My I suggest to undo half a turn the lower rear shocks screws? They have to move a little to follow the radial movement of the rear axle. So the dumper is free to work properly.
Hi Nanni, great tip, I’ve adjusted them now and much better. Thank you for watching. I’m coming over to Lake Garda on the 20th August 2022. Looking forward to having some down time and some more beautiful Italian hospitality. Take care and best wishes to you and the family 😊😁😉
Great video John . Pete sure knows this chassis . These are great upgrades and the video was clear . It seems my notifications have gone awol . I’ve missed a few videos. I’ll catch up my friend . Gonna check I it the bell . Best wishes buddy 😊👍
Very nice upgrades John! Lunch box is coming along very nicely brother. I lIke the aluminum spring retainers but I do think they need a lil play in the lower screw to let the suspension move freely? Idk it may not have that much movement 🤷♂️ lol! Hope you have a great day buddy! 👊😎👍
Hi there Craig, Peter is amazing, and when it comes to this Lunchbox chassis, really has the modifications necessary down to a tee. Awesome fellow. Take care and best wishes to you and the family 😊😉😁
Hi there Tibster, thank you for watching and commenting. Oh yes, I am so so lucky to have such a great friend. He’s a true gentleman indeed. Take care and best wishes to you and the family 😊😁😉
Hello, this is the perfect way to start my day by watching your outstanding video, I always admire your uniqueness, thanks for sharing this amazing video, keep up the good work my friend, good luck 👍🌹🌹🌹
Hi there Jody, thank you for watching and commenting, I appreciate your time and support. Oh yes, if you get a chance to ge5 a Lunchbox, please do get one, you’ll have the chassis built in no time at all, and the possibilities with the bodywork, are endless, you’ll love it, I promise. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 🥳🎄🎅😊😉
Hi there Nanni, thank you for watching. I’ve adjusted the bottom fixing slightly, to allow for some shock movement too. Great tip. Take care and best wishes to you and the family 😊😁😉
Hi there and thank you for watching and commenting. Hopefully with the help and advice of my mentor Mr Smith of CW-01 Creations, I’ve eliminated most of the weak points. But, if not, I’ll be gentle 😎😊😉😁take care and best wishes 😊😉😁
Hello, John! Oh yes, these upgrades will certainly improve your fantastic lunchbox! Peter sure is the guru of all things CW-01 related. I haven't heard from him in a while, so I hope all is OK with him. A superbly presented eand explained video as ever, my good friend. Happy Sunday to you! 😎👐🤝👍
Hi there Mark, thank you for watching and commenting. Oh yes, Mr Smith is certainly a guru, he’s on my small, but elite guru list, which includes you, Pete Wylie, NanniRC 😉😎. I’ve not heard from him for a couple of weeks now, I believe he was due to have some annual leave after the Dunelm sales (he’s been a busy man), then I believe he’s been working on his full size car, as he needed to get it back on the road, because his poor VW Bora, had some issues. Thank you for the kind words of encouragement. I’ve really enjoyed making this Lunchie, I’ve seen the light, on why these little rascals are so great. Take care and best wishes to you and the family 😊😁😉
Hi there Mattias, thank you for watching and commenting. I had some expert guidance from Peter Smith, but got those upgrades done and hopefully have a great running Lunchie. Take care and best wishes to you 😊😉😁
Hi there and thank you for watching and commenting. I’ve had some expert advice from Peter Smith of CW-01 Creations. He knows these little fellows inside and out. Take a look at his channel, he creates original ideas with this versatile chassis. Take care and best wishes to you and the family 😊😁😉
John, you should have gotten some dirt under those tires before upgrading, (sarcasm). That's very awesome of Peter, such a great bloke!!!! The Lunchbox is ready to take on the world now!!! ATB my friend and I do hope everyone is fine.
Hi there Bob, thank you for watching. Peter is awesome indeed. Yeah, I know, but married to an Italian, some of the impatience rubs off on me. Take care and the very best to you and the family 😊😉😁
Hi there, I came upon your video doing upgrade strategies with my Lunchbox. Do you have any updates on these upgrades, and how they've held up? Great video.
Hey great guide John. What a top chap Pete is. I've not actually done any of these upgrades on my Lunchboxes although I have done 5th shock and different ways to brace the gearbox. Hey how's it going with that little camera? Hope all is well with you and yours 🙂
Hi Pete and thank you for watching my good buddy. Oh yes, that Peter Smith is a great gentleman indeed. I’ve watched your 5th shock mod many times, but Peter said the axel brace is a good sturdy solution and brace the front and drop the 5mm rubber tubing to the front dampers to aid the cambering of the model. It’s a great chassis. First impressions of the camera is good. I’m just waiting for a fast microSD card from good olde Amazon, a class 10 UHS-3 spec card, so hopefully, capture at the higher frame rates a definition, to be honest, I’m impressed, I think sure it’s not going to be a GoPro, but I’m confident it will work. Take care and best wishes to you and the family 😊😉😁
Hi Darren and firstly welcome to the CW-01 club. The lunchbox is a really cool truck. Most of the upgrades are available from sellers on eBay. If I put links in the chat, unfortunately UA-cam will take the chat off for commercial reasons. But I promise you, they are available on eBay and you might be lucky with Amazon too. Bearings are a must, Google search Rc bearings and you’ll see that gentleman. Search for the Lunchbox gearbox brace, the brace across the chassis was some threaded bar, with a couple of ball end connectors and some 3 x 10mm stainless steel screws and nuts. The Lunchbox alloy body mounts are a must too, available from Fastrax. If you need any further help, please do message me by email, my contact is in my about section. Have an awesome build experience and I look forward to seeing how you get on, do so us 😎😉😊best wishes 😎😉😊
@@JF-RC thank you so much its my first build what size is the threaded bar for the chassis brace please. I've got oil filled shocks and metal wheel bearings to and what batteries are good for longer running time please. And thank I mite get the tamiya subaru brat to what do you think. I'm new to the rc world and need all the advice I can get. Many thanks 👍
@@darrenlarkins4426 hi Darren, you’re more than welcome. I used a 3mm x 100mm threaded bar and cut it to length. I purchased them again on eBay. I’ve got the Subaru Brat, the wonderful ORV chassis is amazing. With my re-release version you get both a hard and polycarbonate body too, so you get to have a shelf / show body and a running one, you get different gearing options too and the best bit…you get to have to open all the bags and parts trees, right from step 1, so the building experience is awesome! I would say it’s my favourite. Like I’ve said, if you want to private message me, use my email in the about me section. Best wishes and enjoy 😎😉😊
