Thanks Tim. Great looking watch and a perfect size.5 year warranty is excellent. I have had a Seagull 1963 for more than 3 years and it keeps excellent time with no issues.
"Venus in its chinese form" is an interesting way of talking about it... quite good that this movement is getting more common. In a world flooded with fine Seiko and Myiota movements i think that the Venus-Seagull stand alone as an affordable hand-winding mechanical chronograph movement.
I want to pull the trigger so bad, but bought one of the Chinese seagull air force watches, and it lasted about 3 weeks. I'm concerned about reliability with the Depancel. I'm in the US, so I fear if it goes bad, it'll be cost-prohibitive to deal with sending it back etc. That blue is soooo nice looking.
Funny. I wanted to vote for the blue version, but after seeing your wristshot, I changed my opinion. Silver is the way to go for me. More versitile. Thanks for the great review!
Cheers Tim, it’s Sean in Atlanta! I like the look of both of these watches, but I am leaning toward the silver dial. Great playing on your opening segment! I forgive you for not choosing me as the winner - this time! Hahaha! I always enjoy your videos! Please allow us peasants in the States to enter next time… Sean
Great looking watch. I’ve had my eye on this brand for a while. No watch screamed, “buy me”but I am fond of tje brand. Looking forward to checking out their watches in person at Wind Up SF. Personally, I tend to prefer 42/43mm chronographs. Smaller chronographs tend to look cramped. Definitely prefer the blue variant, but that one silver sundial is too stark Dow my taste.
These chronos are beautiful, as always with Depancel. But with this movement, they just do not worth their prices. Because, if you have after the warranty time a problem with this ST movement, you will not find any watches repairer to fix it. And, believe me, as a french man microbrands lover, i'm sad to write this.
Thank you ! 🙂The guarantee covers manufacturing defects. Our after-sales service will take care on any flaws. Under the 5 years warranty or not. Our watchmakers know how to adjust or repair the Seagull ST1901 movement if necessary. 😉
Our french watchmakers work to make the movement reliable: cleaning, adjusting, fitting and checking the chrono functions. This is also reflected in the price. What's more, the movement is a clone of the old VENUS 175, so it's technically reliable in its construction. We offer a chronograph with top-of-the-range finishes at a reasonable price and with a racing spirit. 🙂

Great episode Tim.
Congratulations Casper and well done Tim & Baltic.
Cheers 🍻

That's correct, the entire globe can enter.
I just discovered this brand, and these watches. That blue one is stuck in my head.
I like the blue . Huge crown with no crown guards.
These are fantastic Tim, blue in particular. Great price too... I'm considering.
Very good video Tim, it looks very cool and has this vintage chronograph charm.
I like the blue. Reminds me of the Skipper by Tag Heuer.

Very nice looking watches. Blue one yes.
I prefer the blue dial too.
I like the white. Its a nice watch.
Lovely watches. I can’t accept the admitted inconsistent quality from one of these handwound watches to the next.
Great video. Thanks.
Thanks for watching.

Imagine Tissot made those watches
A seagul for 700 euros, no thanks.
@@IDKline At least a Lemania 5100 ;-)

Did not seagull purchase the rights, and tools, to produce that movement decades ago? It's not a clone 🤬@@depancel
I agree
