I have got the Hilleberg Nammatj 2 Dan and last winter i was side by side with my mate who has the Kuiu Storm Star and while the Nammatj stood up well in the wind , it was flapping and the Storm Star was Bomb Proof solid and there was absolutely no sign of any flapping. It's a very impressive tent indeed.
Hi mate, the zips near the vents are there so you don't have to get out of the tent to open and close them!! If you need it venting just zip open the four season door
I've got a Storm Star and it's the business. Stood up to everything I've thrown at it and fills me with confidence, so well worth the money and I'd buy the same again in a heartbeat. Can't recommend enough.
I live 5 mins away from Bosley Cloud, amazing views all round, and spent many a night up there, looking at the stars and watching fireworks on Bonfire night. Also just bought the Kuiu Storm Star, might try it out up The Cloud.
Thanks Dan,Interesting review. I've never taken much notice before but after watching the Blot Outdoors Show the other day he mentioned that unlike you, who reviews tents, etcetera mostly to get freebies and offers from companies, he has decided not to take advantage of his massive following. I think he has a good point and has gained a lot of respect from his fans. You say that you paid for this tent out of your UA-cam payments, which is a good way of offsetting your tax, but of course, you are entitled to do that. However, would you ever consider being like Blot (Chris) and put a stop accepting freebies as well as what you are earning from YT? By the way, Dan, whatever you decide to do, I'll always follow your awesome channel.
I'm sure whatever direction both you and Blot choose to take Dan, it will be good for your for your following, and for both your channels. Be that person!
@@englishwoodsman I watch Blot as well, he does have freebies sometimes but only top stuff that he wants to recommend, such as an Ebike he had. I don't know what that guy's on about not spending your UA-cam money, it's what it's there for, and why people pay Patreon to support channels, so you can buy stuff like this and create more content. It''s appreciated by people who like to see tents like this when they're thinking of buying one themselves. Some people don't appreciate all the work it takes creating videos, and think it's money for nothing. You earned it so spend it on whatever helps grow your channel. What Dan is saying is that whatever freebies he gets is given back to his subscribers, whereas and as you say Blot also has freebies such as ebikes etcetera, which he gives away to his family. That in itself is not a problem! Personally whatever anyone wants to do with their money and gifts is up to them. It's nobody else's business. Keep doing what you're doing Dan and Blot.

I've had this tent for a few years and had it out in some strong winds and epic rain. It had held up really well in all conditions. No flapping which for me makes a huge difference. I think it's an absolute cracking tent. Enjoy :-)
The lack of mesh on the vents prevented me years ago from purchasing this tent. Sad to see it's not been updated. Other than that it looks a fine tent. Enjoy.
That's a nice tent Dan. Setting up in the wind I think personally it's down to experience. The tent doesn't make it difficult, not knowing how does lol 👍
At that price its for serious campers, myself for £500+ i would want valet parking, meals, dancing girls & unlimited breakfast for a year 😂, nice one Dan 👍
Completely worth every penny. And if you think the price tag is alot, save up for one you wont regret it or sell your other tents and just have this one.
Absolutely agree with you re the tents worth! All the comments from people here saying it is too expensive clearly have no idea of the prices of comparable products from other manufacturers such as Terra Nova, North Face, Hilleberg etc which are all MORE expensive (I have a Hilleberg and friends have Terra Nova's, and the Kuiu is easily their equivalent in quality, and better in design, obviously all in my opinion)
Hi Dan , I think it could be a great idea to stick waterproof tape that matches the pockerts on the tent , onto the ends of the Poles to show which one goes where , for when its getting Dark ? 🤔🤨
Sorry if I'm putting this in the wrong place, Dan, but I couldn't find a more appropriate place. 3:46 Has the giveaway of the hot tent been done yet? Blot Outdoors is up to his old tricks again. Why on earth does he think it's OK to mention other UA-camrs' business affairs regarding accepting free gifts from companies for mentioning their products? And then, in the same breath tell us that the 3 E-bike's that he was given were shared out amongst his family members. As if that wasn't blatant contradictory, he tell his followers that he is now expecting to receive a folding E-bike that he will keep for himself. The reason that I've just unsubscribed to his channel is not because he contradicts himself but because he drags the names of other UA-camrs into his pathetic and mostly drunken narrative. Carry on doing what you do, Daniel. Your subscribers know and respect your honest channel.
I was thinking about getting either the Kuiu Storm Star 2p or the Nortent Vern 1. I ended up choosing the Kuiu Storm Star 2p because I think it's a better fit for what I need. I'm just waiting for the January sales to hopefully get a good deal on it. 🤞😏
Myself would not rest the above pocket as sometimes condensation droplets gathers on the outside but if something is touching the tent dampens could find it's way through

I was asked to leave a campsite on e. I was cooking in my tent with the door fully open and king poles to make a small awning, stove was at the very edge of my tent. Not ideal but I tried to be safe.
Dan 530 pnds? how much does that cost in cash wise ? 3.00ks how much weight is this? I would know all this but sorry being from the USA we dont use them like london does? In winds that would be great esp 35 to 80 mhp:). This tent looks big enuff for 2 people . Thanks Dan take care have a fantastic weekend? Love ya Barbara & Sam NWP, FL. USA baby
Will be interesting to Compare this tent with my Vango Halo 3 Person Geodesic Dome tent , Which cost when I brought it £ 180.00 . and has a very similar Waterproof rating .🤔🤨😊👍
Great tent, but maybe a bit much for weekend camping. I use my Vango Soul 200 all year, in winter storms I just camp lower down in a valley or near a natural shelter. Your older tents were more than upto the job, just dont be daft and pitch on a exposed hill top in windy weather. Mountain Rescue must dred youtube videos of campers on hill tops in storms, look for sensible places to pitch instead.
If I had the money, I'd pay it for the confidence in the equipment. But until I can afford a tent like that, I won't be spending too much time in the Grampians! I let you do it for me haha
There are drainage eyelets at the base of each of the pole pockets, so it isn't a problem. Just a tip, when taking the tent down and removing the poles, you need to squeeze the pole pockets at the base to open them up a little before trying to pull the pole out, otherwise the very end attached to the shockcord through the poles gets left behind!
The instructions are on the bag label 😂 peg the corners loosely then connect the grey carabiners, then clip the rest, door ties better if you unzip it fully 😉
