I take Jazz studies at USC as a drummer, but this guy has been one of my heroes for 10+ years.

Carson has been my biggest influence musically for the past two years. Whenever I practice now I don't think about what I am playing or how it sounds. I rely on emotion to take me where I need to be. Thank you so much for you positive vibes and stellar inspiration. You've inspired more than you could imagine.

Carson I am curious as to where you draw inspiration? When I watch your videos, you seem to drift off into this euphoric state, I am interested in where you go mentally when you create.

i once asked him and then he unfriended me.
however there is a comment somewhere on another youtube video, referring to a friend/ other guitar player that inspired him to use that peculiar picking/left hand muting thing if i;m not mistaken.
in case i ever find it again i'll let you know

If you're talking about namely that first song it's just him hammering the notes and quickly picking after - he said so himself in one of his other videos (his account is airplanehuh if that helps, although it was not on one of his uploads). So the left-hand side's ringing from open taps doesn't come through in the first song he tied that grass through the strings, although it doesn't matter so much with the electric as those sounds tend not to come through the pick-ups. Hope that helped. :)

I see your point. Maybe his methods of composition are easy but this guy can play from memory all those ramblings over and over. I dare you to try to do so.

I beg to differ, jimi hendrix had no musical experience whatsoever. All improv most of the time. Besides doing so helps you develop your own unique style of guitar playing. Of course musical composition really would help you in writing material.

damn dude. I used to really look up to this guy and the way he played about two years back. Now that i've actually found out how much there is to musical composition, I've realized how easy it is to go on stupid musical tangents like this guy.
