I've seen before and it sounds like 2 propellers starting in the vestibules hopefully adding more velcro should stop this apart from that it's a great tent.

I would try pulling the vestibule tighter when you stake it out and see if that helps.

Thanks for the review I'm wondering are the carbon poles a good option

I think they are the best option for weight to strength out there. The new sleeve system for the poles offer even more increased strength as well.

@@Rokslide thanks for the reply I was worried about them breaking as I've never used carbon poles before it's always been the DAC Featherlight.

When packing up, if the tent is wet, will it make the enter mash tent area wet

Not that this helps but the way you fold it in on itself then roll it up allows you to avoid the majority of that. I usually grab the top of my tent (cause it’s small and light) middle pool and give it a good couple shakes to get water/precipitation down to very little.
I owned and still own the very first version of this tent from 2012/2013. I’ve used it along w/ foot print everywhere from Wyoming elk, to Utah mule deer, to even setting up camp in a country field hunting a whitetail lease in Texas.
Minus areas of sap from pine trees that I’ve very lightly tried to remove without ruining tent, and mines been fucking rock solid.
