- I've had an influx of questions recently about the shocks that I used to upgrade my Tamiya Lunchbox. Everything is explained in the video but here are the links that I talked about:
Fastrax Shocks: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FASTRAX-1-1...
Tamiya Lunchbox U-Brackets: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tamiya-Gra...
5th Shock Mod Details: • Monster Project: Tamiy...
I hope you found this video and these links useful.

Thanks man. Short story: 75mm front and 85mm rear, but he had to be selective about white eyelets to use. Good informative video. 👍🏽
Nice job 💪💪💪
Thank you.
Cool video.... Where can I get these U-Brackets and shocks these days?
Fire vid 🤣🔥🔥
Thank you, glad you liked it.
Do you think you could maybe do a video on cleaning your rc after a day on the trails and also a basic tool setup for someone starting out in rc
Could do. Thanks for the suggestions.
How does it performs now with the new suspension?
How many extra U brackets do you need? Doesn't it come with 4 so you need one more for 5th shock?
Thanks for this great video - I bought these shocks and need the u-brackets you mention. I followed your eBay link but it's now dead. I've had a look myself on eBay for "u brackets" but couldn't find anything. Do you have any other sources? Thanks!
If you Google rc lunchbox shock absorber u bracket they should come up
you should check out ampro engineering there's a lot of stuff for the lunch box
Already subscribed to them. They do indeed have a lot of performance parts for the Lunchbox. If something breaks, I'll consider an upgrade from them.
If I buy 80mm shocks for all 4 corners would it be ok? I'm getting my first lunchbox tomorrow and would like to do the bearings and shocks while I'm putting it together. Thanks.
Yeah, you should be OK. The motor may get a bit close to the shock spring, but if you have a solid link in place of the 5th shock, it should be fine.
Thanks. I'm not going to do the 5th shock. I'm going to get the transaxle spacer thing from Ampro. Not sure I want to go and start cutting up the plastic quite yet. I just got done putting my Lunchbox kit together and see a few things I want to upgrade already.
Awesome, good luck. I hope you enjoy your Lunchbox as much as I have enjoyed mine.
